[SOGo] Kernel general protection ip error calendar
Hello, i just found something which may causes the same errors on our server. http://www.directadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37339page=1 we recently have those errors with SOGo while a colleague wants to update 2 of its subscribed calendars on iCal 4.0.4. And only when he updates those subscribed Calendars he's getting those general protection ip errors. may deleting and recreating /dev/null solves it but i wanna ask before here, maybe theres another solution. the hardware cannot cause this because its a completly virtualized Server. Re: [SOGo] Shared LDAP adressbook CardDav for Mac OS X 10.7.3
Hi Christian, maybe there is a workaround for Inverse. What about adding a new Option in the config SOGoAggregateAddressBooks which concatenates one or more address books to the Personal One. So when Apples AB gets the Personal AB it gets the concatenated one!? P.S. sogo versions: 1.3.15 stable we have the same issue here. i believe to saw that OS X Address Book is enterprise oriented therefore only uses first (private) address book. we managed to have the shared one instead by modifiying the accounts .plist file - but its not a good reliable solution. Hope that one of Inverse Teams Member can say more about and if there is a workaround for OSX AB. I am not from Inverse, but... Apple Address Book on Mac OS only accesses the first (= personal) address book via CardDAV. You can not change this, without changing Apple Address Book. There is nothing Inverse/SOGo can do about it. So complain at Apples Support. The only work around you can use is to add the personal address book via CardDAV and to add the global address book via LDAP protocol. But for this to work, you have to make your LDAP reachable and viewable at least by all Apple users. For us this would be too insecure, as we would have to open our LDAP server for the whole university. Also the data protection laws in germany forbid us to make these personal information viewable by everyone, which would be the case via the LDAP protocoll. Re: [SOGo] Security and set-and-forget
Hello Sean, its great you consider using SOGo! Iam not a developer but a User for just 4 Months. Security is also a great term in our company - since iam responsible for :) Normally you shouldnt have any problems regarding security because SOGo itself runs as an Application and is only connectable through well-known protocols like http(s). We here changed everything to only connect through HTTPS (with a Wildcard-SSL Certificate) to SOGo - we´re using CardDAV/CalDAV as well as the Web-Frontend. Internally it connects to IMAP/SMTP and Sieve (if you want this) through normal protocols. SSL is available for IMAP/SMTP too if iam not wrong this moment. But Sieve (afaik) is only manageable unencrypted for now. Passwords are stored plain or as an SHA Hash (its just a configuration option) So the only security problems you have is a secure Vhost Configuration and privilege separation of your processes like with any other tool of this kind. I hope this answers your question - if not - just ask another one ;) Martin Am 5/29/12 4:04 AM, schrieb Sean Deschamps: Hello everyone, I like to manage categorized task lists with reminder alarms, start dates, priority levels, etc. and use Mozilla Thunderbird's Lightning extension for this. I'd like to have web browser access and sync to smart phones and laptops (including task alarms, etc.) for up to 10 users, and SOGo seems like a great solution. Unfortunately, I have only spent a total of 20 minutes on a Linux system (Ubuntu, in the past) but aim to install Debian soon. I know I will be able to accomplish a full setup with PostgreSQL, Apache, WebDAV with LibreOffice, etc. all in a matter of time. Before continuing to read documentation and wikis, I'd like to learn what I am getting into in terms of security and maintenance in general. My current computer is built into a rack-mountable chassis as it stays with some music equipment. I'd love to build an actual server to join my pile of gear but am wondering how safe it is. Could anyone who has read my long intro inform me of any need to take security measures? Or, are the servers and protocols used in this setup intrinsically secure? I'd like to host public websites from the same server and want to be 100% protected from potential intruders, attacks, viruses, etc. (of course). In addition, will I be able to use only stable releases of all components and set-and-forget it all? I have heard that running systems like these require daily maintenance but aren't nightly builds optional for those aiming to help build the software and test new functionality? Thanks very much to anyone who's willing to help, and sorry to others having to read my email, but I guess you won't get to this sentence! Sean -- users@sogo.nu https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists

[SOGo] Thunderbird Calendar Issues
Hi there, we´re using the most recent Thunderbird ESR 10.0.3 and SOGo Plugins (both and integrator isiUpdateUrl is customized) some of us have a problem when creating a new calendar entry with title, place and an invite. when the user clicks save and close, it saves but the window does not close - so he added 20x the entry before he saw it. then, 10sec later he clicked it again and the window closed. and we have another issue - when a user gets an invite he sometimes only have the blue bar with Open not accept, decline, tentative in the blue bar. can anyone explain that and tell me the window-close issue? Hi Robert, i saw this problem too and sometimes now (almost too often) the Delegation isnt working anymore. But the Calendar Things seem to run very well. Re: [SOGo] .well-known?
Hi Robert, exactly, i have configured 8443 too and CalDAV with iCal 5 works just FINE for my AND Shared Calendars. You actually dont need the Delegation thing to access other calendars. add shared calendars in SOGo directly using the 3rd button with the + from the left in the calendars section, type in the name of the person and then select the calendar. it now has been added to your calendars list in sogo. when you now add your account to iCal 5, youll have your own calendar and all delegated calendars synched fine!! the delegation tab, which seems to only run 1/10 times is just for ACL afaik but not needed for normal sync and so on try my soliution. it works here with 10.7.2 Lion and 10.7.3 Lion just fine! if it doesnt work, i can mail you my whole SOGo Config/Apache Config if you want... so for now, i try to get delegation in ical running 10/10 times, so i´ll try the well known thing in my vhost then and report back if it helps Martin -- *Martin Seener* Chief Information Officer www.barzahlen.com http://www.barzahlen.com/ | Zerebro Internet GmbH Fabeckstr. 15 14195 Berlin Deutschland Tel.: +49 30 838 584 71 Mobil: +49 151 275 300 82 E-Mail: martin.see...@barzahlen.com mailto:martin.see...@barzahlen.com Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg - HRB 136749 B Geschäftsführung: Achim Bönsch, Tobias Eichler, Sebastian Seifert, Florian Swoboda -- On 2/3/12 2:54 PM, Robert Casties wrote: On 03.02.12 14:39, Martin Seener wrote: Why it is port 8008?? i thoughtof 8800 and 8443 I think its just a sample config. With shared calendar I mean I am not able to see any calendar of another user that I am allowed to access. This shows up in the iCal settings as Delegation (at least in the German version). The config works fine otherwise, just not with my iCal 5. I do not really think that .well_known has any influence on the delegation/shared calendar issue. But with crappy iCal you never know. I believe that it works with your iCal, as I said it also works for my colleague (even back when we didn't have .well_known), but nobody seems to know why and why it doesn't work for me and others. Hello Stephan, as far as i know you can only sync all of them as of the actual 1.3.11 (2.0.0b3 as well afaik) maybe you can create a feature request on SOGo´s Mantis Bug tracker?? Its a nice feature but at moment, its not there :( Regards, Martin On 12/15/11 3:46 PM, sb_ber...@web.de wrote: Hello, CardDAV with IOS is working fine. Re: [SOGo] ANN: SOGo v1.3.11
Great ;) i haven´t done it yet but my SOGo Update is fast as well. but we should just keep in mind to restart all services needed for sogo - especially sogo itself and memcached. Check your Logfile /var/log/sogo/sogo.log - restart all services like mysql/apache/memcached/sogo or just the whole server and recheck your logs for suspicious entries. Yeah, I forgot to restart memcached. At least now I did it, it works much better, thanks. [SOGo] client access denied proxy
When trying to create a calendar entry with an invite from iOS 5, the invited user cannot accept/decline this invite, only see it. when doing the same from iCal, it works perfectly. My Log says this all the time: client denied by server configuration: proxy:http://127.0.0.1:2/SOGo/dav/user.name/Calendar/personal as well as some client denied by server configuration: proxy:http://127.0.0.1:2/SOGo/dav/user.name/Contacts/public/ but this should be ok because public contacts is the Global Adressbook (LDAP Directory) which is readonly. Iam using Apache2 with mod_evasive. Any Suggestions? Re: [SOGo] [ERROR] [we-rm] did not find locale for language: Slovak
Hello, dont know how to solve it yet, but it means that he cant find the locale file for your chosen language, Slovak (Slovakia!?) You may check if the file is there, if not, get it from the .tgz archive, put it in there manually and check permissions. Then restart sogo and you should be fine. Re: [SOGo] upgrade from 1.3.10 to 2.0b3
Hello! by the way - for us it just was so simple - dont this 2h earlier today. changed the sources.list from squeeze to squeeze-nightly and done a apt-get update apt-get upgrade (i created a backup-script for all sogo configs and the database before and tested this too) after upgrade ive done a /etc/init.d/sogo restart and everything was fine :) but we never compiled this own our own... next step is complete outlook and mobile device integration On 12/7/11 12:33 PM, Jean-Michel OLTRA wrote: Bonjour, Le mercredi 07 décembre 2011, Martin Seener a écrit... i have a working SOGo 1.3.10 installation on my debian squeeze 6.0.1 vServer and wanna upgrade to 2.0.0b3. is it just backing up DB and config (sogoapache), then changing apt sources to -nightly and doing an upgrade? I fear it is not so simple ! What we did (Debian Squeeze amd64) : - remove all SOGo and SOPE packages (remove, not purge SOGo). - backup /etc/apache2/conf.d/SOGo.conf, /etc/init.d/sogo these files are not removed if you did not purge the packages - compile and install SOGo, SOPE, openchange - configure according to the Inverse documentation - modify /etc/init.d/sogo, and /etc/apache2/conf.d/SOGo accordingly (path are now relative to /usr/local) - create (or copy from Debian packages) a Samba init script - take care of Samba starting order : must be after SOGo and slapd - create some logrotate config file for samba - start SOGo, start Samba That was fine. But Outlook was not very happy with it, and we went back to 1.3 version.
