Re: [SOGo] Unable to Subscribe to users Public Calendar

2014-01-09 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta
Christian,

Thanks for the reply, I had to use the Authenticated URL as their is not access
to foldersSearch?type=calendar on the public side

 https://sogo.url/SOGo/dav/public/pubcal/foldersSearch?type=calendar requires
authentication :(

Even when authenticated and trying to subscribe to a public cal from the pubcal
account we only see Personal and Academic calendars.
Both Authenticated Users and Public Access have the same rights (Public View
all, Conf / Private None).

Maybe I am expecting something that is not possible? could have sworn one could
point at sogo on the dav side and get a list of calendars one to subscribe to.
Not much of a mac / iCal user, but recall something similar on the mac side.

Re: [SOGo] Unable to Subscribe to users Public Calendar

2014-01-09 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta
To clarify our setup

We have an account named 'pubcal' that currently has ~20 calendars that are for
public usage, be it cell phone, pc, mac whatever device. These calendars all
have the same access : Public View All , Conf / Privet None for both
Authenticated and Public Access.

When a user (Authenticated) attempts to subscribe to a calendar they are ONLY
presented with Personal and Academic (one of the ~20 public calendars). We have
to field requests from end-users to give them full ICS URLS in order for them
to subscribe as a non authenticated users, should be able to (if memory serves
me correctly) provide a SOGo dav URL to 'pubcal' and a list of calendars would
be presented to subscribe to.

Hope that brings a bit more clarity to setup / usage.

[SOGo] Sieve Vacation Script

2013-06-03 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta
Stumbled upon a little oddity with SOGo's Vacation rules they are appended to
the end of the sieve script and end up not processed if a prior rules have
stop directives.

For example, I setup a rule to put messages from my gmail account into
'TESTING' and have a Vacation message enabled everything works as expected. If
I add a stop directive to the gmail rule the vacation rule does not process.

These rules work in Oder listed:
if anyof (address :contains from joe_u...@gmail.com) {

If I add a stop directive to the gmail check then ONLY the gmail rule is
processed

if anyof (address :contains from joe_u...@gmail.com) {
fileinto TESTING;
stop;
}

Jun  3 14:29:46 hermes dovecot: lda(yacketrj): sieve:
msgid=CAD3YU+mB=xa6d-bswc8g62dvp5-2duncsnn3krz9wx_j_ft...@mail.gmail.com:

Other sieve parsers that I have used in the past always placed the Vacation
rule at the top of the rule file to ensure it was always processed first.

Will toss a bug/feature in the tracker.

[SOGo] Free Busy oddity

2013-03-12 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta
Lately our end users have noticed that free busy when inviting someone does not
match what the invited persons calendar actual shows.

For example, we have a resource room that has events for 3/12 at 8,9:30,2 and
2:30 on it's calendar but when you add the resource as an invitee only 1PM is
being display as busy, but the actual calendar does not have an event for 1PM.

We have seen this issues with normal users as well, were free busy shows time
as free but the end users actual calendar has events which are not being
processed by free busy. Show Time as Free is not checked on any of the
events in the calendars nor does the end users have anything set in preferences
regarding to free busy.

Re: [SOGo] Question re Public Calendar ....

2013-02-28 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta

 Nothing special :)

Just enable Public access in the config (see the documentation) and then set
the proper ACL's on the calendar.

We do the above with which you can see a dev copy here :

 How can I make the shared calendar readable by everyone? i.e., public
 readability

 Why would I want to do this? I want to point a Windows accounting application
 to a webpage containing the ICS version of the calendar, as it can read ICS
 format (similar to Outlook calendars)

 Do I need a special plugin? Or, can I simply change permissions in SOGo?

[SOGo] Moving .GNUstepDefaults to /etc/sogo

2013-01-31 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta
Considering moving our config to /etc/sogo but not positive about the directory
and file permissions as well as the proper usage of defaults after the change.
Tested on our dev server; defaults read returns nothing, further testing with
strace shows that defaults read is trying to access .GNUstepDefaults in /root:

access(/root/GNUstep/Defaults/.GNUstepDefaults, R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such
file or directory)

Also see an attempt to access :

access(/root/.GNUstep.conf, R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Is their a configuration option that needs to be set so defaults knows what
file to look at?

 'defaults' is a gnustep tool to manipulate gnustep defaults, by using
 sogo.conf, you are moving away from those.

 Configuration should be done by hand, in sogo.conf only.
 The content of that file is quite sensitive, so sogo:sogo 600 is the
 preferred mode for it.

[SOGo] Multiple IMAP Accounts and Sieve rules

2013-01-25 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta
We are considering allowing users to configure multiple IMAP accounts under
their SOGo account. For example we have financial aid users who monitor
multiple IMAP accounts via T-Bird and would like to-do the same within SOGo.
Enabling this is trivial at best, but does present a question regarding Sieve
rules.

If each account has Sieve rules how do we get them into SOGo? I wrote a perl
script that will take sieve rules for a user and import them into SOGo, but not
sure how to handle importing multiple account sieve rules into a single SOGo
account.

Noticed that within the WebUI one can only select folders from the primary mail
account when creating rules, so should I assume it is not possible to handle
multiple accounts with respect to sieve rules?

Re: [SOGo] object not found: SOGo = UID

2013-01-24 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta
 Donny,

Thanks for the reply!

Wish this was the case, but we have been running SOGo in production for 2+
weeks without any configuration changes. Everything has been fine until this
week when SOGo usage increased due to students and faculty returning from break.

A restored of SOGo and memcached seems to have resolved the issue for the time
being, a bit worried that this issue will creep up over the next few days of
usage.

 Hi,

I'm trying to configure the SOGoUserSources array to properly use
our LDAP RFC2307 based server.
my question is very similar to Ronald J. Yacketta's problem
(https://inverse.ca/sogo/lists/arc/users/2012-05/msg00197.html).

When I add a group to an event, ONLY the memberuid of the ldap group
entry were added. But I'd expected that the other entries with the
same the same gidNumber are added too.

However the rest goes well: the mail of the memberuid was find and
added to the event.

My config:

[SOGo] SOGo 1.3.15 not polling mail

When I access 'Mail' on the dev server e-mail is polled; that is all the

You can look at your Sieve filters (even if SOGoSieveScriptsEnabled is set to

Yah, been using sogo-tool along with a perl script I created to convert

OKay, a bit of a gaff on my end but it is working now!

Searching through the code I notice

in ./SOGo/SoObjects/SOGo/SOGoGroup you search classes (a NSArray) as such
// We check to see if it's a group
classes = [[entry attributeWithName: @objectClass] allStringValues];
...
[classes containsObject: @posixGroup])

while in  ./SOGo/SoObjects/SOGo/LDAPSource.m
you lower case the LDAP query results before stuffing them into classes
(a NSMutableArray)

// We get our objectClass attribute values. We lowercase
// everything for ease of search after.
o = [ldapEntry objectClasses];
...
[classes replaceObjectAtIndex: i
 withObject: [[classes objectAtIndex: i] lowercaseString]];
...

then do the following
[classes containsObject: @posixgroup])

Why the two different methods of finding posix[gG]roup? Would it be more
advantageous to search for objectClasses using the same methods?

[SOGo] Group setup help

Hello all!

Looking to re-configure SOGo to use Groups but seem to be overlooking
something which is preventing groups from properly working. Our LDAP
group appears to have the right attributes set as well as the SOGo
config, but when we add a group to an event it is not expanded out to
its memberUID's (or members).

Here is the test LDAP (relevant attributes) entry and SOGo config

# Test Department, Departments, potsdam.edu
dn: ou=Test Department,ou=Departments,o=potsdam.edu
mail: testd...@potsdam.edu
gidNumber: 1587
cn: Test Department
objectClass: top

CNFieldName = cn;
IDFieldName = cn;
UIDFieldName = cn;

bindDN = cn=*;
bindPassword = *;
canAuthenticate = YES;
displayName = Departments;
hostname = ;
id = departments;

[SOGo] Events created in WebUI display incorrect time in iCal / iPhone / iPad / Droid

2012-04-25 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta

Hello all!

We have opened up SOGo for a group of 20 folks to stress test SOGo,
generate end user documentation and training before we go live this
fall. During our testing we noticed that events via SOGo WebUi display
the correct time but are 1hr ahead in iCal and ihr behind on droid.

I deleted the event from SOGo and imported the ics into iCal, then event
shows at the proper time in iCal but now in SOGo WebUi it shows at 11AM.
Something funky is going on here with VTIMEZONE parsing I assume.

For iCal see bug #1203
http://www.sogo.nu/bugs/view.php?id=1203
This used to change timezone in iCal synched events to Africa/Algier

It will be fixed in 1.3.15

Android should be OK.
What timezone did you set on Android?

Kind regards,

Android is set to use 'Automatic', which I assume means NTP type sync

Hello all,

Does SOGo support audio reminders / notifications / alerts via the WebUI
as well as a pop-up (with or without sound) when a new invitation arrives?

Also being asked:

- Ability to not display weekends in calendar views
- Can't set day end time to :30. A fair majority of our staff work from
8AM - 16:30, but in the current version the WebUI Assumes everyone's day

[SOGo] Set Event (Meeting) Location based on Resource Location

For example, we have a Resource Location of kel218 (displayName is

reflect that of the Resource Location displayName.

Looking through the documentation and I have yet to find a way to

[SOGo] LDAP Groups with MailFieldNames

Hello all!

Trying to configure SOGo so that users can search and use LDAP for

We also noticed that when canAuthenticate is enabled all users are

[SOGo] ldap sync sogo users

2011-07-14 Thread Ronald J. Yacketta

Hello all,

During our testing we noticed that meeting invites sent to a LDAP user
who has never accessed sogo does not receive those events. For example,
LDAP/sogo user Foo invites Bar who is in LDAP but not SOGo to a meeting
, Bar who has never used sogo will not receive event. I have tested this
with several LDAP test accounts we have and in each and every case the
test user never received the event upon logging in for the first time.

Does SOGo require 'SOGoAppointmentSendEMailNotifications' to be enabled
in-order to function properly? If not, then is there a way to
pre-populate SOGo with LDAP users or another option for first time users
to receive events upon logging in?
