[xwiki-users] Watchlist integration with Microsoft Exchange server
Hi, Does anyone know: * how to get the watch list to work with Microsoft Exchange server to send emails out to users? * how do you edit a users email address - it's not in their profile - you only seem able to set it when registering a user Thanks. Re: [xwiki-users] Watchlist integration with Microsoft Exchange s erver
Thanks AK, It would be great if in futture it was more easily visible i.e. in the profile. My colleagues and I were also wondering if in future it was easier to add users to groups - at the moment you have to type in the user name it seems to add them to a user group. It would be better to be able to edit a user and select their user group from a populated drop down list of user groups, or in the user groups page to assign a user to a user group from a populated drop down list of users. And if anyone else knows how to get the Watchlist to work with Microsoft Exchange we'd be grateful - thanks. Re: [xwiki-users] Adding survey question and details to page template...
Kevin and others It is really good that you got it but I think it is very important for people to share with others what they got, so if someone has a similar problem he/she can at least see a possible solution rather than repost the same question again. This happens very often on all forums. In my mind it doesn't matter how simple / trivial the solution is (user error, one line code etc) the point is it should be described and posted for future use. [xwiki-users] some questions concerning editing pages - more specific section behaviour - XWiki 1.8M1
Hi guys, I have some points that I don't understand in XWiki, which occur somehow like bugs to me. I just edited the WebHome article of the Main Space which came with the default XWiki-Xar-File. In that WebHome there are 2 sections defined, the first one being the started by a Title1 format caption and the second one being started by a Title2 format caption. First thing is, how can I get another section with Title2 format in that page. I couldn't find any documentation on this. When editing the page in XWiki1.0 syntax I tried to add a section by having a 1.2 prefix after the existing 1 and 1.1 section, but that results in 1.2 being printed on the resulting page instead of a Title2 headline and a new section. When I format Title2 using WYSIWYG, I get HTML syntax in Wiki-Syntax instead of 1.2 (which didn't work before). The result is, that the page has a new bold Title2 headline, but still no new section (besides the syntax being strange - HTML). Another point is, that I just reedited that page and now, after saving, the first section, the one with the Title1 headline is no longer editable. WebHome points to section 2 directly, though I still see the content in the page. Last point is: How can I get XWiki2.0 Syntax working? I enabled it in xwiki.cfg, but that doesn't seem to have any effect. I really hope, you can give me some hints on my troubles. BTW, I'm using MSSQL 2000, if that could be involved in the problems. Many thanx in advance. Cheers, Sebastian ___ users mailing list users@xwiki.org http://lists.xwiki.org/mailman/listinfo/users

You need to edit your class' ClassSheet. Edit the page you're looking at in wiki mode. Look for something like #includeTopic(Space.SomethingClassSheet) On the right of the page, click on edit included document Space.SomethingClassSheet Using HTML, CSS Velocity you can now change the contents of the ClassSheet that defines how items from that class will be displayed in inline view. Re: [xwiki-users] the panel for create new page disappear (harri...@gmail)
Hello, I have faced a similar issue with the search panel having disappeared both from the column and from the panel wizard. I tried changing all the possible page layouts and every time i changed the layout i went and checked the panel in the panel wizard. It just wasn't there! The one thing that i distinctly remember i did before the panel disappeared is that i changed the look feel of the search box by adding a different button and set a background image. In fact, i had playing around with the skin for quite a while not just the panels. Don't know if these two are related. I had to scrap one of the instances of XWiki 1.7 final because of this problem. I have managed to setup the whole thing again. However, i am afraid i might just end into the same thing again. I am running XWiki 1.7 final version on a tomcat 6 server with mysql 5 and the corresponding jdbc:mysql driver. This time, however, i've not changed the skin or the css at all except for the logo at the top. Thank you guys!!! Re: [xwiki-users] some questions concerning editing pages - more specific section behaviour - XWiki 1.8M1 [partly solved]
Hi Vincent, thanks for your quick reply. Though I didn't find anything new on that page, I discovered, that I have to always write 1.1 in XWiki1.0 Syntax instead of increasing the number to 1.2. That wasn't intuitive for me in the first place. Also, XWiki2.0 Syntax seems to work now, though I asked myself, if it is possible to convert existing Syntax 1.0 articles to 2.0 articles. What I still don't get is How to create sections - or get an edit icon at the top right at all. While the original WebHome and the edited version of it has it for each section, new pages don't get such an icon. I looked at the WebHome page and found, it is using the XWiki.ArticleClass object. Unfortunately adding this object to a new article doesn't resolve the issue. Any idea, what I might be doing wrong? Re: [xwiki-users] Adding survey question and details to page template...
Ajdin, You are absolutely right, especially since there seem to be so few people posting information from a users perspective. So here's what I did. The key to getting it working was an example I found in the snippets section that talked about how to create new documents with Tags. It showed an example of how to check if there was an instance of a certain class already attached to a document and create one if not (I already knew how to do this more or less). The important piece was how to set a property on that object once you have a handle to it. I don't have the code done completely yet but the basic shell is something like: #set($surveyObj = $doc.getObject(CPA_FAQs.SurveyClass)) #set($surveyChoice = $request.getParameter(surveyChoice)) #if(!$surveyObj) ##Create a new survey object and attach it to this document. #set($sObj = $doc.newObject(CPA_FAQs.SurveyClass)) $sObj.set(votetotal, $voteCnt) ## these are just here as an example $sObj.set(voters, $voters) ## as I haven't even created the Survey class yet $doc.save() #end #if($surveyChoice) ## Need to update the objects values here #end ## If the current user has voted don't allow them to vote again Was this information useful to you? form action=${doc.getURL()} method=POST style=display: inline input name=surveyChoice type=radio name=Yes value=Yes/Yes input name=surveyChoice type=radio name=No value=No/No nbsp;input type=submit value=Submit/ /form I still need to implement a few things but I know should work for what I need. The main thing I'm trying to determine at this point is if I can't require someone to have an account in order to vote, how do I keep them from voting multiple times? I can't use cookies, and I'm not sure using their IP address will prove of any use. Even if users do have to register in order to vote, I'm not sure there's an API method available that allows me to access their unique user ID as opposed to their user name. If I have to track usernames on each of these objects for all of the people who have ever voted on a particular question it could get out of hand really fast! Any ideas? Thanks! .:. If you're editing the page in wiki mode, you can create new sections using titles : 1 Level 1 title 1.1 Level 2 title 1.1 Another level 2 title In WYSIWYG mode, you can do the same thing by writing content, highlighting it and selecting the title level you want to use in the drop-down menu. Please note that the WYSIWYG editor associated with XWiki 1.0 syntax is old and will be updated soon. Do you succeed in making it work on a per-page basis? That is, when you edit a page, select XWiki 2.0 in the syntax menu on the right, save the page then edit it again has it switched to XWiki 2.0? I really hope, you can give me some hints on my troubles. BTW, I'm using MSSQL 2000, if that could be involved in the problems. I don't know muwh about MSSQL 2000 but I think it doesn't matter at all since Hibernate provides an abstraction layer here (I may miss an unexpected bug though). Hi Kevin, thanx for your answer. Yes, this helps a little and I also think, to have a seperate option of distinguishing between title and section would be nice. But, as I just wrote, here the following does not create editable sections with XWiki Syntax 2.0. = title1 = == subtitle1 == == subtitle2 == and so forth... Thanks for your response. The server is definitely shutting down. I am running linux, so unfortunately, no dtrace. However, I did strace the process (with '-f' and '-ff' so it follows forks), and it never tried to open the file. Atime is also definitely enabled on this filesystem. To use it, simply go to a page that is written in XWiki 1.0 syntax and select XWiki 2.0 in the drop-down menu on the left. This will automatically convert your page's syntax (a couple bugs may occur since it's only a first implementation, especially on heavily code-loaded pages). Re: [xwiki-users] Adding survey question and details to page template...
Kevin The main thing I'm trying to determine at this point is if I can't require someone to have an account in order to vote, how do I keep them from voting multiple times? I can't use cookies, and I'm not sure using their IP address will prove of any use. Even if users do have to register in order to vote, I'm not sure there's an API method available that allows me to access their unique user ID as opposed to their user name. If I have to track usernames on each of these objects for all of the people who have ever voted on a particular question it could get out of hand really fast! Any ideas? Not sure if storing IDs instead of usernames makes much difference. Also IP addresses will change but maybe not that often. Just thinking but perhaps you could create a new property in your page class and add username to it each time someone votes. Then on load (view mode) you can get this list of usernames as an array and loop to check if current user already in there. If so then do not show the vote form. Ajdin, You are absolutely right, especially since there seem to be so few people posting information from a users perspective. So here's what I did. Re: [xwiki-users] Unable to log out and to move panels in virtual wiki
Hello, Thanks a lot for your help and the answer. I will try that tomorrow. I don't think this is a bug as you can add a comment telling you how to set the redirect page in the parameters file. Well that's my opinion Thank you again Regards 2009/1/22 Thomas Mortagne thomas.morta...@xwiki.com Hi, I found what is the problem and how you can fix it: in xwiki.cfg you have the property xwiki.authentication.logoutpage which is a regexp to match a logout request but this does not match URL based multiwiki because it not enabled by default. To fix the problem you can set xwiki.authentication.logoutpage=(/wiki/[^/]+/|/[^/]+/|/)logout/* Now I'm not sure if we can consider this has a bug or just indicate in xwiki.virtual.usepath comments that the xwiki.authentication.logoutpage has to be set accordingly if xwiki.virtual.usepath is enabled. [xwiki-users] Workspaces and ldap issue
I'm currently working on a pilot install of Xwiki workspaces at our University and have installed Xwiki on a RHEL 5 server with tomcat5 and that seems all good and well. I've been working lately on getting ldap authentication setup and working and I can now successfully log into Workspaces using ldap credentials. However, once logged in using ldap I get the following message. You cannot create a personal space since you are not registered on this wiki ! So I'm hoping that what I'm trying to do is possible because if not its pretty much a show stopper for our attempt with Xwiki.
