[vdr] VDR user command ?
Hello, i use the xine lib output plugin to run VDR in background and connect to it. I configured VDRChannelPlus and VDRChannelMinus on Ctrl- Up and -Down. But i'd also like them to show the program menu, additionally. It seems not possible that way as the keymap is layed out command = key key = list of commands would be better, then i could maybe add some more commands. Is it maybe possible with VDR user commands to define a sequence of actions? Basically what i want is to have two keys that switch the channels up/down and also display the program menu (what is on on this channel). Hello, an additional amplifier for the signal solved the problem. So it was HW related. Best regards Thanks for the hints, Torsten Am Sonntag, 13. Re: [vdr] VDR wird in 3:00 Minuten ausschalten
Hi, ok, this could be a solution, i'd rather like to use the VDR internal parts but an external script that logs user activity and sends a command to VDR would be possible. So when there are active recordings or the next recording would be due in 5 minutes the VDR would NOT switch off? Even if it gets the hitk power? Best regards Torsten Am Donnerstag, 17. Why don't you set the timer to 0, to disable internal VDR shutdown, and instead send a svdrpsend hitk power when everybody is logged out? ___ vdr mailing list vdr@linuxtv.org http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/vdr
Re: [vdr] VDR wird in 3:00 Minuten ausschalten
Hi, i have set MinUserInactivity to 10. Pressing any button on the remote is very annoying, pressing a button gives me 5 minutes of warning free TV. I also thought about patching VDR sources and compiling it myself but i can't imagine that nobody else would benefit from that, i don't think my system setup is that special. To my understanding, making this a configuration option would make everybody happy and would maybe even be easier than writing a plugin. If you see this message and you press any key on your remote control, this message will disappear at least for as many minutes as you have set the inactivity timeout ... Wouldn't a MinUserInactivity = 0 disable the message because the user never gets inactive? Regards, Lars. Re: [vdr] searching a HW problem
Hi, thanks for your hints so far, but before buying new cards i'd like to clarify if the problem is related to HW or SW. Is there a way to detect from a recording if it was recorded on card 0 or card 1? Is there a way to code this into the recording name? Or is there any other way i can narrow the down what influences this problem? Best regards Torsten Am Sonntag, 13. Oktober 2013, 23:30:09 schrieb Torsten Mohr: Hello, I gave up on this card. It has been about 2 years since I last tried it, but the driver (mantis) had (and most likely still has) serious problems with some DMA timeouts, IIRC. Running irqbalance di help a little bit, but in the end I replaced the cards with something less broken. thanks for that hint. I spent some extra effort to get this card, it was hardly available at all. These cards worked fine in my previous VDR, i never experienced problems there. But on the other hand, what cards would you recommend? A double tuner would be preferred (DVB-C). Re: [vdr] VDR wird in 3:00 Minuten ausschalten
Hello, yes, i agree that there is no chance for VDR to know if an upcoming shutdown will succeed or not. But still it does not make sense on my system as the message now pops up every 5 minutes. So i know pretty sure that VDR is NOT going to shutdown. The message shown VDR wird in 3:00 Minuten ausschalten does not make sense on my system. If I understand you correctly, then the system will shut down once there is no logged in user. In this situation, the message does make sense, and it would be awkward if VDR shuts down after the last user logs off without any further warning. VDR doesn't know much about what might have stopped shutdown externally, so the only way is to frequently retry. And since VDR never knows if shutdown will succeed, until the final termiante call, there needs to be a warning beforehand. After all, since there was no interactive usage for a long time, its very unlikely that there's someone actually seeing the shutdown messages pop up every few minutes. There's a more complex plugin interface to shutdown, where even the shutdown message can be suppressed while busy, but there's no easy way to extend this to external scripts. One could however write a plugin that provides more complex interaction with external scripts, like ask for shutdown, and accepting something like wait for 5 more minutes in return, without displaying messages. [vdr] no tv image, recording is ok
Hi, on my VDR PC i've set up openSuse 11.3 and i configured and compiled vdr-1.7.15 from source (no RPM). I also installed kernel 2.6.35 (compiled myself) with DVB support for my Technisat CableStar HD2. First test: Starting kaffeine, the card is detected and channels can be scanned. But if i select a channel i hear sound for half a second, then kaffeine crashes. No TV image could be seen before. I configured and installed w_scan, i got a Channels.conf with it that looks ok. I then configured and compiled softdevice-1.6.0 (with changes to make it compile). I can start vdr -Psoftdevice -vo xv: and see the VDR menu in a window. I can see the channels and also start recording. I can view the recorded stream with MPlayer, great quality. But i can see no TV image in VDR. Can anybody tell me what i need to change or what additional tests i need to do to see TV output in VDR?
