Re: Fleksy observation.
Sandy Thanks for writing here. We monitor the list sometimes, but please write to us at supp...@fleksy.com. We are currently preparing the next version of Fleksy, and would like to know of any bugs so we can fix them for the next update. My colleagues at support will help with your problem and, if there is a bug, will try to replicate it on our devices so we can identify it and kill it dead (smile). Plus, I am still experiencing quite a long loading time. Hmmm, as I haven't seen messages other than those of praise since the last update, I can only imagine it is user error, i probably need to practise, but I did just get on with the first version from the get go. I wonder if it would be possible to toggle Fleksy with the more traditional method for those times when one wants to put in, say, an email address? I am finding it very frustrating with the present method. I find I keep cancelling a lot of what I have written. Plus, there seems to be a problem getting some words to be recognized. Fleksy on Android devices
Hi from the Fleksy team. We are writing to ask a question to those in the list. As you know, we are committed to develop Fleksy and make it available for more and more users. One of the restrictions we've had so far, is that on iOS, Fleksy cannot replace your system keyboard across the device. We provide as much integration as possible, letting you email, SMS, tweet, and (soon) post to Facebook from within Fleksy. And you can copy and paste to any other app. We are trying to go beyond this: we could provide Fleksy as a keyboard across the device, so you can use it in every single app without the need to have a separate app, or to copy and paste. We've also noticed that Android is becoming more and more accessible for visually impaired users with each update. So, here's a question for the list: If there was a phone that was accessible, and that had Fleksy built in from the start. By built in, we mean that Fleksy could be used as a system keyboard on every app, and that Fleksy would come with the phone, i.e. without having to purchase the app separately. How likely would this be to make you consider buying such a device? Obviously we are talking about a hypothetical scenario, so for now let's assume all other features will be the same as your current device. Would the availability of Fleksy as a system typing mode to use in every app make you consider an accessible Android phone in your next upgrade? Looking forward to your thoughts on this. Re: Fleksy on Android devices
All Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate this is a iPhone list, with iPhone fans, so we knew the subject is controversial. We know for a fact that a few developers are planning to bring big improvements to the Android platform, and we want to offer Fleksy as another option for accessibility. As you know we have devoted a lot of our energy on iOS and will continue to do so, but we just wanted to ask you what dozens of people have also asked us over Twitter and email in recent days. We take the answer to be: you are concerned about accessibility of the Android platform and ecosystem overall as it stands today. You wan to run Fleksy and this is a good plus point if it's on Android, but only if the Android device itself is accessible too. Anyway, thanks for your thoughts. Those who follow us know we are developing Fleksy a lot - in fact we are beta testing our next (iOS) release right now. So don't worry, the original question does not mean our commitment to iOS has changed in any way, but we just wanted to hear different opinions. Thanks again. Eileen We noticed this post here and thought to jump in. There are very few users who experienced this problem (less than 0.5%). When I do by either putting it up to my ear or tapping 3 times on home, I find I want to re-word or fix a word or just put in another word way at the beginning of my email. Is there a way to do this in Fleksy? If not, when I get to the front screen and before I actually put it in an email is there a way to do this. Do I have to put it in an email and then flick up and down and use the Apple keyboard to correct? As there is no voice in Fleksy, as there is in Jaws, I sometimes put words in that are not correct tenses just because I am concentrating on keeping sentences going and forget what I was typing.
