RE: Face ID and iTunes-App Store Question Please.
Hi Anthony, That is the exact number I used to call Apple Accessibility. I will have to wait until Wednesday now to see if Apple can figure this out, as they are lost on this one! I'm lost on this one as well! Smile! Apple is all about security, so I'm sure they will find some way to figure this out. Hi Anthony, I just called Apple Accessibility, and low in behold, the rep couldn't even understand me using Voiceover. I didn't know it, but I ended up calling Apple Accessibility somewhere in the Philippines even though, I used the exact same phone number as I always have! RE: Face ID and iTunes-App Store Question Please.
Hi Anthony, I think you're right. I went into the settings, and I turned off face id for the iTunes-app store, and I tried turning it back on, and now the phone won't let me turn it back on, because sometimes turning a feature off and then back on helps, but not this time. I also noticed I had turned on use face id to open my Outlook inbox, and that is not working either! I've also noticed I for the first time have to hold my phone very close to my face to unlock my phone, and I didn't used to have to do that. Ok, here I go calling Apple Accessibility, and I'm sure they will help me with this, and they will have a logical reason is to why this is happening. I will report back. Thank you. Face ID and iTunes-App Store Question Please.
HI Everyone, I have face id set up on my XR phone, and I also use face id to the app store, well, I wanted to download a couple free apps, but I kept getting the message to enter my password as well as my security code, so I enter all that information. I thought if I had face id set up to the app store I wouldn't have to enter all that information. Ok, after I enter all that information, I then get a message saying I need to enter my credit card number, so I enter that, I then get a message saying I need to enter the expiration date as well as the security code of my card. My question is why do I need to log in using my password and security code, if I already have face id set up for the app store? Why do I have to enter my credit card and expiration date-security code, as I already have that information on my phone? Can some kind soul tell me why is this please, especially when I might be downloading a free app? Thank you all in advance. Personally, I find that method slow as that control is a bit of a pain to find, so I place 4-fingers at bottom of screen to quickly access last few contacts in the list and implement a similar procedure to get to contacts within a certain range then make refinements. Then again, asking Siri for specific contact information is fastest method at times as she can do all the sifting work. :) JR -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Richard Turner Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2016 4:03 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Searching the App Store Question In the contacts, you can also use the table Index to move more quickly through the list. Re: Searching the App Store Question
I have tried every way possible to see more of the results when doing a search, but I only see the first page which is about 39 results. I have been frustrated over this for a long time. This is one reason I will not update my iPod 5th generation which is running IOS 6.13. I am still able to search in the App Store on that device and then when I find what I specifically want, I search for that app on the iPod 6th generation running IOS 9.34. I have tried flicking with one finger, swiping with three fingers, everything I can think of and I can still only see the first set of results. -Original Message- From: Richard Turner Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2016 11:35 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Searching the App Store Question You can try a three finger swipe from right to left. app store question
I've just notice now that I'm on my new phone that the app store sometimes shows "Get" and sometimes "Download" by the app I'm looking to acquire. Why the difference? I don't recall this "Download" option in the past. -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list. app store question on how to get out of screen
Hello all: In the app store when you tap to see the description there used to be a cancel button that would bring you back to the page with all the titles at the bottom. How can you do this now? I seem to get into screens where there is no way out, not even tapping search or updates since those icons are not there. Only thing I can do is totally turn off the phone. Re: app store question on how to get out of screen
There should be a BACK button in the upper left corner, which will take you back to the list of apps. RE: using the app store question.
Hi Simon, If you can sign in to the Apple Store on the computer and not on the phone it means that you either type your email or your password incorrectly. There are a few things you can do: First, I have a keyboard shortcut set up for my email address since many websites ask for my email to log in. I use EEP (double e and a p) for my personal email and EEB (that's a double E and a B) for my business email. Any 2 or 3 letter combination is fine, but it's good to use a letter combination that doesn't necessarily happen a lot at the beginning of a word. You can set up keyboard shortcuts in Settings, General, Keyboard and Shortcuts. Tap the Add button at the top right of the screen, then fill in your word, phrase or email address and the shortcut you want to use. When you type the shortcut, for example, if you set up SW for Simon Wong, then after you type SW you have to make sure you type a space or return because that is what tells iOS that this shortcut is supposed to expand. That usually means that after you type the email shortcut in a login field you type a space, but it's a good idea to delete that space again because some websites won't recognize your email address if there is a space behind it. Now, as for the password, you can't use shortcuts here for security reasons. I suggest you open an app like Notes and practice typing your password which allows you to review it afterwards letter by letter to make sure you have it correct especially if there is upper and lower case, numbers and/or special characters. It is also a good idea to flick out of the password field and back into it to hear Voiceover say 8 characters, 10 characters or whatever the number of characters in your password is. Since the characters are hidden you only hear character, but at least Voiceover says how many characters there are and if you know how many characters your password has at least you know that you didn't accidently type a character too many or are short a character. You don't need to rotor before swiping up and down as it should be on adjust value anyway whenever you focus on an adjustable control. Re: App store question
If you move to the Genius tab at the bottom, which is the third tab from the left, and then move up just a slight bit, you will her something similar to your search and it will say so many of so many. Just touch there and the swipe up with a finger to see other results. If you want to read more about the app once you have landed on it, move up near the top left corner and find the name of the app and double tapp on it’s name. Or if you have headings checked in the rotor, you can get to it that way, it will be heading number 1, just double tap to read all about the app. From: Sherrie Sent: Sunday, November 25, 2012 4:29 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: App store question When I do a search in the app store only one result is visible on the screen. App Store Question
Hi folks, One thing that really annoys me about using the app store since IOS 6 is that whenever I check out an app update, I can't seem to find out what's actually been changed. I just get the typical information that I'd see if I was checking the app out for the first time. Why is that and how can I get the scoop on what's actually changed with an app update? Thanks in advance. Tom -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group. Re: App Store Question
Hi Tom, Another way you can access the What's New information is to change your rotor setting to Headings. Then you can flick down with one finger to navigate by heading to the What's new Heading, then flick right and you can read the information. Then a one finger flick up will reverse you to the top of the headings list. I remember that when I was having difficulty adjusting the Rotor Settings, David encouraged me to learn that gesture as it's an integral part of using VoiceOver. He was certainly correct about that! App store question
Hi, About 2 weeks ago when I go to install an app from the store I get a message that says Where and 25 other items could not be purchased at this time. I then tap on OK and then things are as normal. As far as I know I'm not missing Where and 25 other items. Also, there is an app update that just sits there and won't update. It's been there for weeks and it's not been enough of a priority for me to mess with it so there it sits. Anyone know anything about these issues? They are only mildly annoying but got my curiosity going. Thanks, Kim -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the VIPhone Google Group.
