Thanks Sieghard,
You have resolved the mystery. It never occurred to me to turn off photos in
iCloud.
Thanks again man.

Cris

Hi Chris,

If you want to see your iPhone as a drive on your PC and copy pictures this way
you have to turn off iCloud Photo Library in Settings > iCloud.

Best regards,
Sieghard

Thanks folks,
Your suggestion and advice was very helpful. I changed my apple ID email
address and things seem to be normal.
I have another question though, In iOS nine and before, I used to be able to
access parts of my iPhone as an external drive when I connect it to PC for
instance, I used to have access to the photos and videos. Now in iOS ten, I
cannot see my iPhone listed as one of the drives when I connect my phone to the
computer. Therefore, I no longer have direct simple access to the photos and
videos as I did in the past. Is there a setting to make my phone become
visible again when connected to my computer?

Cheers,
Cris

Hi Chris,

As others have pointed out it is no problem to change your Apple Id.
Essentially your Apple Id is whatever email address you used when you set it
up. The only time it would be a problem is if you absolutely cannot get back
into your old account. If you can log in then do what Pablo suggested, log in
with your old email address and password, then go to where it says "Change my
Apple Id" and register your new email address. I think you will get a
confirmation email you have to acknowledge, but it's pretty self-explanatory
once you get started.

Yes, this is what I do in order to subscribe to NOW TV on my Apple TV 4th

re: How can I change my apple ID without loosing my purchased items?

2016-11-28 Thread rajmund

Hello,
No clues how, but you can just change the email address on
appleID.apple.com somewhere which would mean you retain
everything. Again, don't have any more details at the minute.

Subject: How can I change my apple ID without loosing my
purchased items?

Hello folks,
I want to change my apple id> However, my understanding is that
the apple Id is connected to the email address. I no longer want
to keep the same email address, which means I will have to change
my apple Id. The problem is that I am afraid if I log on to my
iPhone and iPad using a new apple id would make me lose my
purchased apps and books. I have already invested several
hundred dollars on these things and I do not wish to lose them,
or lose access to updates.

Is there a way of changing apple id without causing such a mess?
I appreciate your suggestions
Regards,

Cris.

Re: How can I change my apple ID without loosing my purchased items?

2016-11-28 Thread Lois Butterfield
Yes, this is very important. I have changed my ID quite a while back. I
forgot my password and then couldn’t remember how I answered the questions. I
haven’t been able to update about 15 apps that I bought under that ID. Until I
answer the questions the right way, I’ll never get back into that ID.

Take care,
Lois

Hi Cris

If you set up another iTunes account with a new email address you need to make
sure that you save all iTunes login & password information without this
information you will not be able to update any of the apps that you have paid
for. And if you would ever need to delete an app that you have paid for you
will need the old iTunes login & password so you can redownload the app without
having to pay for them again.

To give an instance, several updates back I had to delete my Bookshare app
because for some strange reason when I updated the app I lost all of the voices
I had purchased disappeared. So to avoid having to purchase the voices again I
had to login to my old iTunes & redownload the voices from my old iTunes
account.

Donna I had changed my Apple ID with no problems.

Re: How can I change my apple ID without loosing my purchased items?

2016-11-28 Thread Harry Bell
My father in law no longer uses the email address which he used to set up as
his Apple ID. He found he could easily change the email address Apple uses to
communicate with him, so he did that because he reckoned his app purchases are
tied to the specified Apple ID not to the email address Apple happens to use to
communicate with him. This works now for him. Harry

am afraid if I log on to my iPhone and iPad using a new apple id would make me
lose my purchased apps and books. I have already invested several hundred
dollars on these things and I do not wish to lose them, or lose access to
updates.
Is there a way of changing apple id without causing such a mess?
I appreciate your suggestions>
Regards,

Cris.
