If you can get to the app switcher see what is running and try closing

restoring from iCloud was one of them but I think there was such a choice.

Like I said, you have nothing to lose in trying and seeing what comes up.

 Hello All,
I am in need of some assistance if anyone can figure out what I can do, or
 I
just may have to go to the apple store.
Yesterday, my phone was sitting on a table, and I locked the phone and
turned voiceover off, so it wouldn't make any noise in a meeting.
I decided, it would be best to just turn the phone off so I did as usual
pressing the power button until Siri said slide or double tap to turn off,
and then I double tapped and it shut down.
Later, when I turned the phone back on, it did not come up asking me to
enter my pass code, but rather it didn't say anything.
I pressed the home button and started swiping left and right and it would
only say, help listen and the power battery level.
I pressed the power button and the home button 5 times, and didn't help
 any.
I later had a sighted person who knows a lot about technology and the I
phone look at it, and she played with it for four hours and finally gave
 up.
I can tell Siri to do things like call someone check messages and so forth,
but to actually get to apps and things it will not let me do that.
This afternoon, I got it to tell me that I needed to insert my pass code to
unlock which I did enter, but it said it could not unlock the phone.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Subject: I phone 5

Hello All,
I am in need of some assistance if anyone can figure out what I
can do, or

I
just may have to go to the apple store.
Yesterday, my phone was sitting on a table, and I locked the
phone and
turned voiceover off, so it wouldn't make any noise in a
meeting.
I decided, it would be best to just turn the phone off so I did
as usual
pressing the power button until Siri said slide or double tap to
turn off,

and then I double tapped and it shut down.
Later, when I turned the phone back on, it did not come up
asking me to

enter my pass code, but rather it didn't say anything.
I pressed the home button and started swiping left and right and
it would

only say, help listen and the power battery level.
I pressed the power button and the home button 5 times, and
didn't help

any.
I later had a sighted person who knows a lot about technology
and the I
phone look at it, and she played with it for four hours and
finally gave

up.
I can tell Siri to do things like call someone check messages
and so

forth,
but to actually get to apps and things it will not let me do
that.
This afternoon, I got it to tell me that I needed to insert my
pass code

to
unlock which I did enter, but it said it could not unlock the
phone.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

If you can get to the app switcher see what is running and try closing all

Hello All,
I am in need of some assistance if anyone can figure out what I can do, or I
just may have to go to the apple store.
I pressed the power button and the home button 5 times, and didn't help any.
I later had a sighted person who knows a lot about technology and the I
phone look at it, and she played with it for four hours and finally gave up.
Thank you,

Hello,
Thank you for your response, but the issue is not voiceover.
The issue is that it is stuck in something.

Did you try a triple home click? Mind you you can only do that if
you set it

to triple home click. You may Need to go to settings, general,
accessibility and then voice over on turn it on.
Sighted people I've found don't know much about voice over, and
where to
find it. I've had to tell the salesmen in the shops how to get
it, so don't
think that because this person is good technically, but she may
not know

where to find voice over at all. Well that's my two cents
worth.-Original Message-

Hi Robert,

I think I can help you but you won't like it.
I had something similar happen and called Apple Care.
First, you need to plug your phone to your computer.
Second, you need to press the home button along with the power
button and
hold for 30 seconds to a minute. It will talk to you when it is
ready. You
will be asked if you want to restore your phone which is what you
want
If you try to restore your phone without doing this, it will tell
you that
you need to turn off Find my phone in Settings which you can't
get to

because your phone is locked.
if you have backed up your phone to your computer. That will
restore your

phone to what it was when you backed it up.
Make sure you don't click on Setup my phone as a new phone
When it is finished restoring, it will synch and all your apps
will come

back onto your phone.

If you don't have a backup, then you are S O L and you will
definitely have
to call Apple Care and I have no idea what they will do at that
point.

Hi Robert,

I can't remember if it gave that option but you have nothing to lose.

Connect your phone to your computer and hold the 2 buttons for 30 seconds to
a minute. It comes up with more than one choice but I can't remember if
restoring from iCloud was one of them but I think there was such a choice.

Like I said, you have nothing to lose in trying and seeing what comes up.

Good luck!
