Yes, I meant turning the phone off completely and then turn it back on after 20

Have you rebooted your phone. I still experience the opposite at times, I have
it set to lock after 1 minute and found that in previous versions of iOS, e.g.
14, 13, it would sometimes not lock and I am pretty sure it is still doing that
in iOS 15 as well. I can fix this by rebooting the phone.

Also, I checked, and my screen lock is still set for never, yet, now, it is
locking on its own.

I am beginning to think that 15 is a great big mess!

Well we certainly appreciate the straight forward instructions. We will see
what sounds we miss over the next few days and evaluate from there!

Thanks again to all.

verbalize whether or not the screen was locked. It didn't matter to me because
when I do have the Sounds turned on, I'd rather hear that tone than the voice

Re: Screen Locked

2017-09-08 Thread Nicola Sanders
Hi,

I think this just goes to show how we're all creatures of habit. I often have
to work in a virtually silent environment and so I use my iPhone with a Braille
display. I found it a hassle to remember to turn sounds on and off each time in
addition to turning the speech off, and so I just stopped turning the sounds
back on after a while. I've got very used to not having them and now I've
basically forgotten what I'm supposed to need them for. I think Sieghard is
right, Apple should provide more flexibility and allow people to choose whether
they have a "screen locked" message or a sound, regardless of other settings. I
like my "screen locked" message, mainly because it's what I'm used to.

Best

Nicky

but not at the expense of loosing all other sounds.
In a way this is a trivial thing and I wonder who the heck at Apple has nothing
better to do than to come up with these things which of course also take time
to implement where they could spend that time fixing more important issues.

Hi Richard and Rich. In iOS 10, if you want screen locked announced, you'll
have to turn off sounds in Settings/General/Voiceover. HTH.
