Mayberry Days Silent Auction Results

2022-09-26 Thread Jeff Koontz
The dust has settled on another WBMUTBB Silent Auction and it was our biggest
year with a total of $6,246 raised for the Surry Arts Council this year. So
many people to thank for their help with donations, assistance, and bidding. We
tried something new this year with the TAGSale "Buy It Now" price and that was
a success in reducing inventory quickly and letting people acquire something
without having to wait. A special thanks to auctioneers James Pierce and Eric
Lowery for their willingness and abilities.

Some valuable lessons learned having gone through a little different format
this year. One is needing a couple more volunteers to help with some specific
tasks so if you are thinking you would like to be a part of the fun, please let
me know. I've had a bucket on my head since Saturday and thought about a couple
new things we might try next year.

There are things that came in this year that didn't make it out to the tables,
along with items that have been waiting for years to make an appearance, so
keep your creativity going to make those great Mayberry items and plan for our
24th auction(s) next year at the 34th annual Mayberry Days.

Mayberry Days - Silent Auction update

2019-09-30 Thread Jeff Koontz
We had another successful WBMUTBB Silent Auction this year raising $3,563.00
for the Surry Arts Council. Many thanks to those of you able to help out,
donate, stop by to view, and bid. A special thank you to Dewey Lamb for all the
great things he created for this year's auction. You beat everything!

Welford - it may be easier to get taller performers than raise the Playhouse
stage. ha!

I expect the photos from the festival will be ready by next week. I will let
the Digest know when they are online. TAGS Director Gary Nelson's son Garrett
is even sending his for Surry Arts to post so there will be lots of good photos
from the week.

WBMUTBB Silent Auction

2019-09-21 Thread Jeff Koontz
With the Digest laying low over the summer, I failed to send out a reminder
about the WBMUTBB Silent Auction during Mayberry Days. This coming Saturday
will be our 20th one! We'll be set up in front of the Playhouse (under some
shade tents!)

Most people are aware of what it is all about, so I won't go into the details
beyond a brief reminder to email me directly if you want more info or have
something to donate.  Many thanks to everyone who has already done so.

It is most helpful to know what is coming in advance so I can make a bid sheet
before Saturday morning. Please let me know if you have a donation, can help me
organize things beforehand, or can help during the auction on Saturday after
the parade from 10a to Noon.

At the least, stop by and see all the great things we have this year,
especially Dewey Lamb's new plaques and framed items. Photos of some of the
things are at:

WBMUTBB Silent Auction

2018-10-01 Thread Jeff Koontz
Thank you to all who helped out again with this year's WBMUTBB Silent Auction -
donating items, helping on Saturday, and bidding. We raised $4,795.75 which is
the second highest total in the 20 silent auctions we've had! All of the
proceeds from our chapter's annual community service project go to the Surry
Arts Council to support Mayberry Days.
I'll second Maryann's special thank you to Dewey Lamb for once again bringing a
car load (literally) of GREAT items for this year's auction. It is always fun
to see the creative things he makes and how popular they are. Dewey - you're a
prince. I real prince.
I have to share a story I was told on Saturday night - two ladies were bidding
on a box full of Dewey's items and the price was getting really high until one
of them had to bow out. She was disappointed that she did not get the one thing
in the box she wanted - the bottle of Colonel Harvey's Indian Elixor. At the
hotel, she ran into the woman who she was frantically bidder against her later
that morning and after talking about the auction, the women went back to her
room, got the bottle and gave it to her as a gift. The Mayberry spirit is alive
and well.

Mayberry Days WBMUTBB Silent Auction

2018-09-12 Thread Jeff Koontz
We are but weeks away from Mayberry Days and the WBMUTBB chapter's annual
Silent Auction. This will be our 19th auction and your generosity over the
years has made this a success. We have some new friends who have created some
outstanding items for this year, so please stop by on Saturday morning in front
of the Playhouse right after the parade.

For the new WBMUTBB members, the Silent Auction is our chapter's annual
community service project to support Mayberry Days. For many years, talented
and creative members of WBMUTBB have been generous with donations of Mayberry
related things for the auction - handmade items, memorabilia, autographed
items, and special one-of-a-kind things that you can't buy in the stores. All
donations are tax deductible.

There are three ways to help - donating an item, donating your time, and
bidding on auction items. Bidding is from 10 a.m. to Noon.  If you have
something to donate, would like to help, have a question, or just want more
information, please send me an email. Remember it is most helpful to let me
know in advance of any item your plan to donate so I can have a bid sheet ready.

It is always fun seeing the great stuff people donate and spending time with
our Mayberry community that Saturday and hope you will drop by. The current but
far from complete list of items, along with some photos is at
http://www.surryarts.org/mayberrydays/fun/silentauction.html.

Mayberry Quilt and donate one to the Silent Auction

2018-02-09 Thread Steve Cooke
I had a question about the quilt and possible auction. Would we be able to
set it up so that those of us not fortunate enough to attend could still buy
tickets and just pay shipping if we were lucky enough to win? Although I
will probably be like Henry "The Jinx" Bennett and draw out the hat size,
just thought it would open up the possibility of making a lot more money
that way.

WBMUTBB Silent Auction 2017

2017-09-25 Thread Jeff Koontz
Good news and a math error to report. I am pleased to announce that this year's
total for the WBMUTBB Silent Auction was $3,935. I had an error in my new
spreadsheet and double counted the cash, so the total reported at the TAGSRWC
annual meeting was too high so my apologies for that. I will have to talk to
Mr. Meldrim at the bank about using one of his machines next year!
Many thanks to everyone who donated items, helped out and bid on Saturday. An
extra thank you to Brian Rose for bringing the tent, to Scott Higgins for the
help organizing on Friday night and of course, Dewey Lamb for another car load
full of great items.
The post-MD dust is still settling, but I'll get the donation forms and thank
you letters out ASAP. Know that the money raised by our auction makes a
significant difference to the Surry Arts Council and they are very appreciative
of our support.

DVD at Silent Auction

2017-09-16 Thread ctmidway58
OK...time to let everyone know. We made our trip to Mayberry, had a pork chop
sandwich, visited a few stores and mainly Mayberry on Main to visit Debbie and
Daryl but he wasn't aroundthen took our 'stuff' to the Arts Council for the
auction. The one item you should all be bidding on is not the sequel but the
REAL movie of The Killer Shrews, co-starring James Best and Ken Curtis,"Festus"
who also directed this classic. It is an unopened DVD so whoever gets it will
be the first one to watch it! This dates back to 1959 so just before TAGS
started.
Take some cash with you and help make this auction a huge success, and Jeff,
let us know who gets it and how much...which I'll keep to myself!!
Enjoy the Days, wish we could be with you!

Mayberry Days WBMUTBB Silent Auction

2016-08-13 Thread Jeff Koontz
We're coming up on the one month before Mayberry Days and the WBMUTBB chapter's

The Silent Auction is held on Saturday of the festival in front of the Andy

MD15 Silent Auction Report

2015-09-28 Thread Jeff Koontz
Many thanks to all of the WBMUTBB members and friends who made this year's
silent auction at Mayberry Days another successful event. The total this year
was $3,703.25 (almost $500 more than last year). We had 94 items from 23
different WBMUTBB members who donated items and 11 volunteers, including a
couple new ones who did great! I will be working to get the donation forms for
your tax records and thank you letters out in the next week or so. A special
thank you to Dewey Lamb who created 1/3 of the items available in this year's
auction. He's a prince. A real prince.

I appreciate all of you who stopped by to bid, visit and the fortunate ones who
were able to take something memorable home. Our running total over 16 auction
is up to $47,731.50 for SAC to host Mayberry Days, programs at the Andy
Griffith Museum and other art programs in Andy Griffith's hometown.

Keep a good thought for better weather next year when we can have it outside
again. And keep a bucket on your head for donation ideas for MD16.

WBMUTBB Silent Auction

2015-07-26 Thread Jeff Koontz
Mayberry Days is fast approaching so I thought I would post my annual reminder
of our WBMUTBB Silent Auction during Mayberry Days. This is our chapter's
annual service project during Mayberry Days that supports the Surry Arts
Council. Many thanks to 15 years of generosity from our members who make
donations of time, talents and fun Mayberry items. 100% of the proceeds go to
SAC in support of Mayberry Days. We already have some great items donated and
welcome more. We have great volunteers and would love to have more help out on
the big Saturday, right after the parade, in front of the Andy Griffith
Playhouse (or on the stage in case of rain) from 10a to Noon.

If you have any questions or would like to help out this year in any way -
Mayberry related donations, volunteering your time or bidding, please contact

MD14 WBMUTBB Silent Auction wrap up

2014-10-05 Thread Jeff Koontz
The dust is settling on the 15th Annual WBMUTBB Silent Auction and I'm wrapping
up the thank you letters and donation forms. A few fun trivial trivialities
on this year's auction...

 - 28 different people contributed items or helped out on Saturday
 - They were from 13 different states: NC, SC, TN, IL, IN, VA, AL, WI, GA, CA,
WV, OH FL
 - The most popular item had 16 bids
 - High bids ranged from $5 to $160 (historic high is still $625 for Don Knotts
autographed squad car cookie jar)
 - The $3,214.50 this year brings the total raised from 15 auctions to
$44,028.25
 - Countless number of people placed a bid (well, I could count them, but I'm
still tired from all the fun :)

I tend to get a lot of credit for the silent auction, but this tells me there
are so many others in our Mayberry Community that help make the auction
successful. As members of WBMUTBB, know that the Surry Arts Council appreciates
the support, both financially through our silent auction and in your
participation at Mayberry Days. It is a unique festival, not without its
challenges and struggles, but is a great opportunity for TAGS fans to celebrate
together and it is fun for me to be a part of helping make it happen. If you
have never attended the festival, I encourage you to go next year!

Silent Auction

One of the items I am taking for the silent auction is an LP by Doug
Dillard and Gene Clark. The photo appears to show a very young Doug. Don't know

how old this is, but it should bring a good amount at the auction. If you
are into Doug's playing, you surely want to bid on this item. It plays, and
plays well. I played it one time, downloading it to my computer so I can
listen any time I wish!!
Happy Biddingand also, a couple of photo albums from YEARS ago of
Mayberry Days, one of which has photos of Goober when he came to the Days!!
All great photos taken by yours truly, and a treasure! Hope someone will

WBMUTBB Silent Auction at Mayberry Days

2014-08-20 Thread Jeff Koontz
We're coming up on the one month countdown to the 25th Mayberry Days festival.
Our chapter's annual service project is the WBMUTBB Silent Auction. This will
be our 15th auction! All of the proceeds benefit the Surry Arts Council's
efforts to host Mayberry Days.

The Silent Auction is held on Saturday of the festival in front of the Andy

generous with donations of Mayberry related things for the auction - handmade
items, memorabilia, autographed items, and special one-of-a-kind things that
you can't find in the stores. All donations are tax deductible.

There are three ways to help - donating an item, donating your time, and
bidding on auction items. If you do not feel creative, you can help prepare for
and during the auction. It is only a couple hours and gives you a chance to
visit with people and help out others  - just like Mayberry! Bidding is from 10
a.m. to Noon. Remember you must be present at Noon to pay for your item and
take home your treasures.

If you have something to donate, would like to help, have a question, or just
want more information, please send me an email (hey2goo...@yahoo.com). It is
most helpful to let me know in advance of any item your plan to donate so bid

Many thanks to everyone who supported the WBMUTBB Silent Auction on Saturday.
This year's total was $2,507.50, all of which went to the Surry Arts Council

but we ran out of table space (a good problem to have). I held these items for

Mayberry Days Silent Auction

2013-09-16 Thread Pat Coleman
Wow, Mayberry Days is next week and Neil and I are looking forward to being
there. If you have never attended, it is like a big family reunion where
everyone is friendly and knows exactly what you mean when you hear lines
from the show. No explanation is needed as we all understand the common
thread that runs among us.

The Silent Auction that is sponsored by the WBMUTBB chapter, under the
leadership of Jeff Koontz, is a great way to meet new friends and see ones
that you haven't seen since last Mayberry Days. The proceeds from the
wonderful items donated by members of our Mayberry Community and sometimes a
few from some of the cast members, benefit the Surry Arts Council. This is
a great way to add to your Mayberry Collection or buy a one of a kind gift
for that special person, have fun and support a very worthy organization.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Mayberry Days! Pat Coleman

Mayberry Days Silent Auction

2013-08-31 Thread Jeff Koontz
We are less than a month away from Mayberry Days! I thought I would share some
statistics about our chapter's annual community service project - the WMBUTBB
Silent Auction. The first year was 1999, so this will be our 14th event. During
that time, we have raised $38,306.25 for the Surry Arts Council (SAC) to help
make the festival come to life. That averages about $3,000 per year and shows
that WBMUTBB members care about Mayberry Days and want to help out, as well as
come and enjoy the fun in Mount Airy. I hope you will consider being a part of
this success. We have had some great volunteers and donations over the years
and welcome the help with on auction on the big Saturday, right after the
parade, in front of the Andy Griffith Playhouse (or on the stage in case of
rain) from 10a to Noon.

A few interesting things to know...

- 100% of the money goes to SAC for Mayberry Days - this is all done by WBMUTBB
members who volunteer their time and talents

- The money helped SAC bring in more cast members than the earlier years and
continue to bring favorite cast members back, year after year.

- At least one new cast member, writer, or director has been able to attend
each year

- The auction is over in about 2 hours, but helps creates almost 96 hours of
fun (4 days x 24 hrs if you don't sleep!)

- Helps pay for http://www.mayberrdays.com and online ticket sales

- WBMUTBB members are always the first group to know about MD updates and early
ticket sales

- Mayberry Days impacts the lives of 20-25,000 TAGS fans each year - it is like
a big family reunion for both the cast members and the fans

- Supporting the WBMUTBB Silent Auction helps make all this happen

If you have any questions or would like to help out this year in any way -
Mayberry related donations, volunteering your time or bidding, please contact
me at hey2goo...@yahoo.com. I look forward to another fun festival and great
WMBUTBB silent auction this year.

WBMUTBB, Mayberry days and the Silent Auction

2013-08-31 Thread foleysmarket

Mayberry Days 2013 is almost here and Joyce and I are so looking forward to
being there. This will be our 18th straight year to attend, and God willing,
we’ll be able to keep going year after year. MDs is an experience like none
other and one that every fan of The Andy Griffith Show would thoroughly enjoy.

We’re also looking forward to another successful year at the WBMUTBB silent
auction. Little did we know when we (WBMUTBB Chapter) first started the
auction that it would so successful that it would enable more TAGS stars to
attend each year. Some of our favorite MD treasures came from the auction and
are things we would have not had the opportunity to find elsewhere. We hope to
find some new treasures this year.

Being an auction volunteer has given us the chance to meet lots of TAGS fans,
many of which are now our friends. In fact, some of the fans that we always
seem to be bidding against are now much more than just friends, they are
family. For me, Mayberry Days is really a family reunion and once you start
attending, you’re part of the clan.

Happy motoring,

Surry Arts and WBMUTBB Silent Auction

Do yo have more information on the Surry Art Council?

Mayberry Days is the biggest event that the Surry Arts Council has each year,
but their calendar is full each month with community theatre, touring artists,
concerts, school programs, arts classes, movies, traditional music and dances
and a lot more. Please visit their website at http://www.surryarts.org/ to see
their upcoming calendar, along with many archived photos from events of the
past years. SAC also operates the Andy Griffith Museum, Siamese Twins Exhibit,
and Old-Time Music Heritage Hall at the Earle Theatre. Links to all these sites
are on the SAC home page. I'll go ahead and give a plug that they are in their
2013-14 Fund Drive and always enjoy having SAC members who live outside of
Surry County. I know there are a number of WBMUTBB folks who are long time
members.

Silent Auction

2013-02-03 Thread CTMIDWAY58
While strollin' thru the woods a day or 3 ago I decided I needed to go into
town fer a change, so come back to the cabin and cranked up the ol' puddle
jumper and away I went. Stopped in one a'them stores what sells stuff
don't nobody want but somebody else might and I found a VHS tape of the
Bio-graphy of Andy G. I don't need it but thunk someone might oughta have it
so
paid a whoppingHmmmph!! Ain't a'gonna tell ya what I paid fer it!!
Then a few days later I come across a DVD of Song For The Season with Andy,
Gerald McRaney and Naomi Judd. Whut I was sayin' is, I don't need 'em but
will donate 'em to the silent auction come Mayberry Days. Hopefully someone
will pay a little sumpin' fer 'em and help along the Surry Arts Council.
Oh...almost fergot to tell ya...the VHS Biography is still sealed in its
original plastic wropper.
I tell ya whatone day not long ago when I got up I peeked out the
winder and the woods had a slight haze of ice coatin' them. The sun was up
enough to make 'em glisten like diamonds and what a great reminder of how
little I can control this old world!! Almighty God put on a display I was
mighty proud to take a look at!
I'll check in a'fore long and letcha all know how my woods is farin' during
 these bleak cold days.

WBMUTBB Silent Auction

2012-10-02 Thread Jeff Koontz
I'm working on the follow up thank you's and donation forms for this year's
Silent Auction and thought I would share some statistics to show the talents of
our chapter.

34 different participants (most ever) with donations of time or auction
item(s), including 4 of the special guests
125 items for bid (most ever by far!)
65 different people were high bidders
Dewey Lamb had another item this year that spilled into a second bid sheet
Highest bid for one item was $325 (record is $625)

Thank you all who made this another success community service project during
Mayberry Days this year with $4,162.50 raised for the Surry Arts Council. Keep
the creative buckets on your head and we'll do this again during Mayberry Days
next year.

It's BIG!

Mayberry Days - WBMUTBB Silent Auction Results

2012-10-01 Thread Jeff Koontz
Despite the wet weather on Saturday morning, the WBMUTBB Silent Auction at
Mayberry Days this past weekend was another successful event thanks to so many
of you who helped out. Our total this year was $4,162.50! We had some great
items again this year and more importantly, new people helping and donating
items for the auction. All the proceeds go to the Surry Arts Council (they
'preciate it) to help put on the festival and support their many arts programs
throughout the year.

I'm still in bit of a haze from all the fun last week and have to get thank you
letters and donation forms out, but once the dust settles I'll post some
thoughts and observations on this year's festival. Photographs from the various
events should be on the website within a week - I'll post to the Digest when it
is available.

It's BIG!

Mayberry Days Silent Auction

2012-09-19 Thread Jeff Koontz
I have updated the Mayberry Days website with photos and a list of items that
have been donated for this year's auction. Always room for more if you have
something you'd like to donate. I'll put out another request for some help on
Saturday during the auction. I've heard from a couple regulars who are unable
to attend this year.

Mayberry Days Silent Auction

2012-09-08 Thread Jeff Koontz
If some of you would like to donate to the silent auction, but don't know what,
I will ask for help on a couple items that we need:

-  2 black 8x10 frames for autographed photos (Jean Carson and Michael Pollard)
-  mounting for 2 posters at Tally's Frame Shop in Mount Airy

The frames can be purchased in Mount Airy (Wal Mart or Dollar General) or
brought with you. Tally's is on Main Street does a great job of mounting
posters on foam board and shrinkwraps them for safe keeping. It probably is
about $10 per poster. I have the posters and will take them to Tally's and can
make arrangements with you for payment if you'd like to pick up the tab to make
something nice even nicer! Please email me at hey2goo...@yahoo.com if you would
like to help with any of these. One poster is the TV Land Andy Opie Statue
from 2003 in Raleigh and the other is a poster Gary Wedemeyer created in 2004
and is autographed by all the special guests that year, including all of The
Dillards.

We've got some great items donated and I'm working on a webpage on the Mayberry
Days website to include photos and the list of items. If you have something
Mayberry you would like to donate or can help out on Saturday, please contact
me.

Mayberry Days Silent Auction

2012-08-09 Thread Jeff Koontz
Mayberry Days will be here soon, so I will ask everyone to remember (or
introduce to our new members) our chapter's annual community service project
- WBMUTBB Silent Auction on the Saturday of Mayberry Days. This will be our
13th year! Members donate Mayberry items and create some great things that you
can't find in the store. It has been a very successful fund raiser for the
Surry Arts Council to host the festival each year and showcase the generous
talent that our TAGSRWC Chapter has.

If you have something you would like to include in the auction, can help on
Saturday right after the parade, or have any questions, please email me at
hey2goo...@yahoo.com. Be sure to stop by the tables in front of the Andy
Griffith Playhouse, say hey to your fellow Digest members, help the cause with
a bid and take home something fun for your Mayberry collection.

I'll post some of the items that have been donated - another batch of great
stuff this year thanks to WBMUTBB members!

Jeff

p.s. On Friday afternoon we have a meet and greet and annual Chapter photo -

WBMUTBB Silent Auction Results

2011-09-26 Thread Jeff Koontz
This year's WBMUTBB Silent Auction was one of the most successful in many
years, raising $4,463.50 for the Surry Arts Council (we had some add'l money
come in after my report at the TAGSRWC money). Many thanks to all of you who
helped out with donations, bidding, and working during the auction. It is a
community effort and I appreciate all the help that I get. The Surry Arts
Council appreciates the financial support that our chapter provides with our
project and there were a lot of happy faces on the folks who were high bidders
and took home some great things on Saturday. We had a number of donations
already come in for next year, so we'll do it again in 2012!

The post-Mayberry Days dust is still settling in Mount Airy and I will post a
link to the festival photos once I get them online. I've already seen some
great photos on Facebook from Allan and Jan and others, so be sure to look at
those and make plans to attend next year.

WBMUTBB Silent Auction Update

2011-09-14 Thread Jeff Koontz
A few more folks have donated some great items for the WBMUTBB Silent Auction -
a sweat jacket embroidered with Act Like Somebody, autographed photos, and
one of Hal Smith's special lighters, with accompanying photos. I'll put in
another request for some supplemental items (that can be purchased in Mount
Airy if you don't want to travel with them):

- Uniquely shaped bottle with tight seal for Meyers Lake water (no label)
- Five black frames for 8x10 photos
- orange blue items to put inside Mayberry glassware (marbles? confetti?
MMs? ribbons?)
- A small live plant to put inside a special TAGS mug

Please email me at hey2goo...@yahoo.com if you are willing to donate any of
these for the auction. We also need help during auction - it is easy and a fun
chance to visit with folks and support our chapter and the Surry Arts Council.
Please email if you can help.

things that need a little extra if someone would be willing to provide them:

Uniquely shaped bottle with tight seal for Meyers Lake water (no label)
three black frames for 8x10 photos

to the silent auction, unless I forget and leave them home!!

Thanks Welford! Mayberry Days will be here before we know it, so I'll introduce
to our new members and remind the rest of us about the WBMUTBB Silent Auction.
This is the annual service project of our internet chapter that is fund raising

handmade items, memorabilia, autographed items, and special one-of-a-kind
things that you can't find in the stores. We have inventoried some nice items
to date and welcome more. Donated items are tax deductible as a donation to a
non-profit organization and all the proceeds go to the Surry Arts Council.
There are three ways to help - donating an item, donating your time, and

creative, you can help prepare for and during the auction. It is only a couple
hours and gives you a chance to visit with people and help out others - just

each of you who have helped in the previous years and hope you will be able to

Also have some Jim Nabors albums, and a frame with 6 postmarked envelopes
from Mayberry Days past, and a large photo...think it is 11x14 of Don

Things are coming together nicely for the WBMUTBB Silent Auction. Two of our
regulars will be unable to be there on Saturday this year, so please consider
helping us out. We have a large number of items so could use some extra hands
(not Mr. McBeevee's 12 extra hands, but good volunteers). Remember that you can
also bid if you are helping out, so don't let that deter you. You also do not
need to be there for the full time.

WBMUTBB member Dewey Lamb has made some great items and sent me photos that I
have on a new Mayberry Days WBMUTBB Silent Auction page. The page also lists
most all of the items we'll have for bid this year.

Mayberry Days Silent Auction

2010-08-03 Thread Harriet Browder

I concur with JeffThe Silent Auction is AWESOME. So many cool things that
everyone should see and bid for to add to their TAGS related collection. And
the chickent thief here has gone and made a hand-made, very unusual item to
donate (It's actually in the glued stage right now and just perfect for your
coffee table.) Also, Jeff, I wish to donate my time manning one of the tables.
I don't want to man the table with my item on it - I might try to influence the
bidders and if there's one thing I hate it is a pushy salesman. I'd rather be
surprised after the auction to see what it draws in bids.

And donating your time helping the auction will give you the chance to chat
with folks and get faces to go with names you see here on the Digest. I had so
much fun last year watching the crowds - especialy those hovering around
waiting to up their antes when their bid was increased - they'd rush back over
and up the bid again. Let's make this special Mayberry Days even more special
and raise more $ than past years. The Surry Arts Council works so hard to put
on a great weekend, the least we can do is volunteer our time. So what do you
say, folks? Let's make this year the top dollar year. And no, my donated item
is not for chickens but could be a very special item for whatnots.

2009-09-29 Thread Harriet Browder

You can't ruin the spirit of Mayberry with any Mafia rain..Thanks, Jeff.
Glad to help. The Silent Auction is a wonderful way to meet other Digest folks
besides raising funds for the Surry Arts Council, so even if you're not
bidding, stop by and see what's offered. And say hey to whoever you're lucky to
be standing next to! Years ago I donated a Barney Album I made, the kind you
cover with material and decorate? I made Barney's front shirt, complete with
patch on the spine, badge, and bullet in the pocket. It raised a goodly sum,
and I got a request to make another one. See? You never know what might come
from a Maberry Silent Auction. We've got a whole year to get creative. Homemade
items do extremely well. So jump in where you can and hang on

Mayberry Days Silent Auction
