Re: [AI] Finding a Dating Partner
Rahul, You have been working in Delhi for a long time- 1. Ask your colleagues out. All dates don't have to be romantic and candle lit but can be fun dates-just dinner and good conversation. Ask your former colleagues as it will serve a dual purpose. 2. This will teach you how to choose the venue, escort your companion, , order the right meal and payment of the bill. 3. All dates don't land in bed nor do they all end with a kiss or even holding hands. So don't get too aggressive or disappointed. Hell This happens even with the Ministry of Social Justice's site too.. I have written several times to CCPD as well as the Ministry for making at least their own Websites and communications accessible but all inVAIN Almost all the docs uploaded by CCPD on their websites in pdf format are inaccessible with the screen reading softwares. I am not able to find what to do and how? but really pathetic to see such things happening in the organisations working for the persons with disabilities. Re: [AI] Finding a Dating Partner
hi, if you have a sighted friend who won't mind registering, and going along with you to those gatherings, that might reduce your awkwardness with a room full of strangers. it usually does help to an extent. i think the awkwardness itself comes from being alone among all those sighted pairs of eyes. so take a friend, but not 1 who might be out to steal your thunder, or your dates! smiles. good luck. [AI] Jaws strange problem
Hello friends, I have lenovo G5080 laptop and from last few months i am facing a strange problem My jaws starts speaking a particular character like "hyphen sign" at a very fast pace and it happens for some period of time and it stops. Initially, i thought it is virus hence i formatted my laptop. Almost 1 month it was working fine but today again i saw the signs of the old problem wherein jaws started speaking --- --- and it happend for quite a period of time and then it stopped. What can be a problem? Request group members to provide me with solution if any. Thanks Pranav. Just 1 question - I am wondering what kind of crowd you have found on OkCupid in particularly. My only concern is that many of these apps contain only busybodies and weirdos. While this is a problem for everyone, it is more so for us because of our unique vulnerability. Re: [AI] Finding a Dating Partner
Hi Shirin, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed response; these are precisely the kind of insights that I was looking for. I will definitely check out the resources that you have shared. The second one definitely seems worth trying. The only problem is that I am not very comfortable in a room full of strangers -- aa problem which is further exacerbated by my disability. Your tips are very helpful. I particularly agree with your points about not dating a stranger straightaway and widening one's social circle to find a partner. I am definitely working on all these areas and will keep your suggestions in mind. [AI] Suggestions For A Sensitization Drive For College Students
Respected Members, Myself Shubham Arya, a visually-impaired under-graduate student. We wnat to conduct a sensitization drive, in which we want our normal counterparts, to specially to come to terms with the attitudenal barriers which the disabled people face. Moreover, it should also focus on sharing a class-room with a disabled student, interracting with a disabled student, and how little things play a major role, for instance, in the case of a visually-impaired student, people can keep things in order in a room, so when he/she enters, he/she does'nt trample on any object, and things like that. Basically, we have two hours for this drive/workshop, and also be having volunteers to help to conduct the activities. If you have experiece of holding/attending activities of this nature, or you have any suggestion, then please share those with me. Please mail to me peronally, so as not to cause unnecessary trafic on the list Thanks Jesus Loves You All Shubham Arya Register at the dedicated AccessIndia list for discussing accessibility of mobile phones / Tabs on: http://mail.accessindia.org.in/mailman/listinfo/mobile.accessindia_accessindia.org.in Search for old postings at: http://www.mail-archive.com/accessindia@accessindia.org.in/ To unsubscribe send a message to accessindia-requ...@accessindia.org.in with the subject unsubscribe. Re: [AI] Problems relating to accessibility
Dear List Members, Thanks for encouraging response. The only problem is I don't use social media like Facebook or Tweater etc. Can anyone help me to post it on tweater so as to reach the Hon. Prime Minister who has initiated the cashless transaction move? Is there any way to reach his office through e-mail? Of course I would like to make it more appealing and clear. Please share views as well as experiences and ideas. You can also suggest ways to move the government to look into our problems in this regard. C. B.
