Re: [AI] Configuration of Punctuation for a Particular Application in Jaws 11.

2010-03-20 Thread niran

The possible solution is to create separate voice profile with save as
option in voice adjustment dialog box and set the Punctuation of the new
profile to what you need and then use that new profile in select voice
profile dialog for notepad.
For example you can have default Punctuation as most and create a new
profile with Punctuation some for few applications where you don't need
full Punctuation.

There are many programs which allows remote PC access, I wanted to know

I don't remember exactly but if you mistake in the query syntax, you can

correct it in the edit box as it preserve the query text.
Should use F6 or Ctrl + F6 to move in different control.
Also note, when you execute a query the focus shifts to the result pane and
you may have to do F6 or Shift F6 to move to query edit.
Or As an tweek alternate, you can select and copy the query text before
running it so that you can simply paste and edit it for rerun.
On top of everything, the behavior of preserving query text is controlable
from MySQL UI (contact your SQL Trainer for more information)- I am sorry -
it's been more than 4 years I have not touched SQL
 Hope this is helpful.

If I select all files and folders with ctrl+A inside it, what it does is that it excludes

Uploading individual contents of each subdirectories is not the good idea, as
there are plenty inside these three.
So, how to upload complete directoriy with subdirectories and files?

Would you like to recommend any other FTP client instead of FTP Explorer?

I am using the accessible version of FTP explorer, perhaps 1.0.

Hi Amar

When you get a domain, you will have a static IP mapped to that domain.
What you mean by dynamic IP relates to your internet connection which could
either be static IP or dynamic IP.
This particular IP is provided by your ISP.

amar,
Domain registration is the process by which a company or individual
can secure a website domain, such as www.yoursite.com. Once you have
completed domain registration the domain becomes yours for the period
of the contract, usually one year. Before registration expires it must
be renewed, or the domain reverts back to being available to the
general public.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN)
manages the international Domain Name Server (DNS) database. ICANN
insures that all registered names are unique and map properly to a
unique
Internet Protocol (IP) address.
Domain registration is available to the public via a registrar. Fees
and services vary from company to company, but the process is
generally inexpensive. Before a domain registration can be approved,
the new name must be checked against existing names in the DNS
database. The online registrar provides a field into which you can
enter your desired name and hierarchy —- that is, the letters that
come after the dot. Familiar hierarchies are .com, .net, .org,
.name, .info and .biz. If the name is not already taken, it is
available for domain registration.
Domain names can be registered through many different companies (known
as registrars) that compete with one another. A listing of these
companies appears in the ICANN.org website.
as per is tips or stuffs are concern, though there is no any
guideline or law is defined, but it is recommended that you take the
most appropriate hierarchy, for example, if your website is personal,
take it as .in, or.net, or something. if it's for an organization,
take it as .org, if it is for commercial use, then take as .com, .bis,
etc.
further, you need some logical skills while naming your domain,
taking care that it's unique, appropriate acording to your plot, and
easy-to-remember.
hope it helped somewhat.

Subject: [AI] is someone using net beans?

ok, though subject says that all, but just a bit more explaination.
Is anyone on the list using net beans (java compiler)?
Though I’ve been using eclipse for all my java programming needs, but
my college will soon start using net beans IDE.
So, I’d like to know if someone using the same for java programming,
then please give me a quick accessibility check.
Or, on the other hand, I’d like to know that what java compiler is
common in the blind programmer’s community.
Will be eagerly waiting for your responses whether on or off the list.
Please, help me!

Hi Ruchir,

secondly, while writing posts, i'm not able to understand the
interface. that is, i can see the title box, but, where to write the
whole post? explain for both blogspot and wordpress.
The blog entry box should be in same page, may be jaws isn't getting it?
Can't say for wordpress because haven't used it.

also, isn't it possible that i write an email to some id, ( like
ruchir.wordpress.com) and the messege gets posted as a blog entry?
Yes, as far as I know, it is possible with blogspot (blogger.com).

2008-09-22 Thread Niran
Hi George sir,

Yes we can directly post to blogger.
1. log in to blogger
2. go to settings
3. click on email
4. you will find a text field named
mail-to-blogger adress
enter any random value but which can be easily remembered For example if I
entered 1234, my new blogger mail address will be
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Any mails posted to that address will be posted automaticly (can be
configured) so the value you use should be random enough otherwise spammers
will be posting blog entries on your blog..

Indians lag behind Koreans, Japanese in Net search

New Delhi (PTI): An Indian netizen is hitting the search button on an
average 51 times during a month, but this puts them only at the last
position among the top 10 countries of Asia-Pacific in terms of intensity
 of
online search. According to the latest ranking of top Internet search
figures for Asia-Pacific released by Internet traffic tracking firm
comScore, Koreans have topped in terms of online search intensity with an
average of 102.8 searches per searcher during the month of July.
 Searchers
in Korea exhibited the heaviest search intensity with an average of 102.8
searches per searcher during the month, followed by Australia (102
 searches
per searcher) and Japan (100.8 searches per searcher), comScore said.
 India
has ranked after Korea, Australia, Japan, Singapore (91.2), New Zealand
 (87.2), Hong Kong (81), China (76.6), Taiwan (74.8) and Malaysia (64.2) on
search intensity ranking. India's score of 51 searches per searcher is
 even
lower than the overall average of 80.7 for the Asia-Pacific region.
 However,
the figures might increase after taking into account traffic from the
 public
computers. The comScore data has been compiled by taking into account all
unique Internet users aged 15 and above from their home and work computers
and it excludes searches from public computers such as Internet cafes or
access from mobile phones or PDAs. However, India fares much better in
 terms
of the number of people searching something on Internet as well as in
 terms
of the number of such searches. While India has been ranked third after
China and Japan in terms of total number of unique searchers, it is the
fourth in terms of number of searches after China, Japan, Korea and Japan.
China hosts more searchers than any other country in the Asia-Pacific
region, with 143.5 million searchers conducting 11 billion search queries
 in
July. Japan ranks second in both metrics, with 61 million searchers
conducting nearly 6.2 billion searches, comScore said. In comparison,
 India
had 23.4 million searchers conducting 1.2 billion searches during the
 month.
The study has also found that Google sites continued to lead the region
 with
33.5 per cent of more than 27 billion searches conducted in July.
 Baidu.com
ranked the second with 27.4 per cent search share, followed by Yahoo sites
in the third with 19.7 per cent share. Although Google leads the
Asia-Pacific search market, powerhouse Chinese search engine Baidu.com
follows closely on its heels with only a 6-per cent difference separating
the two, comScore executive vice-president for the Asia-Pacific region
 Will
Hodgman said. It will be interesting to watch Google and Baidu compete
 for
the top spot in the region and the loyalty of the growing Asian
 population,
he added. Google, Baidu and Yahoo are followed by NHN Corp (4.6 per cent
market share), Alibaba.com (three per cent), TENCENT (1.9 per cent),
Microsoft sites (1.7 per cent), Lycos sites (1.5 per cent) and Sohu.com
 (1.1
 per cent). Sci. Tech. http://www.thehindu.com/holnus/008hdline.htm

Re: [AI] How much does a single Licence of Jaws 9.0 cost?

2008-08-19 Thread Niran
I think it is not legal because a single license means right to use the
software for a single person, sharing a single license software between 2 or
more persons and installing on more than one pc may not be considered legal.
right?
If that can be considered legal, then how nice the thing would be as any one
person can by the software and distribute it between all the blind users on the
globe.
Please correct me if I am incorrect in this regard,

That's true. But one option could be that if three individuals could

   course

Re: [AI] a question for all

2008-08-18 Thread Niran
Unlike the majority, I really enjoy the commentary on TV (ESPN Star) compared
to the radio's running commentary where only the ball-to-ball description is
spoken and other information/discussion is often neglected. + the quality isn't
up to my liking. Anyhow, watching cricket on TV makes me feel lot closer to the
game than listening the radio.
I am only referring to cricket here.

  Respected George sir,
Firstly I will thank you for razing such a sensitive matter which is
definetly in the favor of maximum in the community.
Watching sports is one of the most common hobbies of human beings.
The type of sport may vary, but the natural zeel remain same in
  everyone all around the world.
Though sports event are happening since very long, but there won't be
any exaguration to say that media played a very vital role in
  popularizing them.
In fact, almost every common man takes interest in watching the live
telecast of matches on tv or listen the commentary on radio.
Earlier DD started this work in india, but now many sports channels
are accomplishing this task with great enthusiasm.
Reason is that because a great number of mass watches the telecast,
the scope of promoting the prodict is very much for companies.
The sports channels get a big amount of money from companies to show
  their adds during the matches.
As we said that almost everyone likes the sports, visually impaired
people can not be separated from the statement.
radio has been a very good friend of a visually impaired since long.
This not only gives them the flare of music and news, but also
present sport's commentaries which gives a big amount of pleasure to
  visually impaired people.
Unfortunately, because of some rights and other related issue, AIR
doesn't brought cast every match/ series. therefore, the one and only
  alternative is TV.
While Imerging technologies and trends made the experience of
watching matches more entertaining for cited persons, this created
some problems for visually impaired people.
As we are completely dependant on the commentary, inaccessible
commentary has produced many problem in order to understand the live
  actions.
Specially, the commentary brought casted on international channels
like ESPN, star sports, sony max, z cricket etc. really made the
task of enjoying live sporting actions very difficult.
The unfortunate part is that now a days,
Door darshan is also brought casting the same commentary as other
international channels which abolished the last hope too.
As a summary, enjoying the sports through TV has became a very
  challenging task for us.
Though problem is same for whole world I suppose, but I will talk
about india only because I better know the actual situation of only
  here .
As we know that india has biggest misfortune of having maximum
visually impaired in whole world, it's the responsibility of
everyone to provide accessible environment for them.
As I already told that like everyone else, sports is one of the basic
requirement of the lives of differently ables.
The TV channels will have to understand the need of providing
accessible commentary of sports so that every visually impaired person
can easyly understand and enjoy the live action.
Though it's understandable that making them completely accessible is
very difficult if not impossible, but it's a high time for sports
channels to think about adding some fair accessibility features in the
  commentary.
Here are some suggestion which must implemented.
  1. Commentriators should announce score after every minute at least.
  2. They should speak the names of players time to time. For
example, if it's cricket, name of baller, name of striking batsman,
   name of fielders, etc.
  3. Sometimes, they don't tells the discribtion of very important
happenings. For example, if it's cricket, four, six, wicket,
etc. they should give it's discribtion sincerely instead of
  discussions.
  4. They should speak the important stats/ records which are presented
time to time on TV screens. For example, if it's cricket, number
of wicket for a baller, number of matches for batsman, number of
  catches, etc.
  5. They should announce all the other relevant informations related to
  the particular sport.
If TV channels can consider the above suggestions, they can make
visually impaired enable in enjoying sports.
  With profound regards,
  Prateek agarwal.

I think they are asking for an email id from your i.s.p.
Here my ISP MTNL does provide an email id for its client (4mb space! if I
remember correctly)
Think your service provider also may provide one. Try it.

i've already entered my IP address but still it's not accepting the same.

Re: [AI] jaws question again!

Try the following:
Point the jaws cursor onto the text field to which you want to give focus.
press the num pad / to simulate the left mouse button.
The '/' key is just right of the num pad lock key
When you will press it jaws will say left click. the key to the right of it (
num pad *) is the key for right mouse button.

Re: [AI] jaws question again!

2008-07-23 Thread Niran
oops, it was a mistake, since the right-click works that way, I presumed the
left-click will work that way also.
Which when I tested it now, it doesn't work.
Sorry, and let us know when you get the work around.
Also there must be way to do this as it is a very basic and common operation.

Re: [AI] Clickable links not working

2008-05-15 Thread Niran
I never had any problem with the clickable links other than it doesn't come up
in the insert + F7 list. Here is what I normally do
1. Move the virtual cursor in to the clickable link's text.
2. Press space bar
That's it.

I tried Cntrl+enter, j, line No. enter but it could not work out to open

GMail web interface works in two different modes. Standard and basic html mode.
You should be in basic html mode to be able to work properly using screen
readers.

  Greetings,

I mean the jaws reads the inbox contents!
When I start Jaws again, it recognize the new composeing page.

some times Jaws stops speaking the letter or speak with delay.

  3. When composing message,
some times jaws announces extra things like:
  Contacts Respected,

In this example contacts is the folder which is on gmail page and
'respected' is my message which I typed.

Re: [AI] Problem in Gmail with Jaws.

2008-05-14 Thread Niran
GMail may have changed their page since JAWS 9 was released .
Unless general support for AJAX etc improves in JAWS, there is no point in
trying to adapt JAWS for specific webpages etc.
Because UI of webpages will not remain the same for long time unlike desktop
apps which only release once in a year or so.

  Hello,
  Thanks for the help.
But according to Freedom Scientific Jaws new release supports to Gmail
standard chat view. So we do not need to switch to basic html.
  But your suggestion is right.
  Any idea? Or other sollution?
  Best Regards,

Re: [AI] Copying the URL of a PDF document

If you have the link to the pdf document, just right-click on it using jaws
cursor and choose properties. There you should find the url of the document.

Re: [AI] how to join vb form with msExcell

2008-04-23 Thread Niran
Hi Rajath,
You should try sqlite. Although it is not as powerful as ms sql or MySql, but
it provides all the minimum features you require. Also if I remember correctly,
sqlite has support for various languages like c++ and vb.net etc (even for php
to use within the server).
Try google for the url of the sqlite db.

Re: [AI] Problem opening disk defragmenter

2008-04-22 Thread Niran
It is mfc42u.dll not
mfc42.dll.
Are you sure you typed mfc42u.dll on the cmd?
Also are you sure that you found mfc42u.dll in the system32 folder not the
mfc42.dll?

  Hi I did that.
I found the file as you said.
I opened cmd and typed mfc42.dll and I got this message.
  Caution
You are attempting to open a file of type 'Application Extension' (.dll)
These files are used by the operating system and by various
programs. Editing or modifying them could damage your system.
If you still want to open the file, click Open With, otherwise, click
  Cancel.
  Open With... Cancel
So then I chose cancel, since escape did not work.

  Thanks
  Samuel.

Hi, If you are still having the problem, follow the steps outlined below.
   1. The mfc42u.dll file is located at windows/system32 folder. Try locating
   it.
   2. Open the command prompt and type
   mfc42u.dll
   And press enter.
A dialog notifying windows cannot open this file should be displayed.
press escape to cancel the dialog.

Do both the steps and let me know the results.
