Hi TSM-ers,
if I download an TDP agent (for oracle) from
http://www-1.ibm.com/support http://www-1.ibm.com/support do I need a
licence file for the test period
or does it stop working 60 days after installation when there is no
licence file present?
Kind regards and greetings from Austria
Hi *SM-ers
Server: TSM 4.2.2.8 on AIX
When I do a BACKUP STGPOOL a 170GB file is moved.
Is it possible to see how many gigabytes have beend moved (like in Q
SESSION)?
If I cancel the PROCESS does TSM finish the copy of the current file or does
it
reset the transaction?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
we just had a similar performance problem.
It was caused by the routing configuration of a switch (I was told).
We used a freeware tool (TTCP) to measure network performance.
Using the tool we were able to sort out the software (TSM or FTP) and
prove the networking guys that the poor
Hi Ruud,
to which storagepools do you move your data (disk, tape)?
Your FS backup gives you the network data transfer rate, whereas the
DB backup gives you a number including network data transfer rate,
tape mount/unmount times etc.
Do a QUERY NODE nodename F=D and you will see what the
What version of TDP for SAP R/3 are you using?
I remember that there once was a problem with this kind of calculation.
I often saw 150GB of 132GB backed up.

Hi Ruud,
in the ADSM-L archives you will find a thread about backing up to disk or
tape.
The recommandation was to backup SAP R/3 directly to tape because you could
use more drives, keep the tapes streaming and avoid disk latency.
See thread: Backup faster to tape than disk
Do you use caching
Hi *SM gurus,
I have about 10 servers that I backup with Tivoli Data Protection (MS
Exchange, ORACLE on
AIX and Windows NT, SAP).
Some major maintenance is done next week and everyone feels much better if
we would have
a full backup of all files - including the ORACLE, EXCHANGE and SAP files
Does anybody know where I can download TDP for ORACLE 2.2?
On http://www.tivoli.com/support/storage_mgr/adagent.htm I was
unable to find the download button.
Kind regards

Hi Del,
thanks for your reply.
Do I have to use the normal channels even if I have already
purchased TDP for ORACLE 2.1.9?
Greetings from Austria

Hi TSM-ers,
yesterday I installed the TSM 4.1.2.0 client on an AIX 4.3.2.0 machine.
DSM works, DSMADMC works as well but DSMC gives me the following message:
Trace/BPT trap(coredump)
There was an old 3.1.0.6 client on this machine replaced by 4.1.2.0.
Does anybody know what could cause this
Hi Richard,
first thing I do is always have a look into your QuickFacts :-)
They are the most valuable ressource of information to me!
As I understood your QuickFacts this is only true for SERVERS,
but I'm having this problem with a client on AIX.
I'm not very firm with AIX (to say the least)
