I'm pretty sure it is the POE. The problem shows up on the spectrum analyzer as
soon as the POE ports power on. Before the radio has even the remotest chance

This is correct. Harris Microwave Communications Division (MCD) was spun off

Do you know what frequency the 911 radios use? I'm guessing these are VHF 2way
radios?
Closest thing I can think of that I've run into is customers who are also ham
radio operators, or with OTA TV antennas and interference into low band VHF
channels 2-7. I didn't have much luck with shielded

I would first attempt to discover if it is the CAT5 or the radio itself.
Ask the 911 guys if they have a spectrum analyzer they can lend you to
puzzle this out.
Shielded CAT5 helps.
Putting in coils at the ends helps.
Ferrite chokes help.
Some run it in liquidtight or full metal conduit.

I dunno, it might be easier to just adapt to living inside the sun.

We've had problems with the RF screwing up ethernet, but if the there was
any interference the other direction, nobody ever told us about it. Ferrite
beads on everything mostly fixed that... on that site, we had everything up
top, with only DC going running down to the ground. Last fall we moved

Just double checked with an insider at Harris and was told the radio division,
not including radio station broadcast equipment, lives on through Aviat, since
2009.

I am in town with Harris, they spun off/ divested quite a bit of those
divisions to Aviat, Speedcast, Stratex, Caprock. They still build radios for
mostly government systems under their Govermnment Systems Division & rebuilds
of old systems. You can contact Star microwave and see what

You can kick them back to timing over power using telnet.
Just telnet to the AP, and issue "synconboard off" wait a second and
then issue "synconboard on"

What marketing I've seen of them lately sounds impressive, but they don't
really take me seriously when I try talking to them, so I reciprocate.
