I am using tDom only on a admin section, that is not used on the front
server (but the tDOM should be loaded anyway by the server I suppose, loaded
but not used).
And the pages which generate the crash do not use tDom anyway...

the ns_conn $conn is the pre-3.x construct which is being
carried with AS over and over for the backward-compatibility.
I will have a look into this (as promised) and try to find
a solution which won't require any code changes in
while executing

I am using Oracle 8.1.6 on the client side (so the nsoracle driver is using
8.1.6) and Oracle 9i on the server, and it's running like a charm for about
1 year now.

Under Solaris, my AS 4.0 version needs the -b flag at startup otherwise it
can't bind the port 80.
It was not needed in 3.x version.
