actually my question could go to a novice as well.
It's as the following:
I got an offer for an implementation of the ITSM Suite for an African
country.
It's suppose to be a 30 days of work. And they are looking for a frenchy.
So for me it's perfect.
The problem is
Please make sure both Remedy and your database are configured to handle the
Czech character set or UTF8.
Refer to the Configuring guide for more details.

Ahoj,
Also, make sure that your pc where the admin tool runs uses the same char set.
I only had success with ms sql implementations in czech (but that was very long
time ago).

Hey,
It is a no win situation. Just take the 30 days and let BMC do it, I'm sure
you will get extra time after that. 30 days is not enough to get everything
started anyway.

I would just go with the flow. Let them bring in the BMC person (at more
money and less experance) and then show the company what a experanced person
can do.

The most effective way, in my opinion, is to restore a copy of the prod db,
then masage the data and start the test ar services. It will have all the data

One thing to keep in mind is that the Licenses are now stored in the

I am in favor too of the database copy from production to test and even

Copying a database between servers with Oracle is simple, your DBA should not

It looks like you're on a UNIX or Linux platform. Try this - navigate to your
installation's bin directory and run the following two commands and post the
output back to the list:
ldd argplugin
ls -l *.so*

Sorry we are on AIX 5.3 with Oracle 10g. I ran the commands as

/lib/libtli.a(shr.o)
/lib/libC.a(shr.o)
/lib/libpthreads_compat.a(shr.o)
/lib/libc.a(shr.o)
I don't think libnsl.a is the problem - the problem is with a Remedy specific
library. We know that, because the symbol it's saying it can't find is Remedy
specific. What if you set LIB_PATH to your bin directory and run the ldd
command again. For example, this might work depending on what

Bala,
don't use a table loop. Do a push field to the form where you define
your destination servers. Let's call this form DSO:Config. You need to
push the request_id into a temporary (display only) field. A second
filter running on DSO:Config does the Distributed-Transfer. I've

Hi Conny,
Thanks. The only issue is with the mapping. If I try to perform a DSO

tries to transfer the DSO:Config record and not my Helpdesk Record..

Hello, List!
Our AIX 5.3, ORACLE 10g RAC, ARSystem 7.1 Patch 6 system is experiencing low
email engine output.
Our performance has degraded severely over the past week. The email engine
is sending one or two emails per cycle, and then it disconnects from the
SMTP server until the next cycle
I figured this out eventually. Since the SLM log recreated itself and
overwrote the important information every time it crashed (every 20-30 seconds)
it was hard to get good info. I ended up having to do a tail -f on the log
file. Once I did this I could see the issue was with the actions.
I want to manually run the cmdbExtLoader portion of the install for IM

What I do not have however is my notes from last time I did this. They
happen to be about 200 miles west of me at the moment...
Does anyone have the directions on how to do this on
One other thing I noticed. if I run this from the fat client it works
fine. Both the main report and subreport display. If I run it from the
Mid tier I am prompted for ID/password for the sub report. Even if I put
in proper id/password the window just pops back up again.
