ARS 7.6.03 requires the Oracle 10g client. If you do an ldd arserverd you can
see the files required - libclntsh.so.10.1.

Hi,
I have done two successful installations of ARS 7.6.03 on RHEL 5.4 (x86_64)
using the Oracle 11gR2 (x86_64) (11.2.0.2.0 and 11.2.0.1.0). I have used the
full client, not the instant client, but it should work...
At the end of the installation of the Oracle client, did you generate the
I think the reason that this works is that the full 11g client creates a soft
link from the libclntsh.so.10.1 file to libclntsh.so.11.1. If you do this for
the Instant Client it may work. Interestingly the compatibility matrix for
7.6.03 says that the Oracle 11g client is required but the
According to the Compatibility Matrix 7.6.03 requires the Oracle 11g (64 bit)
client. When you installed the client did you install the Linux x86 or the
Linux X86-64 client?

You're question is way to broad to be answered in an internet forum.
There are entire books that have been written on ITIL implementations.
My advise is to get your client's employees ITIL v3 foundation training. You

The Oracle 11g client is compatible with 10g and the full version of the client
ships with soft links for the libclntsh.so.10.1 file pointing to
libclntsh.so.11.1 which allows the server to run. The 11g Instant Client
doesn't have these links but you can create them manually and then you

Mark,
Thanks for the info. I got past the hurdle by installing the full 11g client.
But I'm still curiuous about the instant client.
I don't want to have to do anything with Oracle 10g. I have a 11g server. Are
you saying that with ARS 7.6.03, even if oracle SERVER is 11g, the client still

Frederick, I got the 64 bit one. As I wrote in another post, the info on

It's set against the relationship classes in the class manager.
You will only be able to set it on weak relationships.
