Everyone,
LJ pointed me to the hidden log file location – something BMC Support couldn’t
do.
BMC now has the logs.
Yes I did use a password in the User form.
I re-typed the passwords each time.
Only one upgrade was run at a time (at least an hour a part)
I’ll check the Remedy Application
Can you pl run maintainance utility which zip the logs and send through?
Not finding the logs could be a function of setting temp environment variable
to a different directory than what is the default.

2 things I can think of to try
1 Always use an account with a local password in the User form (during the
upgrade the LDAP integration may not be available)
2 Always re-type all the passwords in the install GUI (I have encountered

Did you start more than one upgrade of the AR Server at the same time? I
know this was not supported because each time the installer is run, it
randomly creates the password for this user and therefore the one
already running only knows the previous password.

I remember having some issues about a year ago with the 9.1 installer and
it not accepting Demo's credentials. I just added a password to my
account in the User form and used that (I wanted to take any LDAP auth out
of the equation). The installer completed under my credentials without
issue.
I am not sure if I am correct here, but not sure if the failure is for your
user or Remedy Application Service user since you are saying reported failure
is for ‘AR System Server Admin’ user.
This can potentially because the RAS user password in ar.cfg is corrupted.
AR Server restart might
The install log files are typically stored in a hidden temp directory under
the profile of the user running the installer, typically something like
c:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp
or somewhere similar on Windows machinestypically /tmp on unix/linux

I’ve got a ticket at BMC for this, but I thought the ARSlist might have some
insight:
I am attempting to upgrade ARS 8.1 to 9.1.3 (or 9.1.2 – same problem).
Both versions complain that the ‘AR System Server Admin’ user fails
authentication.
I’ve verified that ‘Demo’ and my ID can login to

I think it means that for your company, the change management configuration
requires that Risk questions are completed before a change is created. Either
this can be disabled ( which may not be right) or you might update SRD to use a
change template that has the risk questions taken care of.
Hello Team,

How to avoid this error?
