You can send a search to the Desktop to create an ARTask file. Here is an
example of one I just created.
[Shortcut]
Name = HPD:HelpDesk
Type = 1
Server = ServerName
Join = 0
QBE Data = 24015=My Name
Search String = 'Status*' Resolved

Hi All,
Is it possible to create a simple ARTask file to search a specific
computer system asset, based either on “Computer Name” or
“Asset ID”.

Type = 0
Server = SERVER

4- create active link on display the new form

Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knows of a way to define the Server parameter value
in ARTask files attached to email notifications
Hi,
A long time ago I created a Unix-script that took Server, Form and Request
ID as input. It created filters to the Email Attachment form that called
the script when a record was created with the correct ARTask-name, using
$PROCESS$. The Perform-Action-Add-Attachment replaced the original

Hello everyone:
I have a creative problem and I'd sincerely appreciate any/all

possible, but I'm open to all ideas.
I've written a neat little application that, when executed, launches
Unfortunately that doesn't work. Windows won't allow it. It throws a
bogus error about ARTASK files not being valid executables.
And to answer your question, just use a standard password for all
users.

That sounds similar to an issue we had here. There were some users (but
not all) that would occasionally (but not always) get an error like that
when they tried to open the ARTask file. After it being an outstanding
issue for a while, we tracked it down to the open action of the file
Good morning all,
Has anyone set up an .ARTask shortcut and HTTP response from a webserver to
open a form/entry in an already running copy of ARUser, instead of spawning
a new one? If so, what HTTP headers did you use?

How User Tool Shortcuts Work
Shortcuts are used in the Remedy User tool to provide a user with easy
access to a certain form or entry. Shortcuts can be stored on the file
system or sent as a link

Tried using 'VUI' and 'View' with no luck.

Curiously, the Label parameter in the ARTask file *is* the VUI name, but it has
absolutely no effect on how aruser.exe opens the form. For example, I can be
working in the Read-Only view of a form, and when I send it to a friend using
right-click -- Send -- Form -- Mail Recipient, I get

L ars,
Reinstalling the WUT should fix the short-cut issue. If you want to fix it by
updating the registry: Run regedit and search and export all keys with artask
in the name. Create a single .reg file the run it on the computers that need to
be fixed.
Because it's the registry I would try
hi, what could be the reason? Some users have no association to the ARTASK
