Yep, Jeremy corrected me on the audeasy list regarding the size of Alter. I havent got to Ralnoth yet so cant speak about that specifically. the one thing I do wish Alter still had was a bit more by way of randomly generating stuff in the wilderness like MAteriamagica doess, though I do rather fancy some of those job that are in the game now, its something I need to get back to even though that does mean sorting Theloks clerric stats out.

oh 1 more thing forget to mension here:Pokedex,: you can only view details of the pokemon. The original one, you can see where the pokemon location and easy to fine, because sometime you have to chase down a legendary beasts.1 more thing I want to see is, we can see where are tree so we can cut itand, you can see where is surfable water. This is difficult to most players because we couldnt fine the object. I have to use wall to navigate, and pressing the Z button so I can found a tree. And a hole, sometime when you walk, you just fall down. And its difficult to navigate the Ice path, because you have to push the bolder into hole.

Hello,I challenged a friend to Super Egg Hunt Plus once, the result was quite interesting, this person got, I think, around 50.Of course,t he best one to do is definitely bop it. Very nice pick up and play game/toy that pretty much anyone can get the hang of if you give them long enough, Ive had several people who can hold their own against me, or wed try the co-op and try to beat pass it and bop til we drop, in bop it exteme once me and a friend got to aroudn the seventh pass it level and the game was going rather fast.

Hello, everyone,I personaly agree with Danny. This isnt a solution, because it helps killers more than those being killed. It basicly sends a message log on or log off, you Will die, anyway! when you are hurt, you sit down, and when your helth is lower, you cant run, especially with high thirst and hunger wich go up much to fast. theres also a new bug that sometimes randemly logs you off. I dont know if thats your bug or hacking, but it really is anoying. If you want to make this game realistic, why are rockgun, revolver, bullets, metal and map pages there? well, you can make a slingshot yourself, but revolver and bullets arent realistic at all. Have a nice day, Mayana.PS: Im not trying to be anoying, if thats what you think. do whatever you want, I *probably* wont stop playing. and even if some players stop, there are lots of others so ...

Hi everyone. Ok Im still having issues with survive the wild. Im still unable to find the stream and clay fast enough to get my first pot and drink of water. Its also taking me ages to get a fishing pole made, so Sam Im wondering if you could perhaps create a digging system, where theres a chance of you digging up some nuts or finding berries to tide you over, so you dont die so quickly. Also, I know when the game starts I seem to be on the shore line, but Im wondering if when I start its a random location, as the last time I died then logged back in again, I was at the base of a mountain and couldnt get back to the stream.

I like MUSHClient, but for one thing, it absolutely refuses to accept any extended or unicode characters, replacing them with a question mark in the output. Also, Im having a baffling issue that I want to test other clients to see if its MC, or my net. I simply cannot idle on any muds, even ones I know that allow it, such as fluxworld and lambda moo. Ill end up being dropped, but it doesnt appear to be on the server, as MCs standard, server dropped the connection message never appears, simply, when I come back, The mud is unresponsive, and i need to disconnect and reconnect. This bugs me quite a bit, some muds have implementations that will keep you idle, and i can do it with a timer, but thats just ridiculous that i need to go to that length.

I think it must have the following four functions in order to play this game more comfortable.1. pathfind function need to be able to search on the water (tile 41) also like a normal load. For example, root 40 is the passage for moving on the water by using a surfing. Now pathfind function can not properly guide the route 40.2. I have to challenge the translation of sprites, but you will not be able to translate signpost. Signpost are not included in the definition of sprites. Maybe, it is possible to edit the pokemon.lua, it can be achieved. However, I think it should not be edited in more than necessary pokemon.lua.3. Some Pokemon requires the use of a trade center on the of the Pokemon Center 2F in order to evolve. In this game, cheat to change the Pokemon you have in any of the other Pokemon exists. However, the cheat did not work correctly. To solve this problem, either produce IPS patches to modify the terms Pokemon evolves, or it will be necessary to support the trade center functions.4. Pathfind function does not work properly when you walk on the ice (tile 35). When you walk on the ice, until hit the wall, or to be moved on another tile, you can not never be used to change the direction.

Devon,I appreciate your input and opinion on this. Unfortunately, were a small company. In fact, were basically two guys that met on Alter Aeon and tried to put together a BGT version of a game from an extremely old version of the same game that I developed in Basic in high school in the 80s. Aaron doesnt use IOS products except in the past phones, and other than my phone, I dont either. Neither of us can afford the extra equipment or time. I think the best solution for the Mac and audio games problem that I hear about more and more from friends online and from people like you who are upset on forums that there are no games for your platform, or not the games that are coming out and being discussed, is for either a group of Mac users to get together and find programmers willing to take on the project, form a kickstarter, give that programmer an incentive, and see what comes of it. The other option would be to get a
  few enterprising Audio gamers/programmers who use Mac to develop new games. In a perfect world, thered be cross platform support for all programs, but currently, this is a far from perfect world. Now, that said, if anyone on forum wants to give me say 10,000 dollars so I can buy a Mac, take some courses, and learn what I need, I would strongly consider converting our games into IOS. Well, Alter actually has closer to fifty thousand rooms, but yeah. I havent really tried other MUDs, but I like the way it Works on Alter... Although, as you said, cities can feel more like a handful of shops surrounding a Castle rather than an actual city.Now if the cities in Alter had all been the size of Ralnoth itd be a Whole different story. I know its the Capital so its probably why its bigger... But still. Id say Ralnoth has a quite nice size for a MUD city though, some 20*20 rooms or so I believe.

Dark - you have visited my realm, so you will have knowledge to agree or disagree with what I say here:First of all, I usually only count my primary rooms in my total, and that is currently only a few rooms away from 1900 - I dont typically count virtual rooms, which is whats inside a puzzle house, a simple 8x8x8 for example is 512 rooms all by itself, and although you can walk it, and it does feel like 512 rooms, I dont normally count those types of spaces. Perhaps some MUDS rely a lot on areas, which are lots of movement with little in new descriptions, as my virtual room spaces are. I tend to count those places that each have a very unique description, sounds (day and night, and perhaps weather and other features (like sitting on an old log by the fire) and other such unique settings.If I did count the virtual room count, I would be at 4100+ and I dont make use of a lot of such things.I have always felt that a player should have many unique places to visit, 
 without feeling like they were running and running, only to move 5 or 10 feet each time, and that each area and connector should really be a transition into something new, as repetition gets old. Some of this VR type of space to get somewhere can feel like being a hamster on a treadmill.This is my take on this all, as I live in my MUD as much as any of my players do.

hmm actually that wouldnt be that hard, doing somethingfrom marvle or dc commics in general. It wouldnt be of the original searies that dc commics publishes, sinse Im not really feeling up to getting a bunch of that stuff. But I have some graphic audio stuff from dc commics, marvle and that sort of things kicking around on my harddrive, so if you want tactical battle versions of all the fights that are in there, I could probably pull that off. Youd need to give me some time to actually listen to the fights though, check out the characters involved, what they can do and the features of the enemies so this would take me some time. But Ill try to make it in the time before Im gone for about 3 weeks. In that time I wont have my computer with me, but Ill have most of summer break to continue working on it. Historic events? That would actually be really hard to make, sinse doing e.G. An alex the great campagne or something would take me mu

I have tested chromium os a while back. I am happy to report that the arnold the bat builds, along with the hexe builds that stopped around chromium os 23, do in deed include chromevox. The only issue that you might run into is that like on chrome os 43, you have to use headphones, increase the volume, turn on chromevox, decrease the volume, and then unplug the headphones to get speech through your internal speakers.

Ah! You are right, I remember that name now that you mention it. Can ReadyBoost be turned off or is it a Vista only feature? Or is it smart enough to not use an SSD in which case it turns itself off or just sit idle? Ill look, but as I recall from my superfetch search I didnt run across anything that sounded like it was ReadyBoost.Its a pity that this talking install doesnt work for 64 bit Windows, Id be really tempted, even though 64 bit Windows wouldnt benefit me all that much.

Thankfully the code used for scripting is really easy to pick up, but if theres things I did wrong if this ever gets released just tell me and I might fix them. I say might, because Ive never seen any campagne developper actually fix bugs with their campagnes. The fact that the campagne files arent encripted might be a part of this...

If you want to connect to other games, its best to get MushClient from the mushclient website and use that instead.Yes, I know that mush-z is technically built on top of mushclient. Yes, I know that its theoretically possible to use mush-z to connect to other games. However, people who dont know what theyre doing risk breaking their copy of Mush-Z, and even if they are successful they still wont have any sounds or the other features that work on Alter Aeon. I do a@Centauri I do agree on rooms with no description to mark your movement not really counting in exploration terms, and indeed that was one of the things that put me off project bob.I will say though Materiamagica at least does have a slightly different take on that system by the way its wilderness works, sinse while the basic description does not change, there is such a lot of random objects that you can find from flowers and plants to rocks and creatures, as well as weather and lighting changes that it doesnt really feel as if your standing still so much as navigating a large area with unchanging terrain, particularly sinse many thins like buildings or the ends of forests will be showing a few rooms ahead just as in real life. Its a slightly different experience and one I think is moderately unique to mm, although parts of cloks wilderness have much the same feeling as well. Fluxworld is obviously a different beast entirely with e
 ach room having unique descriptions and lots of connections to surrounding areas with many objects to play with.

Thanks, afrim;I try going back to Avast then, the worst that can happen is that I keep using Security Essentials.To whomever said you should pay for anti valware software, I disagree, I used to pay for these programs, but after being screwed my most of the comapnies offering these programs, Im no longer willing to support them financially. I support Microsoft by paying for Windows, Microsoft produces Security Essentials, thats the closest Ill come to paying for anti malware software.

Chances are the reason your gameshark code didnt work is cause you need to change 91 to 01, if 91 doesnt work with a code change those first 2 to 01 instead, I have a cheat list I was thinking of uploading.Update on my problem. Im pretty sure it has something to do with project 64 or the n-rage plugin it self. Cause if I load the game in vba after stadium, I get the error message, but if I create a save state and then delete the battery file, load from the save state and resave, I can load the game with no error again.

Hi.All right, Allies are driving me crazy. When I make an ally, it constantly shoots ammo, wasting tons of shots and hardly turning to face the enemies. Even when there are no enemies near our current area, it is still walking around, shooting shots at nothing. Whats going on here? Is this a bug? If so, this is really disappointing. Actually NV Speech player used formant synthesis, If you seriously fuck with the cb parameters youll get sine and square waves in a second. But they used clat. TO generate their natural speech, I think the modulated the thing by a square wave or something, after all, theyve gotta get phoneme to pitch conversion, with only the phoneme? One or two aa sounds, while the thing can do like 60.

What Id like to say is that Microsoft security essentials is a basic, anti! virus!Thats nothing more.Microsoft itself has stated that and has also said that security essentials is not recommended if you want a good protection against malware. Avast free antivirus is good, and if you register avast via your e-mail, you can get protected for a year, because if you simply download avast from their webpage, it will give you only 300 days of protection then you need to uninstall and reinstall it again to renew the protection.The best antivirus, if youre willing to pay is bitdefender antitheft. I dont really know whether it is accessible or not.Anyway good luck with avast.

What Id like to say is that Microsoft security essentials is a basic, anti! virus!Thats nothing more.Microsoft itself has stated that, and has also said that security essentials is not recommended if you want a good protection against malware. Avast free antivirus is good, and if you register avast via your e-mail, you can get protected for a whole year, because if you simply download avast from their webpage, it will give you only 30 days of protection then you need to uninstall and reinstall it again to renew the protection.The best antivirus, if youre willing to pay is bitdefender antitheft. I dont really know whether it is accessible or not.Anyway good luck with avast.

@cw;So far, I havent been too successful with the bone conducting headphones. First off, in my hands they feel well built and durable, they dont give me any impression of being fragile. But their use isnt intuitive, so far I have not been able to get them to pair up with anything, however; I suspect that that is more me not doing it right, rather than a defect with the headphones. The instructions that come with it are apparently mostly pictures or drawings with captions, because all I get when I scan them is fragments. The web site (http://www.ruidien.com) was even worse, it was totally inaccessible.My brother will be coming over to help me figure these things out. Normally I would just return them with the comment that the manufacturer needs to consider that some of their customers may be people with disabilities and that they need to make their products accessible to those customers, but after a long search, t

A lot more detail on your part might go a long ways.It would be nice if you could tell us which version of windows youre running this under. Are you running it in a virtual machine?What sort of internet do you have, do you use anti Malware utilities? One of those could be blocking the game from having access to the guidedog client, and so if you can allow the game and the client that may solve this difficulty. It would be great to know what the anti malware utility is if that is the case.Last question, which screen reader if any are you using? We had someone on our test team with issues while running Window-Eyes but managed to solve that, turned out for them it was their anti malware too but it was messing up Window-Eyes enough that they couldnt tell that.Thanks for your patience. In that case, I would recommend using the bare metal if you have a spare machine, or you could just run it live if you just have a flash drive bigger or equal to 4 gigs, that you dont ripping to shreds. Alternatively, you could use virtualbox if youre on linux. hth

@Centauri I do agree on rooms with no description to mark your movement not really counting in exploration terms, and indeed that was one of the things that put me off project bob.I will say though Materiamagica at least does have a slightly different take on that system by the way its wilderness works, sinse while the basic description does not change, there is such a lot of random objects that you can find from flowers and plants to rocks and creatures, as well as weather and lighting changes that it doesnt really feel as if your standing still so much as navigating a large area with unchanging terrain, particularly sinse many thins like buildings or the ends of forests will be showing a few rooms ahead just as in real life. Its a slightly different experience and one I think is moderately unique to mm, although parts of cloks wilderness have much the same feeling as well. Fluxworld is obviously a different beast entirely with each ro
 om having unique descriptions and lots of connections to surrounding areas with many objects to play with.

The biggest problem I have is that when I type L thing if there is an item called mysterious thing in the room, it says there is no thing here. This happens a whole lot with items, and makes things very, very frustrating. If I want to look at something, I usually use the noun, not the adjective, as saying look mysterious even with the at the sounds awkward at best, and no one wants to have to type look at mysterious thing or look at mysterious-thing if the items are one of those pesky items that are hyphenated as so many of the fluxisch lvocabulary is. Working with items and all is probably the only frustrating thing about this game. And um, the bats in the first quest killed me, and there is no breather unit thing for exploring that thing that wants you to go underwater. Yeah, I need help.

Hi,First, Im amazed about the civilisation in here. I frequently visit an atheist blog, and some of the comments are threats to the author like you are going to hell because youve created this blog and so on. In 56 posts so far, none of this has happened, and this is quite impressive for me.Thank you asault_freak. This is a really interesting page. I am almost sure I wont change my atheist views with it, but its a really comprehensive list of contradictions answered by christians, which is really useful, to discover both the good and bad points made by them, and by the people who raise them, of course.Thanks also to Thunderfist799. I was looking for some evidence that supported the claim of muslims that Alla is the only God, but this also helps. You see, each religion has its own History, predictions, miracles and superstitions. To summarise my position: I dont consider everything false, but those predictions may be some 
 kind of coincidence (sorry for the blasphemy). However I dismiss the main fact, that that is the word of God, mainly because of all the attrocities in these holly books, and also because of the contradictions and translation errors in them.

Note, hire values will damage your hull.Fixt bug that caused the probe sound to play when accessing the message boards.Per request of everon, the r key now replys to private messages youve received.For the central control consoles, I intend to go through the class files on the smaller vessels such as the light freighter, the asteroid hauler, and any small ship possibly the cargo freighter. For these, the helm, autopilot, and status, along with sensors consoles are going to be stript out of the design, and instead replaced with one central control console, which provides access to all of the previous functions. For the moment, to keep the crew aspect, id like to keep the layouts the same on bigger vessels. The rest of the ships functions like fusion drive and asteroid mining I intend to keep the same, since these are really addons to the ships as aposed to ship necessities, hents they dont really tie into the ship control console

K, well, I could potentually be able to whip dark into a corpse and allow the world to have light once more. Fortionatly for me, im in my tech filled room, at my desk, by my computer, and heres a list of everything I can reach with my left hand, and most of it is, on the left of me. So lets start with the bigger items. Right below me and to the left I have a giant computer but the thing is, I could yank the side off that thing easy, so then... I reach behind me for the nearest zomb. This computer is an old monster, and has huge fans, and even maxxing this out I cant get it above room temproture, these dang things are powerfull. I think those little fanblades to the face might hurt. And with luck, a couple could pop off and get lodged into the zombs eyes. But a computer has many butiful components and its to the left of me, bmwahahahahahahahaha! Next well go for the heat sync. Im sure the inside of that things pretty dang hot. With my arm s
 till around the nexk of the first zomb, yank his lil head down and touch his eyes to the heat sync, while also reaching up and grabbing a copper coin and shoving it in well, sorta the same place? Ooh, that might suck for lil zomb boy, that coppers gonna get hot lodged into a pronged heat sync. Then if hes alive reach up for my braille plus and whip him in the face. couple times. Ok, first zomb destroid, now I have a new item to the left, a corpse. That could be a nice shield. And besides, I could take the mike stand for my XM8500, expand the tripod in the mouth of that corpse to open the mouth up, than stand up and swing it. If im lucky, the teeth might hit some of the corpses aponents, and they could still be hot from that heat sync. Then, I got way more, sence my hole desk is in easy easy reach of my left hand. Ok, whats next. Ok, back to the computer. I think that a jagged cirket might be kind of sharp. That would suck. Im not too week, get a zomb on
  its back, just trip it you know, than use some old wrestling move, than well, you know, use that cirket on his neck, that would hurt. I could also use that heat sync and other components in my PC to bust that braille plus open and use the stuff in there. What else do I have. Hmmm. A zenix502 mixxer. I guess the knobs could be sharp well sort of, but again, id smash that on my desk and get it open, it has a lot of thinnish brittle looking plastic, another sharp weapon. And, part of my computer casing is sea threw, so if O busted it in half and swing and slashed, that might hurt. That clear sea threw plastic can be dang sharp sometimes. I still have that copper coin of course, so we could probably get an electric current going somehow with the copper, the outlet that everything is hooked up too, and this other charger I got here. Make a bit of a shield trap, disconnect the charger box parcially, than shove that copper coin in between it and put more metal from the comp on
  that, etc. Above me and still in reach I have this old xp labtop that wont boot, I can thrash with that too, or somehow get an overloaded voltage and boom! Not to mension, I could try slicing threw the power supply cable inside my PC, and create another current with this other USB thing, the end is still metal, afterall, and I got other chargers here, too. I have an SD card to my left, if I snapped the end of it it could hurt a little but meh, not that much. I have that XM8500 connected to an xlr, connected to the xenix502, connected by a high voltage plug, to the wall. Toss the metal part of the mic, and btw the xm8500 mic is almost all metal, throw that onto the little electric current I got running, more fire! Then, I jump up, and either run off or nock that xp labtop down on anothers head, if the ones around me could compansate for the now crazy electric fire, even though the house is gonna hurn anyway. Well, then, Ill go out the door while the zombies are sti
 ll in the room, with all that electric fire. And im really good with locks. I could easily and probably with bear hands, or with what ever I could bring with me from the room, screw up the metal on the doorknob so it wouldnt open again that easy, then just run, and let all the zombs die under my burning room, and eventually let 2 more floors above that crash down. Too bad for that horde. cause there... All dead! And in the end, instead of zombie darkness, I have a nice, huge campfire, full of light though I cant see it, so Ill be good! So dark, Bring em on! And btw yes, that is all true, I have a computer, xp labtop, zenix502, that microphone, all in easy easy reach of me. And if you think whats inside those devices you could really pone.

Its new, not the usual setup files, and have you ever tried leaving and reentering the windows of that thing with NVDA? I have no problem with running away or killing. Sometimes ill do it myself, but only if the other person is ok with it, and I have no problems with death. Constant killing is an ishue, im still standing on that, but it would be less if that cowered system were dropt, thats all im saying. I do understand why killing is their. It is, after all, surviving the wild, and if I were coding a game with the same theme as stw then id probably be implementing the same killing thing.

Thats... Strange. Do you mean the volume bars are different playing the recorded raw output or playing in the sound engine itself? Ive been running a few tests in my side scroller trying to replicate it. I ended up stripping out all the tiles except two and messing with the sound positioning for awhile before I got a clear stereo panning effect in the output, still a little twacked on positioning though. Ive uploaded the recording to my repository if you want to listen to it, walking between two points.Wierd though, if theres a slope to your right and a flat surface to the left, or moving between two points there should be some kind of stereo effect in the recording. Maybe you could try recording the output through another program like Audacity instead to see if theres an issue with how its being logged, though youll have to change audacitys Preferences: Recording Device from Mono-Mix to Stereo-Mix.

sam, youre doing great job. just one sugestion: can you add conformation menu when you exit? for example, players with crooked fingers like me press a wrong button  lets say, i want to open the inventory and take an arrow. but i press u instead of i, then a, then left, and then you know, what will happen if ill press escape well, danny, you wont do anything with constant killing in this game. but theres the way you stay alive. you always have some people you can trust, and they can probably defend you. next, you have your legs and you can escape, that will be hard to find you. and of course, you can learn how to fight. now knife sharpness is limited, so its impossible to kill you with only one stab.

smiles. you are incorrect on the superfetch coppying piramitors. you confusing it with windows vistas, ready boost feature, wich does as u described, how ever, super fetch, takes data from the hardrive that is freequently used, such as, aps, files, and more, and cashes it in to special files, that it reeds from, then loads it in to ram. for hardrives this is perfect, as seek times is reduced, for ssds its a nusence, and have no bennifit, due to there ausemly fast access times. ready boost. in this cace, would also be unnecessary, due to the fact that u already have an ssd. prefetch? takes boot files, and does the same as super fetch, but only with boot files. again, its not needed due to the fact that ssds is ausemly fast, hec, ssds actually hits the bandwith limmit of the sata transfer rates, a thing a hardrive only can dreem of. :d yup ssds is defenatly the way to go, if u want fast performance. you no, as a side note. on my deskto

I did do a little googling on this, but sinse the game appears to have no homepage info is a trifle limited. All I could find was This writeup on mud connector That writeup makes the game sound rather like Aardwolf, though I did note mentions of some more unique races and some different classes to the standard such as archer, illusionist and gayan, as well as demon summoning as a warrior ability, I was also interested in the mentions of evolution of character classes, area specific solo quests and gauntlets with no quest timers as well.Id like to know rather more about these though than the writeup says, sinse a lot else sounded fairly standard in terms of level, remort, choose second class, slaughter slaughter, and its easy to write quests and Gauntlet but for these to turn out to just be more excuses for slaughterings,  he
 ll even if the game is a huge kill fest like Aardwolf some individual impressions might be nice (it surprised me how much fun Aardwolfs seak and destroy random quests were).Id also be interested in knowing if the game has any Vi specific access modifications such as navigation aides or low spam modes, especially if there are lots of fast combat messages.

Hi there. As weird as it may sound, my issue appears to have resolved itself. As long as it doesnt come back I wont question what caused it.  @ironcross32, unfortunately I keep hearing that Firefox is getting worse but I personally havent noticed any webpages loading slower yet. Actually, I recently found out that by removing Adblock Plus and installing UBlock, it made my Firefox a lot faster. I guess I never really noticed how much Adblock slows Firefox since Ive been using it for so long. I like UBlock better anyway though since I can also get rid of social media buttons on webpages. Ill give Chrome a try sometime, but the large number of complaints about its battery life consumption worries me. Regardless, I dont know what caused the issue I was having so I cant really say anything to anyone who 
 might experience the same problem which is what I try to do after I post on a forum with an problem and it gets resolved.

turns out that wasnt the error, I think I forgot my right parenthesis in an array insert function or some shit! I just know the thing really wanted a data type, so it gobbled up the stuff and looked for a data type, or in my case, a right parenthesis. But, answer me this. Why doesnt it say, expected right parenthesis? I mean, theres a semicolon there! Just goes to shoe you how crappy the error generator is once you get into complex code. Non terminated string litteral! Gaah!

Okay. So lucas gave me the idea of creating a chat client, though I used a different approach.He used the network object and IP addresses, but I dont have no damn server. So can you guess what I used?PHP!Okay, so The client side works fine, but Im getting into the php code and I want a server event to be transmitted. I believe I know how to receive it, im storing them in a text file, like event, \r\n, event, \r\n, etc. You can thank mason for the text file procedure. Lol!So i have a file on my host called srv.php.And yeah, I go into it, and I tell it to assign a variable called $dat to the data value of the $_POST request, effectively trapping sent data. The script sends data, colton has connected. I log out, colton has disconnected. I look at the text file, this is the really weird part. Yes it writes, I used fopen and fwrite and such. Wanna know what the file says?00Every event I send, it puts a 0! What the hell is up w
 ith that, and can somebody help me with that? i can do it in bgt, i just need a way of transferring data between the client and the php servers, my get methods work fine once the files are full.

Size of muds?

Looking at the description of Erionmud on mud connector a thought occurred to me. I often see muds mentioned as having x thousand rooms, but I find this a little difficult to process in terms of how large the mud is. As someone who loves exploring,I obviously like lots of teretory, but its also not just a question of how big the thing is sinse another factor is how interesting or involved the exploring is, both in terms of descriptions, and in terms of the travelling. Clok for example I believe has about three thousand rooms which is comparatively small, but the fact that it has a fully realized wilderness and exploration system means it feels much larger. Aardwolf famously has over thirty thousand rooms, but the auto speedwalk command and heavy use of portals means that it feels more like exploring a set of disconnected areas (a little like Eamon), rather than a huge connected world.AlterAeon I believe has around thirty thousand rooms as well, but 
 unlike Aardwolf travel requires actually traversing through areas, making it feel larger. I think Materiamagica has more actual rooms quantatively, (the cities really are! realistically gigantic), but because of the wilderness random generation system many have the same description repeated which can make you feel like your not getting anywhere, although I will say it does make cities feel like cities rather than a few item shops surrounding a castle .I dont know how big Wayfar1444 actually is, but I will say in that game the procedural generation of rooms and the many random elements you find in the different environments make exploration feel awesome, for all I do wish the developers would implement an ability to find a given biome type on a planet.Promethius from what Ive tried actually feels a little smaller in scale, though that is possibly 
 due to unfinished rooms kicking around the place rather than the actual number of rooms, though on the plus side space is a nice place to explore and find stuff.Anyone else have more input?

I have a random question, not really related to images but related to audio and waveform systems. Is it possible to make a voice, like a synthesized voice, or convert a voice sample, into analgo sound? With variable width pulse, sine, sawtooth, etc? Im wondering if this is possible because hey! That would be a whole new way of synthesizing! Ive seen people do it only with sine waves, but that, sounds, like, absolute, crap!

Sam, forgive me here, but im extremely confused. How does that fix the constant killing ishue? I mean, part of the killing ishue is people being armed to the teath and invading campsites. Which I understand, that is a part of the game as its survive the wild. But at the same time, their needs to be some limit on it. If I wanted to get constantly killed and shot at, I may as well go play rtr or up, no afense ment. And id honestly not do that hole cowered system. When people are encountering lag, they are instead of timing out most likely to press the escape key so they can disconnect. But if you restrict them from reconnecting during that brief 12 second pyriod their being stabd or shot at, then by by goes all their stuff, its a lose lose situation because even by the time they get their lag fixt, when they reconnect, theyll already be dead, and such a system makes me, as a player, not want to even play the game. Now I do understand that if I dont want a goo
 d fight, I could always stay off the game, but I could think of several problems with that system that while it will stop cowereds, it wouldnt be worth it. This is in no way ment to be rood, but just one practicle sanario, if I need to go someware for a bit. Lets say I pop on the game, just to check up on my campsite, or see whats new. Im not in the mood for a fight or defending my campsite during thoughs times. Now lets say someone comes over and attacks me. By what your saying is, just because I had to press escape basicly means ive lost everything because I had to disconnect from the game to go someware, as I understand it. Remember, the people were calling cowereds for running away from a fight are also your players. Personally, I think that cowereds should be allowed to disconnect during a fight or at least have the possibility to run away. Sure, it will anger the player who was doing the killing, but as I understand it, theirs plenty o
 f people who want to kill so they can always go find a new viktem to stab in the face.

Well from what I gathered there were a few ongoing things, though no mention of new episodes. Firstly, there were deals and such mentions in the games store some of which I got the idea were new items. Secondly, there is community item builder and forum builder software and new forum dungeons are put up each week, while these are essentially new battles with no storyline they do as I said insure you dont have to just fight the same monsters again and again. As to what to do when finishing episode 3, well like KoL it seemed to be possible to purchice another character and go through as a different class, and the permanoob class was even mentioned as an advanced play and not to be attempted first time around. So there did seem to be some stuff going on with the game as regards updates even if not actually updates to the story or side quests, and considdering that what I saw the game was heavy on batles and for obvious internet reasons doesn
 t really have the exploring it did strike me as a good way around.

I was looking around, and I wanted to figure out how I could convert my voice to an analog sound. Yes, im weird. Anyways I found these articles on sine wave synthesis, sws, but the sample sounds like absolute crap. I was looking around earlier on here and found the audio engine, the V-O-I-C as I think it was called.Now, I am wondering, could you use multiple waveforms, such a sine, possibly a square, a sawtooth, absolute sine, etc... For voice samples? Like, Im wondering if somebody could take a sample of alex for the macintosh saying, hello, this is a synth! Into waveform synthesis and make it sound like it, with huge frequency sweeps on the sines. I believe if you wanna pull this off, youre gonna need a waveform generator that supports variable pulse width. Then you could make sounds like aa, e, [[wow]], etc. Either that or you could use fm? I believe they did it with 3 or 4 sine samples. but obviously, sine sounds like crap, sounds all hollow and shit. M
 aybe somebody could either find a program or create one that will sample a voice and its amplitudes, frequency sweeps, and stuff into waveform? Then just perform the pitches on them, probably do some tweeking with the pulse, now im not really knollegeable in voice and the way it works, so im not gonna ry. But can anybody find a program that, basically, takes my voice, and converts it to the closest approximation using only analog sound? Dont forget the variable pulse!
