Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

Hello,I newly discovered we're alive series and am now at the beginnings of season 4.For my first experience listening to a book turned audio theater, I really like it.I doubt I'm the first, but let me tell you about some huge sound design mistakes that I found to be fun.1. the seen when james and another guy went to find another helicopter, when he radios in to report, the music sound as well as the carr interior sound are, Stereo! come on! This is a one channel and one microphone radio. not a fancy sound streaming device. hay! angel! the byters are coming, quick! shut that stereo width.2. saim seen, when he tells the other guy to turn down the volume, Sorry  can not connect their voices to their names, a lot of sounds would come after this statement, but I'm sure that there is a volume knob turning sound, without any low cut filter. let's put away those facts the the volume knob wouldn't be heard at the best of circumstances, Definitely not when there is loud music and a radio wouldn't pick up those noises.3. after they tagged the zombies with trackers, daatu tells james the good news of their success. he brings him the beeping tracker device with this sentence. let me turn up the volume! what? is not that the tracking device? As in, dots on a screen with possible coordinates which has nothing to do with the beep sound volume at all? as a reminder, we, are listening to audio podcast, you have access to visuals.despite all this, I find myself easily communicating with story and it's actors, In so far that I hate scratch and imagined 8 complete ways of horribly killing hir. .

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

This topic is...ahem, still alive?I'm reviving it only because others have before me, and I figure this is a well-established thread already. Why make another? Its last post was almost three years back, but jumps of a year or two have happened before. Either way, don't blame me. Maybe one some zombie or other got its teeth into it. Or maybe I'm a zombie.Anyway, I just binge-watched the whole main series, and I have this to say.For anyone still reading, definitespoilersfollowStill here? Okay, gonna let rip.I mostly liked this series. Audio production was good (not great). I noticed a lot of stock sounds, and a lot of inconsistencies (especially in the earlier seasons). A couple of the voice actors got on my very last nerve (Scratch when she yells, Lizzy, Angel and Michael with the way they sometimes phrase things). Some of the narrated bits are just straight-up clunky. Oh and also? The past tense of "drag" is "dragged", not "drug". They made this mistake three or four times. As far as characters? My favourites were the soldiers (by which I mean Puck, Muldoon, Robins, Karl), CJ (though she grew on me, I disliked her at first), Pegs and Riley. Pegs started out weak and got a lot stronger. Riley started out strong and got a lot weaker. Both of the voice actors for those characters did a good job. I also found myself liking Bricks, even though he was on the wrong side of the mess. Most of the rest were either uneventful, whiny or otherwise not all that interesting to me. And ye gods, Pippin's accent. Now, to some plot points I especially liked and especially disliked:First, for something I liked. Not so much a plot point, but I do appreciate how Lizzy and Bricks became fairly friendly. I thought that was a nice touch; humanized Bricks a bit and made it so the mallers weren't just faceless killers with no depth.Next, something I intensely disliked, and it has to do with Lizzy. She is probably my least favourite character overall. She's useful as hell early on, then peters out, falls asleep at her post, gets booted, gets captured, then we spend most of season 2 wondering how they'll free her. Then Saul has to basically lie to CJ, who really just wants to be left alone, to get Lizzy back. And what does Lizzy do? She accuses Saul of not confessing everything to her involving CJ, then plays the hypocrite card and gets pissed when Saul calls her out about Bricks. Apparently it's okay for her not to specifically mention things, but not okay for him. Enormous double standard, and I think I'd have chucked her out a window to be dev--well, no, that's cruel, she was pregnant after all. But that seriously nailed her coffin shut. It was sad that she died the way that she did, but to my way of seeing it, Lizzy was dead weight after saving the tower, character-wise.Next thing I liked: Kalani's arc. Yeah, I know the dude was a rat from the first, and made some really ugly choices. But it's got to suck to know that your daughter is in the hands of criminals, and it must've gutted him when the mallers shot her at the fake exchange. No wonder he went out in a blaze of glory. I think this was pretty well-played.Okay, next thing I dislike: Ink, and more clearly, this whole obsession with staying put. The whole "we can't run" angle. When the big attack at the Colony happened, it was December. They only hit mass shortages in April. If they knew Ink was hanging around - and they did - and if they knew (as they should have) that fuel was going to run out, and water was going to be a problem, why the hell wouldn't they have made a point to scavenge fuel for the helicopter, and maybe even another helicopter or even a plane, to fly everyone out? It doesn't make sense that they'd stay holed up where they were, it feels too convenient. And then what burns me even more? Those missions to Radon Labs and to the jail. That jail thing just seems pointless. I mean seriously. You know you're dealing with a zombie, not something that can come chasing you. That argument of "we went a thousand miles to Boulder and he still followed" is bullshit, because there was panic involved and nobody tracked the biter that grabbed onto the chopper. As Tanya points out near the end, the only reason it's so bad in Los Angeles is that Ink and the humans are fighting for space and for survival. There would have been no shame in establishing a new base nearer to a much bigger supply of fresh water. They could have and should have done this. As such, a lot of the Ink-related stuff later just feels drawn out, and I find myself not caring as much what happened. I was just hoping to get to the end. Hell, even that long trek where Datu finally turned just felt like padding, though I confess the flashback where Michael lets Randy turn was a nice gut-punch.Last thing I particularly liked: Burt losing his finger. God, that hurt to hear. Scott Marvin (Burt's voice actor) overdoes it a bit

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

I'd recommend this series to anyone, I particularly appreciated how goodthe characterisation was and how nobody was quite just the one shot way they appeared on the surface, for example in the first episode you think Angel is going to be the authoritarian arse in charge then he turns out to be anything but. Apart from Pippin's rather atrocious attempt at sounding English, the series audio production is also exceptional, and I like the fact not all questions are answered, though for anyone who has it, the spinoff lockdown does answer some questions, although I think that is paid only while all the main series episodes are free.As to spoilers I rather like the way Ink worked, though as I said previously in this topic the huge! guilt thing about @it's all our fault@  going rather too far, I do need to listen to the series again though and put the clues in when I can hear all the episodes rather than having to wait as I did previously.

Interesting stuff, I had it in mind myself that the gliff would be five equal lines touching the bottom of the three arcse and coming down like half a circle cut into five equal slices (think half of a ten slice pizza), so while I do see the hand thing it didnt emmediately occur to me.

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

So... Back in June they uploaded the protection mark to their FaceBook account. Its just drawn, Black on White. You can see the Picture here. Now weve learned that its a petroglyph from New Mexico. Kc has confirmed that its 100 percent based on a real petroglyph, but he hasnt released his source for it since he wasnt sure whether or not it would add to the magic and mystery surrounding it or take away from it.Since we were introduced to it on January 27th this year (yes, Ive checked the date ) I, and quite a lot of others, have tried to find it. Some people took the Picture from FB and had Google search for Pictures that matched, but no luck.Remember the description given by Puck back in chapter 42? Well,
here it is:Three lines on top, arched like a rainbow. And then underneath, five lines spread out like a fan coming to a point. All this is drawn inside a circle as far as I remember... At least on the Picture posted on FaceBook, which made some people joke about it being a wifi symbol for zombies. I had no idea what a wifi symbol looked like, so I asked some friends in a chat. One of the Words that was used to descripe it was concentric, which turned out to be the Word I needed to find the actual petroglyph. In the second to last episode from The Were Alive Fancast they have another QA with Kc where he reveals that the five fingers represent a hand. Im still a bit lost there, since I thought the symbols meaning was unknown, but well. Cause thats the thing... In the real World it has no known meaning, its just a carving in a rock... But yeah, Kc gave it a meaning and a purpose in his story.I decided
to Google petroglyph three concentric arcs just to see what I would find. As the second hit I found this page with a Picture from 2006.The description of the Picture is:This fascinating symbol consists of a hand under three concentric arcs.Sounds familiar? Thats what I thought. Ive had more than five sighted people to compare the two symbols, and all of them agreed. Half of them hadnt even listened to the show, so it wouldnt just be some sort of fangasm from their side that lead them to think it was that petroglyph.Maybe I shall add that this Picture is from Three Rivers, which apparently is an area with a huge amount, read 21000 or more, petroglyphs. Guess where its located? Yup! New Mexico! The two Pictures arent exactly identical though, on the
real one the three arcs seem to go all the way Down on each side of the five ones spread out underneath. Another thing is that on the WA symbol the five lines have different lengths in such a way that it doesnt really look like an actual hand. In the other Picture theyre so long that they reach out and touch the bottom arc of the Rainbow. At least thats what Ive been told. But yeah... It is still five lines spread out like a fan coming to a point with three lines arched like a Rainbow above them, carved into a rock that is found in New Mexico.Kc has not confirmed this yet, but I have posted it on the WA forum too about a day ago right after I found it. I thought Id just let you Guys here know as well in case you dont go to their forum[[wow]]... This is way longer than I thought it would be, but well... Lots of stuff to write... And this is just about yesterdays research I have tons of websides in my favorites about petroglyphs and rock art, I might even have a few about Three Rivers but not sure... I am certain that I havent found this one before though, at least not with a description of it. See, thats another funny thing... I find it sort of amusing that the guy WHO ends up finding a Picture of the real petroglyph is 100 percent blind... Now we just need to find the fish on fire, although that ones not really that important... That one is a petroglyph as well, according to Kc in the latest interview from Were Alive Fancast. So yeah... Enjoy! I think Ill give the series a relisten very soon.

@Briant with Ink I wasnt disappointed with the lack of answers, though i think they couldve provided a better way of answering questions than just having michael say basically well Tanya thought this and that after the fact. With Ink however my main complaint is it was all over to quickly. I knew someone would be going to where cody was, and it being saul made sense but was annoying, i also liked Saul and the katana however to go streight from that to Saul setting off the bomb was just too quick. I wouldve had Michael and victor go down for Saul, or maybe find that the bomb needed some components which only they had, then have Sauls sacrifice on the way out after a big underground battle with ink and whatever the big creation mentioned in the previous story was, heck it wouldve been nice to see one of Inks labs actually in production rather than the abandoned ones we&
#039;ve seen thus far. I also think Randy deserved more of a sendoff than he got, just being nutted by Victor at a correct moment. In general as I said I fully agree about the scratch resolution, Berts shes not a killer, but I am! speaking of Riley was very nice and quite unexpected, however it felt rather Scratch got the Lions share of the time. Really id have preferd less epilogue and more Ink, or maybe have the finale be two separate parts, one dealing with ink, one with scratch, heck, if they thought the extended epilogue was necessary maybe two parts and an epilogue.Indeed, rather than being longer than previous chapters as other finales have been (remember the four part season 1 finale), chapter 50 was actually a minuute or two less than standard length, just in one part rather than three, (given that the average length of a part is around 23 minutes a
nd chapter 50 was 70). As I said, the finale wasnt bad, and Im happy with what information was revealed, I just wish there had been more time left to wrap plots up and give Ink and the maor zombies as much of a conclusive sendoff as Scratch got.

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

@Dark: I suggest you go and listen to the QA I linked to in my previous post, a lot of your questions are answered in there. For the remastered CD version of S4 it sounds like they aim for the end of this year. The complete box set will probably take longer, more than a year, since they want to release it with more than just the four seasons and make something really nice out of it rather than something rushed...As for Randys last scene... Remember that the only one he actually meant something to was Michael, to Victor it was just another biter. The first time I listened to it I felt we were missing something too, but after the third or fourth time... Well, I cant really see what else they should have done? Jumping from roof to roof seems a bit too Hollywoodish, besides Angel, Riley and Datu already did that in season 1. But yeah, as I said, go and listen
to the QA, lots of good stuff in there.

Epic yes, though I do feel they couldve done more as I said in my previous post on the subject. For me the finale did its job, ticked the boxes, but wasnt quite the awsome ending I really wantd. Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

ok, here are my thoughts on the final episode.I loved the scratch resolution. It was good not to see here outright killed, but rather to rot away in a concrete coffen of birts own making.I was a little disappointed that Saul had to die, but he went down in glory. As to ink, while I somewhat agree that there should have been more on the resolution, at the same time I kind of like the fact that we have unanswered questions, because it leaves listeners to speculate without knowing what the real answers to the questions are. And also, there are mentions on the website of KC working on another podcast along the story line of were alive, so maybe well get a lot more of our questions answered in that podcast.Overall, Im very pleased with how the series ended. I am a little sad that theres no more waiting for were alive episodes, though. No more Monday waits. I am probably going to download and listen to the whole series again. I
find that when I listen to things again, I tend to catch stuff that I missed the first time through.

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

Ah, Ill try that. I can see where the confusion was, sinse I assumed the merchandise store was where you bought T shirts, mugs etc, not the audios themselves.Edit: okay, Ive now bought the finale pack, downloaded it and am about to hear it Im quite excited especially seeing the title which I wont spoil. One question however, the Godaddy merchandise store didnt have the other series remastered box sets you mention. Is there any other way to buy those other than using either Audible or Itunes? I was hoping theyd be in the main store as sstandard downloads but it seems not.

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

I bought them as physical CDs through Amazon, so not sure if you can buy them as downloads the same way as the ring tone packs and finale pack. Glad to hear you got it working though Personally Im quite satisfied with how the story ends, only a few minor Things that I wished were different, but all in all Kc managed to end off the series pretty well... Definitely not a Lost kind of ending..

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

Ah, if you bought the cds fair enough, sinse buying those from Amazon wouldnt be a problem. if they do a remastered season 4 or a full box set of the hole bundle I might actually do that in the future sinse its a good enough series to want a physical reminder of. Now, finale time! beware! Spoilers below! spoilers that will spoil your enjoyment of the finale with all their spoilerific spoiliness! so stop here lest you wish the finale spoiled by the spoilers! I really liked the Scratch plot, the resolution with all the characters felt exactly right and I also loved the fact that after huge and pyrotehcnic battles over both towers with rocket powered grenades and goodness knows what else, we just got a quiet but intense small group battle in the building. I wouldve liked Cj to confront Scrach again, but hay you cant have everything. I also thought the resolution with Bert and Rily was awsome, harsh, but awsome! My problem
was with the ink dispatching. The entire story was 70 minutes however nearly half was epilogue, this didnt really feel like enough time to deal with Ink correctly. I was looking forward to hearing him speak and maybe seeing some of his zombie labs up close and personal. sAul having a sacrifice was wonderfully unexpected (though I knew it was all over when he said he was going after the robot), however generally the sequence really didnt feel as complete as it shouldve done, heck the Prison or the Hospital seemed more major events which is quite something when your talking about the closest thing to a king zombie. Once Saul started fighting INk and Ink proved amazingly tough, I did wonder if the guys would go down after Saul and wed get more of a show down, but sadly not, and while what Saul did was great Michael sort of felt superfluous to requirements. The Epilogue was a nice idea and I like the fact that the framing story was rev
ealed as Michael and co talking to Nicholas, a very nice touch. However I felt this hole segment dragged on a little too long and took up too much time. The Exposition of the zombies was nicely vague, while still providing a little more information, (though Id have preferd a better way of presenting this in the story than just Michael jawing about it), , but by the point Id finished that I really didnt care that much about whether Nicholas joined the guard or not, and the real point of that scene, showing what Bert, puck and Cj were upto and showing the protection symbol couldve been done without the all the prevarication, indeed I was half wondering if the zombie Nicholas sighted with the rifle was going to turn out to be someone significant, particularly sinse we never saw Inks last project that Saul threatened about in the previous chapter. In general Im mostly pleased with the finale and feel it does indeed provide a go
od end to most of the series elements, I just wish Ink got more of a send off, actually this should really have been a multi part story so that one full section could be devoted to scratch, and another to Ink. While Scratch certainly got her due (we even found out about why shes been missing so long), Ink didnt seem to which was a trfle disappointing and made Michael and Victor feel a bit unnecessary in the end, indeed I thought the appearence of Randy (though I did wonder if that would be Randy or Inks last project), was something of an anticlimax. So in the end, yeah, it was a good finale, but I do think they couldve done a better job, especially if you compare it to the build up and execution of past finales (especially season 1). Ill be interested to see what they do next. A seuqel to were alive would of course be possible, though as a fan of stories that end properly rather than trickle off into mediocraty, id p
refer if it did have a distinct ending, though other stuff set in the same world, perhaps exploring the new Mexico origin of the zombies, or the Texus colony might be fun, sinse surely Ink wasnt the only person to discover ways to manipulate the zombies for his own purposes, and there are definitely more bad people like the mawlers around. Then again, given the writing tallents of KC Wayland, perhaps a new genre would be a nice change, he could do a great job with any story that chucks a number of ordinary people into an extraordinary situation.

@Dark: Youre not exactly right there though. It is true that you dont get anything new story wise, but small mistakes from the podcast have been fixed, and the entire seasons are remastered.I just bought the final chapter. You recieve an email with a link that you will have to click. This will take you to a page with a download button. You will be able to download the .zip file twice, so make sure you will be able to finish it before your connection gets cut or something The size, unextracted, is 71,8 megabytes and it contains three music tracks along with the chapter.I havent listened to it yet though, but Im looking forward to. ^^

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

Well Ive now got up to date with the series. I did like the cody section, I was waiting for something to go wrong because it had to, but the way it happened was nice, though I find Tanyas rather vague speculations about the gas coming off the rotting corpse of something older a bit weerd. Scratch had to come back of course, though Im interested to find out where shes been. She had a comment at the colony about having already defeated them or something after driving around with Tardust, and Im still not sure what she meant sinse if she just planned to attack dunbar she couldve done that much earlier, I suspect she has nastier surprises planned. With Riley I actually find myself respecting bert more than I expected with him being the one to suggest that they need to go and let people know how they were and at least see people, in fact I do suspect hes hoping that if Riley get chatting to pegs, michael and co shell start f
ocusing less on guilt and revenge but sadly that wont happen. As to weather violinist is correct that Riley is doomed, I dont know, with Were alive you really cant predict whos going to die which is one of the nicest things about the series.I do wonder if Riley will get the chance to kill scratch but then not to avoid becoming like her, but well have to see.I wouldnt object to paying for the finale sinse the series music is good, though I would prefer not to use audible as I dont have an audible account and last I checked Amazon paid downloads were a right pain in the arse to get once youd bought them, actually i wish they just sold the stuff streight off the way Leviathan chronicles did. Either way Im looking forward to see how things turn out, though with wrapping up plots for scratch and ink I do hope we have time for everything.

Beware! large and tyrant sized spoilage for 48-1, read on at own risk.Yep, I was surprised at how quickly Saul came out, though Im glad sinse Saul getting the chop would be just depressing, for all I certainly wouldnt put it passed a series like Were alive. A lot of explanation but other than the bit about the symbols, and the speculation on Inks motivations Im not sure how much was actually stuff we didnt know sinse we do know that ink has been evolving the zombies. I find it a little weerd if the imunity that Saul and Tanya had from the gas at ground zero was to do with them being chosen by INk, sinse while I can accept that a zombie would sort of obey instinctive commands, its a bit harder to swallow that the effected, and gas would, sinse even if it was some sort of crazy sentient gas, none of the uneffected people actually had the protection symbol on them at that point, and though I can accept that ink can order around
zombies, Im not sure how he could order a gas coming up from cracks in the earth .I also dont necessarily agree with Tanyas rather doom laiden conclusion that because Ink was trying to survive at all costs and the human survivers effort were a threat to him thats why things have got so bad in Los angeles, sinse frankly if INk had used his powers over the zombies to stay away from the survivers they wouldnt have come into conflict anyway, heck if Ink had promised the survivers protection from the zombies theyd have welcomed him with open arms. Of course Ink as a psycho mainiac murdering zombie nutball probably isnt going to think like that, but that is no reason for Tanya to really feel guilty. To an extent it almost feels like the author is trying to create guilt and tragedy for its own sake with that conclusion where
there really doesnt need to be one.I do still wonder how Ink kept from going completely mindless like the other zombies when he became infected, and especially i wonder what on earth that gas is, though whether well get any answers to this goodness knows.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=177254#p177254

I confess, Im going to feel it a bit anticlimactic if her only presence is indirect. We do have the clue of her brief appearance a few eps back, but then where did she go? Unless were going to find her in the zombie cave and Pegs is somehow going to get pulled into saving or not saving her? That could be cheesy as hell.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=176021#p176021

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

I dont think scratch is likely to be in the zombie cave, nor do I really see pegs and the dunbar crew heading in their anyway. Scratches comment earlier after watching the trucks pull out of the colony saying its done was far to ominous for me to expect shes out of the series. My personal thought is some sort of biological agent, though well see.I do agree that they are worryingly close to the final end of the series with so much else unexplained, though I think itll probably be longer than two hours sinse if I am correct each of the previous series finale chapters was a longer special, still I hope they get a move on with the plot resolution as we have several main threads that need wrapping up and a lot still about the zombies that needs some degree of explanation.Hay, maybe Saul snuffs it in the zombie caves and Scratch finishes up as Nicholas foster mum .URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=176029#p176029

Seriously I dont personally think Scratch running into Pegs again is that important for plot resolution, Id be far more interested to see Scratch meet up with Riley and bert, sinse Tardusts comment about Riley being just like Scratch was worryingly close to the mark.I suspect of the last two chapters one will involve scratch and another involve Ink, sinse I dont really see how the two plots will end up connecting unless Scratch indeed does turn out to be in the zombie caves, which would indeed be a copout.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=176029#p176029

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

Beware! 46.3 spoilage! if youve not heard 46.3 do not read on lest your enjoyment be spoilified. Well quite an explosive ending. i wasnt overly surprised at what happened to Tardust, though in a way it was better than what I thought was going to happen, what with a very pissed of Riley and a lot of nearby bear traps, in one sense Tardust was sort of lucky she just shot him. I do rather wonder why Tardust didnt just say he new Lizy from the time that the Mawlers were taking charge of the colony, I know that between wisky, having his leg mangled by a bear trap and generally not exactly being the worlds best lyer anyway there is a reason he ended up blurting things out, but at the same time youd think someone with as good an instinct for self preservation as Tardust would know to keep his gob shut when around people as potentially volotile as Riley. I did like his speach about Riley being the same as Scratch though,
and the way that even Bert, a man who has more reason to hate Scratch and the Nawlers than most was trying to calm the situation down, quite the role reversal. As to the major zombie plot, well Im not surprised at working out that there were pockets of gas under the cracks at ground zero and that this was related to the fault lines, though Im not exactly sure how Tanya got from that realization to the idea of actual tunnels, after all couldnt the gas just exist like pockets of natural gas do in hollow spaces within the earths crust? I suppose well learn more if Michael and victor end up heading into the zombie tunnels, which seems all the more likely given randys appearence and the fact theyll probably end up going in after Saul.I hope this isnt it for Saul, indeed Ill admit that was quite shocking, though at the same time I can sort of understand Randys thinking on that one given that Randy was i
n the same military unit with Saul and Michael.I do hope Saul survives as for Saul to die at this stage would be just plane depressing, leaving poor nickolas an Orphan, but well have to see.I also now do think its likely that the trip into the zombie caves will spell the end of the series somehow, given that the steaks have just got higher and that there are now only two chapters left. Seems a shame to have to wait for two weeks for the next episode .URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175914#p175914

That is an interesting idea, and itd sort of be ironic and in the spirit of the series if Michael returns from his big world saving zombie hunt to find his airhead of a girlfriend zombified . At least shed then serve a purpose in the series other than flying helecopters (which blatantly seemed like the author realizing how much of a fifth wheel pegs was. Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

Beware! 46.2 spoilage ahoy!Well that was an interesting one, though i did rather feel the writer let us have it easy by only showing the end of Tardusts torture and not presenting all of it. In a way it actually bothers me slightly that that is presented so casually, with Riley and bert having a very offhand conversation and only afterwards you get what theyre doing, sinse while Tardust is certainly not a nice guy, that doesnt exactly justify being so casual about torturing him, oh and yes, dragging someone behind a car is definitely torture. You can understand completely why Riley and Bert are in a position to do it, but that still doesnt make it okay and I hope there are some consequences somewhere. I do think Wed heard that Tardusts name was Philip earlier, at least I dont remember wondering who he was when Riley and Bert grabbed him though that might just be because I recognized his voice, but I intend to listen to the se
ries again once it is finished anyway. I hope we dont finish with Dunbar being attacked, sinse that would be an annoying repeat of the finales of both seasons 1 and 2, though I would be surprised if Michaels latest expedition is the final ending, albeit it might turn up some information that leads to it. With regards to the symbols, I actually do wonder what is going on, I suspect the meaning of all of them is connected as being protection, though protection from what is the question, its also not exactly clear how the gas and inks ability to keep at least some of his mind line up, though the fact that the boddies of dead zombies decay into the gass from the cracks is interesting, especially sinse I dont imagine a virus is involved. With regards to Skittles and sweat, if he was unable to sweat in a place with temperatures as high as they get in California, paticularly given all the running around hes done hed be in real
danger of dying of heat stroke. I also dont think hes a slow turner, because manifestly zombies still come after slow turners even if the gas doesnt affect them.I suspect there is some sort of family relation between Skittles and Ink, particularly with how paranoid Skittles is that Ink might find him, though hopefully well find out at least that much. Even if we dont find out about the gas and the cracks, I do hope the ink situation works out. Its always been Inks evolutions of the zombies that have caused the real problems and have kept the zombies a major threat through the series, heck the setup at the Urvin base or at Boulder wouldve worked out fine if not for Ink and the little ones, so if the evolution process can be stopped there is some sort of hope of eventually reclaiming the earth, though with only two chapters left well have to see.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175341#p175341

Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

If you go back and listen to the scene where Burt and Riley grab him at the greenhouse they ask about his name. He immediately answers Philip, which makes me think thats also his true name. He sounds too scared to make up a lie right then... Well, and they just woke him up, so I guess his first reaction is to just speak the truth. Its only after then that we find out that its Tardust that theyve found.Regarding Skittles... Well, he does sweat it seems. My thought wouldve been that he might not be able to due to either an illness or maybe some meds he was on before the outbreak. My NeXT theory is that he doesnt produce pheromones, but not sure if thats realistic... Third would be that hes a slow turner, and Thus ignored by the zombies, just like Jay ignored Datu at the well - and even walked away from him even though he was shouting.Hmm, so we now know the meaning of three of the six symbols from the jail.1. The Egyp
tian eye thing which is the eye of Horos, not that hard to figure that one out to be honest... I havent heard of other Egyptian eye symbols at least.2. The bird foot. Now that one was a bit harder, and I havent seen anyone finding that symbol... Thanks to Tanya! It turns outu to be the rune Algiz from my ancestors alphabet. How awesome! 3. The Chinese protection symbol. Not sure if thats the fish on fire, the snake, the cross with a triangle on it or the Rainbow fan thing. My guess would be the snake, from what Ive gathered from Google so far, but not sure. The one Im mainly interested in though is the Rainbow one...Five lines spread out like a fan coming to a point. And on top three lines arched like a Rainbow.I dont think Ive ever heard about such a symbol, but Ill keep googling. It seems that wev
e got symbols from all over the World and from different cultures, but still with the same meaning. I guess Ink did that to make sure that hed be protected against whoever hed meet on his way... Or something... I dont know.Looking forward to 46.3 to hear what Tanyas other idea about Ink knowing about the outbreak is, Pegs coughing kinda interrupted that. And yeah, I dont have anything to add about the gas from the bodies. Lol! This post is getting long enough as it is, I dont need to write half a page about some yellow gas that we dont really know much about anyway.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=175289#p175289

Beware! possible spoilers for 46 part 1.Well with us approaching the end I decided not to wait a month for all of chapter 46 and go with an episode a week. I agree with under pressure however at the same time not a lot of progress has been made towards the plot resolution in that episode unless you count duncan, aka skittles getting sweaty, and its not even been explained why his sweat makes him unsmellable to zombies anyway. I think if chapter 48 is the end weve got a lot of explaining to do just to reach something satisfactory, though i do get at least part of the reason that this chapter was focusing on Saul, Michael and co was simply to hold the suspense of what has happened to Tardust.I dont know if the next part will show what Bert and rily have been up to, or whether well finally get scratch and the other mawlers showing what theyve been up to wit

Under Pressure definitely fits what is going on in this chapter thus far. Saul is under pressure with being a father, all of its problems and the loss of Lizzy. Re: We're alive - SPOILERS!

Well Ive just heard chapter 45. I can see the point of having something of a cool down following the last chapters big events, but I am a little concerned still that there wont be time enough to end things in a satisfactory way. I was waiting for scratches plan to come out, sinse we know for a fact that Tardust was telling the truth and that she was following the convoy, so what shes got in mind is going to be something especially unpleasant, particularly if its enough to scare tardust after all the stuff hes already done on behalf of the mawlers. Then again he was never quite as commited to some of the more extreme things scratch did such as her torture of Bert. The situation with Rily is an interesting one, and the question left hanging at the end of the chapter as to whether Rily will go through with torture or not. I particularly want to see what happens if she finds out it was Tardust who nearly did something bad to Lizzy in the
furniture store, sinse I could see that one tipping the balance into something fairly horrendous, and Bert is right in that once you start you cant untorture someone. I know Id have much more respect for Rily if she holds back but given that shes already extremely on edge Im not sure how that one will work. I could disturbingly see Rily finishing with having to cope with the fact that shes actually turning into Scratch herself. Regarding the zombie situation I was always fairly sure there was something going on with skittles, indeed it wouldnt surprise me to learn that hes related to Ink in some way or other which is why the zombies dont attack him and why he originally ended up letting ink into Dunbar. I do hope however there will be at least enough time to realize who Ink is, how he fits in to the business with the cracks, and then deal with him in a suitable way. The saul situation is just plane depressing, though int
erestingly enough this could have a baring if scratch winds up at the colony given her history and her interest in Lizzys baby. Id actually prefer this sinse I didnt personally like the oooh look Scratch has a tragic past thing, it struck me as far too cliche and tied into the idea that abuse or bad circumstances make people evil (which if you look at the cast of were alive would probably produce a hole bunch of villains). I preferd Scratch as just a naturally sadistic psychotic villain who you love to hate! Still, if the plot makes use of this past history for Scratch rather than just having it as part of convention I could certainly see the point. hay! maybe thats how it ends, Scratch marries Saul and Becomes Nicholas new mummy! . (this is not a serious suggestion). I do also find I rather miss Datu as wel
