Hi folks,
I was just asked about the audio quality of the Sonos system relative
to the Transporter. My answer was that from the little I can see on
the Sonos web site the Transporter seems to have made a stronger effort
for audiophile sound.
On my part it is mostly a guess. I have not listened
I added a Rotel RB1090 to power the BW speakers. Sounds quite nice.
Though I must admit that the Classe amp sounded even better, but that
one was more than twice as expensive :-)

volume via the switch on the back, I get no sound at all out of

In Player Settings|Audio there is a digital volume control, and preamp
volume control.
Preamp volume control only affects the analog output, so setting it to
63 (dB attenuation) will mute the
Cutting and restripping would be the most effective, as it's stranded

Hello all.
Looking at the posts about the new Transporter I thought I would add my
experience (so far) to the mix.
I bought the Transporter in the end because I had heard only good
things about the SB and I wanted a network player so that I could avoid
my 1 year old daughter using my CD
were you streaming files to the TP or using it as a DAC, there is a big
difference in my system.
If you streamed files, were they lossless or full file or lossy mp3
If they weren't lossless or full file it's not an apples to apples
comparison.
