Keep up the good work Cheri! I'm proud to also be a member since the beginning
and have gone from asking questions to helping out! I remember when I couldn't
read a document and the wonderful advice you have me, now I'm more than happy
to help others read theirs. Giving back is a great thing,
Your passion for Geneology led to this. You inspire me. Your site has
helped me find family members that I didn't even know I had. Thank you
sooo much Cheri. Happy Birthday to the Azores Geneology group.
Imagine!...if we all got together...this would be one heck of a party! :)

Thank you for your reply. What I meant by interchangable was if the

Thank you Cheri! Without you having started this group, I never would have

little hard for a legally blind person to read some of those documents.
How about Pilar de Bretanha?

OK, got it. The answer is maybe. Just like you can't put a Ford air filter
in a Toyota. But depending on the lab, FTDNA may be able to take partial
I got turned onto this group by Cheri herself, when I wrote an email to the
FTDNA website she responded to me, we spkoe on the phone for over an hour
and I learned a lot, soon after I was using this group, I had my DNA tested

*What Cheri fails to mention is that her efforts predate the Azores List by
at least 10 years when she was the driving force behind the Portuguese

OK, if you must know ...
I've been at this 20 years. First I was on AOL and ran the Portuguese chat
there with Mel (of YourIslandRoutes), John Vasconcelos, and Linda C who did
the Madeira questions. When the AOL genealogy chats were reconfigured by
AOL, the Portuguese chats went to LusaWeb.
That's right! Cheri has been the driving force for our little group for
many years. I remember those yearrs well! I am one of those oldtimers,
too. She has always been so knowledgeable and helpful and kind to everyone.
She is a shining star and a credit to our ancestry! Thank you
I did the Ancestry DNA test when they have me a promotional amount of 9.00. It
is surprising as I have 4 matches all portuguese and the ones that have large
trees on Ancestry.com they will actually tell you the persons you match at on
your trees. So I was surprised because they were correct
Thanks Cheri and Happy 7th birthday. Your endeavour has brought together
