Black Vulture
Hello,
We ( my son Jakub, Wojtek Grezlikowski and myself) visited: Charles, Moose
Factory and Ship Sands Islands. First two islands we explored around and
across, third, along the East shore ( 8 hours). We have noted total of 30

As we move into Fall and experience increased bird activity we can
expect more reports on Ontbirds. Please do not overload the system with
reports of common birds that can be seen anywhere in the province.
Please continue to report concisely and with directions the following:

Hello again Ontbirders,
10 intrepid birders joined me for some Ottawa area birding today. The
weather was truly hideous with heavy rain and wind. With such wild
weather we were hopeful of something great turning up and 6 of us
stuck it out from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. In the end we had no

This afternoon's strong northwesterly winds lured me from Stratford to Kettle
Point, where almost immediately upon arrival at ~2:50 PM I was greeted by a
dark-morph juvenile Parasitic Jaeger very close to shore.
No luck with jaegers during the subsequent 90 minutes that I spent at the tip

I spent 1.5 hrs. birding Rattray Marsh starting just after the rain
quit at 1:00 pm. At 1:35 pm while looking at a small accipiter

Black Vulture
At least one adult black-bellied plover was feeding with a couple of juveniles
just off Scrivens until about 4:45pm.
This may be the same one I saw earlier flying up and down Ottawa Beach and
Scrivens. I was referring to the mudflats at Scrivens earlier.

There are 12 adult Hudsonian Godwits at Constance Bay this afternoon. They
can be seen from the beach access point closest to Buckham's Bay. From
Constance Bay drive, follow Bayshore around past the Lighthouse restaurant.
The access point is just before you bend around along Buckham's Bay. The

shorebirds are spread along the shoreline.

Hello birders:
A juvenile Red Knot highlighted a good assortment of shorebirds at
Presqu'ile early this afternoon that also included a bright juvenile Stilt

For those wishing to attend the Presqu'ile OFO outing tomorrow (Sunday), be

Hi Ontbirders:
Took a drive down to Scrivens Road to see the earlier reported Black-Bellied

Earlier in the week I had found 3 American Golden Plovers in non-breeding
plumage along that same st

Terry Sprague has brought to my attention a very big omission in my
recent Kingston Area report: A hatch-year FRANKLIN'S GULL photographed
near Aldolphuston on Sep 5. The photograph was reviewed by several
experienced birders (but not me personally). No further reports of
this bird have been made t

There is a large flock of 23, mostly adult, Black-bellied Plover, on the
mudflats between Britannia Point and Andrew Hayden Park. The birds are skittish
so I would advise against approaching too closely. This area is best viewed
