Got it off the CNet download page, but link seemed broken last night, but

Does anyone know how to uninstall Avast free? I have tried through control
panel but finally it tells me there was an error in uninstalling. Grrr. It
also won't uninstall from the programs page or from the system tray.
Needless to say, this is preventing my trying a different antivirus.

All that I know about safe mode is that you have to be sighted to use it.
Jaws doesn't work in that mode.
Before you tried to uninstall Avast, did you disable it / turn it off
through the system tray? I know that you can't uninstall a program if it is
running in the background.

Why are you wanting to uninstall Avast? I have been using Avast for well
over a year and like it very much. The only thing I don't like about it, is
that you have to use it manually and can't program it to run on a schedule.
