Hello friends,
In my frequent walks around the Mount Pleasant fields, I’ve noticed a number of
Eastern Bluebirds there over the past few weeks. I’m used to seeing/hearing
them in spring/summer/early fall. Not so much over winter. The distribution
While walking our dog this morning, we observed two Northern Harriers in the
Mt. Pleasant/Mineah fields—one the field by the Mt. Pleasant/Mineah
intersection, the other on the field further down the abandoned part of Mineah
road. I unfortunately couldn’t tell if male or female, but as I know
And my FOY Bobolinks seen on the fields across from the SPCA on Hanshaw Rd. And
heard! Just a few of them, but unmistakable, and such lovely song.

2 Sandhill Cranes at the pond by the visitor center this AM, along with a
number of Northern Pintails, Green-winged Teals, and at least one American

Bluebirds (small flock, at least from what I could tell; maybe about 8 or so)
spotted on the Mount Pleasant fields this morning; not the first time this
winter though. I’m pretty sure they’ve been there a for at least the last
couple of weeks.
