This maybe a stupid question. When the software was install by the system admin the password supplied did not work and option for single address was selected. Would this cause my problem? And by selecting that option what happens?

Yes that could have a profound effect, under single IP the server is in development mode and can only be accessed from itself.Usually as localhost and/or 127.0.0.1, but if you set up a website in your local IIS (or other web server I presume) you may also access it under that name from the local
This is not a demo but the key supplied did not work and I understand that he (Administrator) opted for single user.

It would be showing for both of you. They just haven't noticed it or
haven't browsed a file that may be crashing CF.
If it restarts it shows it for internal and external users.
There is not one answer of how to solve the problem. More than likely
there is a file on your server that is causing

Crit,
It can be a number of issues, usually when JRUN craps out its because the system has crapped out. Next time this happens check your processes and see what the CPU and RAM usage is like. If you are running multiple instances, you may have one too many.

As others have pointed out, it could be a number of issues,
I searched through a number of forums and found some people got this
message when using COM objects, or when calling
getPageContext.forward(). Also this can also appear if CF has just
restarted due to reaching x amount of unresponsive
