In 2016 we visited the Newport boat show and are now thinking that it might be
fun to plan a trip in October to the Annapolis boat show. But is it worth the

Many of the ships models in glass cases were saved. No word on the
trophys, but the major trophy case was near the back of the club near many
of the models away from the worst of the fire.
News reports say they will rebuild elsewhere. They have 2 large parcels on

Cause has not been determined. Its unclear if they can rebuild, or if the
building has to be demolished. It is concrete slab.
Lots of trophys and photos were probably lost.

Joel wouldn’t let us have wine on the boat last year… :^)
That Tripp that went inshore had been doing a half knot better than the leaders
at times; but it looks like everyone else if heading offshore and picking up
some wind now.
PredictWind might give you what you’re looking for.

Wind right now looks like NNE at 15+, according to PredictWind.

It's a little too early in the race to start drinking, isn't it? :)

It looks from the tracking that two more boats are heading back to the Bay,
pulling out of the race. And they’re both in Joel’s class. He’s third in
class now.
And the Tripp that went inshore is doing pretty well; they’re closest to the
rhumb line of the lead group right now.

What kind of device is on board that allows this kind of tracking (asks
the newbie)?

Best of luck to you and the guys; I wish I were going with you this year. I
really hope you can make it out of the Bay in less than two days this year :^)
And once you’re out, ignore the weather briefing and do the rhumb line…
Have a great race!

All,
There are 50 boats entered for the race this year, but only 4 CCs, my 35,
a 38, 39 and 110.
Complete list is here:

The oldest boat appears to be a Cal 40. The newest a Gunboat 55, the
longest and probably most expensive, a Swan
