Stus-List Good Surveyor in Bayfield WI?

2014-09-10 Thread Nate Flesness via CnC-List
We're looking at another boat (the admiral has fallen for the ad for a 90's Tartan, and I'm not resisting - but at least Tartan and CC are now one), and I may soon need a reliable surveyor in the Bayfield area. Any suggestions? I'm especially interested in someone who can really evaluate

Stus-List Sound exciter installation on a CC 30 sailboat

2014-09-10 Thread Joe at Zialater via CnC-List
Howdy all, I installed the sound exciters on my 30 MK1 after watching Ted's video. In a word, fantastic. They sound great and they are totally protected under the cockpit. No drilling or cutting needed and cheap to boot. They attach with double stick tape rings - I plan on working up a better

Nate — Walkie Holzer’s the only guy to use for diesel engines. I wouldn’t leave that to a general surveyor. Try him at 715-209-3550. For general survey, I’d use Phil Peterson in Bayfield; but only as a buyer, not as a seller. He finds some nitpicky stuff that can really spook a buyer,

Any advice on mounting? Number you used? What type of "better solution" do you need for mounting? Ted's video recommends 4 "Hiwave. model number HIAX32C20-8 " But the HiWave model no longer is avail - the Tectonic Elements one you

Unless your hood is different than mine, all it does is keep rain and waves from getting in between the slider and forward part of the companionway, and protect and hide the tracks and slider. I think you want it open all along the bottom, or the water won't be able to drain properly. I think what

Stus-List Lake Superior storm

2014-09-10 Thread Frederick G Street via CnC-List
There’s currently a nasty low passing over Lake Superior; buoy data from two hours ago lists wave height at 14.8 feet with an average period of 7.1 seconds. I keep saying Lake Superior is more like the ocean than a lake; I guess this should help prove that. I’m just glad I’m not out in it...

Ron, I am using a Fusion MS-IP600 stereo unit mounted in the cabin. What you see in the cockpit in the YouTube video is a Fusion MS-WR600 wired remote. I can control all the functions of the cabin mounted unit from the cockpit remote. (Not just the volume) I installed the remote in an

Yikes. Is there a term for that? Square waves are when the height equals the period, but that's twice as bad. I was just sitting here worrying about Odile. www.eebmike.com The forecast track *was* to go straight up the Sea of Cortez, but it now looks like it'll hit Cabo and La Paz dead on.
