Not much going on in the bird department; I've been working on my
pond. Did get a salamander the first day I put water in it,
though! ...and big ol' dragonflies love it.
Today I was out soaking the small shrubs and plants I intend to put

Hi Birders,
Things continue to be slow at the Barr Banding Station. Banded 11 birds today.
We did catch a THIRD Winter Wren, which seems pretty amazing. This one was a
hatch year (as was the second one); all 3 likely Easterns. Here are the
numbers:

COBirders,
The scheduled CFO field trip to the TNC's Fox Ranch property produced
lots of migrant sparrows in the tallgrass prairie, in brush piles, and in
the rolling hills with horseweed, cholla, and little bluestem grasses.

This morning I found a Harris's Sparrow (Looks like '1st Winter' in
Sibleys). It was near the small pond and then flew toward the bridge.
Otherwise it was quiet. The two Chukars were there when I arrived but one
was dead when I left. It must have been hit by a car.
