I didn't have any great photos, so I went for quantity over quality! I
included some (very!) poor quality shots that still managed to show helpful
field marks,
Today, I went to Chatfield searching for the Rusty Blackbirds at the Plum Creek
Delta. I was able to relocate a pair working the same area as previously
reported by Joey Kellner. Photos of both birds can be seen in the rare and
uncommon gallery below and selecting slideshow.

This season I have had a disproportionate amount of Cassiar's Juncos (J. h.
cismontanus) at my feeders. They outnumber all other races for the last
month - even gray-headed!
Correct me if I am wrong, but this should be the only male-plumaged Junco
with a distinct hooded effect and grayish flank
Still present as a 2:15 pm. It was on the water when I arrived at the
fishing platform around 1:45 and proceeded to fly circles around the
northern part of the lake after that, occasionally disappearing to the SW

I was not able to relocate the Harris Sparrow near Kingfisher lot. An adult
Bald Eagle was present yesterday around the heronry overlook, and a Northern
Shrike made a quick pass across the entrance

I took a walk around Lake Estes on Sunday afternoon, and, as of 3:30 when I
left, the previously reported Trumpeter Swans were not present. The colder
temperatures have significantly increased the ice cover on the lake, and I
suspect the swans moved on because the shallower areas where they had
