Yesterday I spent a short time at Chatfield SP early in the morning,
without finding too much of note. The best for me for the park was a
female *Williamson's
Sapscuker* along the path leading to the Original Heronry Overlook
platform. She flew into some pines there, then after a short time flew
I'm starting to look at my (low-quality) photos, and I still favor the ID
we had in the field for Jaegers 1 and 2 at Jumbo: Adult Parasitic. I will
upload some photos soon.
It appears I photographed Jaeger 3 earlier by accident while I was
photographing another, not realizing yet that we
Sorry for posting without any geographical specifics in the title. This report
is for a come-what-may day trip "out east". Good birds, good weather, good
birding friends

I've stopped by Marston a couple times this week to see what was around.
Significant turnover of western and eared grebes and various waterfowl. In a
quick stop today, I had a basic plumage common loon and a lone red-necked
phalarope getting dizzy spinning in circles. A few redheads were tucked
Great photos Glenn, better then the ones I got at Chatfield. Now I see a
posting that three have been seen at Jumbo, so maybe the one I saw was
different and we are having a "jaeger invasion"? That would be awesome.
Here I am planing a trip to San Diego and the Imperil Valley this December

An outing to Timnath Reservoir in Larimer County this afternoon produced 6
Sanderling in the northwest corner of the reservoir along with 2 Pectoral
Sandpipers and several Baird's. A Common Tern was on the north shore sand

Several of us just viewed the PAJA between Lake Loop and Smoky Hill picnic
area. Loafing about halfway between.
Golden brown color and lighter bill with dark nail at end third were visible,
as were white under-wing streaks during short flight. Hanging near slanting

To the folks who let us know. Topi and I are watching him. Also great views of
at least two Sabine's Gulls at Chatfield and a few Clarks grebes among the
numerous Westerns.

A few fall visitors have arrived here this week.
At Castlewood Canyon State Park on Wednesday we encountered three Townsend's
Solitaires, here to spend the winter among the "berry"-laden junipers.
In our yard, Thrusday, we heard our first Blue Jays of the fall. They don't
live here in the
Hi -
I just received a text from David Dowell who is up at Jumbo
(Logan/Sedgwick) and has an as-yet unidentified jaeger.
In addition, I did see the Cherry Creek State Park jaeger this morning
around 7am from the south and west parts of the lake. For the most part
the bird sat out in the middle
Dick Schottler just called, he just had a dark jaeger at Chatfield. The
bird "buzzed" the gulls at the end of the sandspit at 11:50am and flew
towards the east end of the dam.

Birders,
I wanted the cooperative male Ruby-throated Hummingbird to stick around
for the weekend crowd, but it looks like he's gone. I didn't see him
yesterday evening, and a female / immature Black-chinned Hummingbird
visited my feeder in peace this morning. I'll post again if he returns.
