Just got a very nice email from Christian N. who reviewed my (possible)
Trumpeter Swan listing from this morning. Short version I changed it to
Swan sp. as a 100% ID is not possible.
(Heads up this is a lengthy post, but I think of some you will learn
something new, I sure did.)

Hi Everyone,
Today 11/17 I saw two Long-tailed Ducks at Lagerman Reservoir in Longmont.
The brighter of the two came close enough for me to get some digiscope
photos, and Peter Burke got some much better images with a real camera.
Looks like there's just one face smudge, not two, which points t
Hi Everyone, This afternoon 11/16, I saw a male Long-tailed Duck along the east
shore of Lagerman Reservoir in Longmont. I cannot confirm rumors of a second
bird. Also of interest was a male Ruddy Duck still in alternate plumage, but
sans blue in the bill. This seems late. Mark Miller Longmont,

Lagerman Reservoir near Longmont was unusually busy early this morning and
must have had some fish that the birds like. Several hundred Mergansers (3
species, but mostly Common) and several hundred gulls were actively feeding

Hello, Birders.
Hannah and Andrew and I ventured out this hot, dry, dusty afternoon, Sunday,
May 4. Felt like July in La Junta.
Lagerman Reservoir had a breeding-plumage Common Loon, a Baird's Sandpiper, a
Spotted Sandpiper, and an American Avocet.

Hello everyone,
After a bit of searching in the howling wind, I found the SAGE SPARROW at
