file sharing not quite working

2004-11-19 Thread Jessi
Hi all, I'm trying to get file sharing working between my Plus with 6.0.8 and my iBook with 9.2.2. But when I bring up the chooser on the plus and choose appleshare, no servers appear. Can you tell me if I've maybe left something out? Here are the files in my Plus' system folder that I think

Challenge and Response Clarification

2004-11-19 Thread Dan Knight
In response to some emails received since yesterday's posting, I've updated the list FAQ to specifically state that our objection is to challenge and response anti-spam services used to filter messages from the list. This doesn't apply to individual off-list correspondence. New text: What

Stay tuned to the list! I'm writing a new mac web browser right now. It'll be a while off yet, probably by the end of first quarter next year before I have a very usable version. I'll count on all of you to test with me though! Check out the system 6 list's archives for the discussions I've had

Speaking of browsers, can I get idea's on which browser is best for my CC/575 setup? Its got 68040 cpu, 132mb ram, 4.3gig drive, and OS 8.1. I have heard of iCAN, but haven't tried it yet, are there any other fairly modern browsers that work on 68k? Java would be nice, but not required.

Hi, after being unsubscribed for a while, I have re-listed with a question: I've got a Mac Classic or an SE to donate to the cause of automating things in the house (i.e. turning on lights, etc) I've been wondering if there's a way to program the serial port to run things such as

Fried SE/30 System Board?
