Bug #32 mentioned a typo in the sources.list man page,
The man page for sources.list contains an example unstable/binary-3866
instead of unstable/binary-i386.
On my system it's unstable/binary-i3866. Maybe the submitter made a typo

to the quality of the USB layer in 2.6.8. My
original problem shows up on all kernels before 2.6.10, the Dell problem is in
2.6.8 but not 2.6.7...
Maybe this bug should be cloned and one of the clones retitled to something
describing the Dell problem?

2684, external USB Plextor PX-S2410TU using USB 1.1.
What USB controller does that use? Can you provide lspci output?

to need to stick around for a very long time. If at some point in the distant
future we can finally get rid of it, whatever libc package we're using at that
point can check for it and remove it in a package script.

for this bug or at least document the problem in the places they will look
when things go wrong (the BTS for starters).

bug, otherwise I think it's something that 3ware will need to fix in their

would be interesting, but unfortunately I don't have one.

No. In my case it appears that it is only related to when the disk on that
controller is being accessed.
