Why is that important? I've never done that and haven't had
problems. OTOH, I use ttmkfdir, not mkttfdir... is this a limitation

Since the newer kernels, APM support stopped working
(the system freezes). However, I noticed that it does
work when the kernel isn't booted yet, in the grub
menu. Is there any way I can tell the kernel to stay
away from the APM support? So I'd lose all cool things
