Amigo, como está a politica INPUT do servidor?
Se for DROP por padrão, ao invés de você liberar a porta, faça o seguinte:
iptables -A INPUT -s 192.168.0.23 -p tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT
Isso libera a porta do ssh apenas para esse IP.
Qualquer dúvida é só falar.

Cara, instalei num T-410. Configurei ele num Raid-1 via software para
ser um file server. Não tive problemas nenhum.
Apesar de você utilizá-lo para Virtualização, acredito que não terá
problemas, mas é bom escutar mais opiniões de outros colegas..

Gateway para poder logar nos servidores que faço
manutenção/assistencia/etc... como eu sempre to viajando acabo tendo
que utilizar internet discada/lan-house/wi-fi/alheia...
E todos os servidores que administro ele tem acesso
Tenho um T610 com raid5 via hardware com debian squeeze e com xen.
Detecta tudo normalmente.

What do you mean by keyboard off? Can not you switch to a TTY
(CTRL+ALT+Fxx with xx being 1-6) ?
If yes, then, you are not able to boot in recovery and you can just
