@Dan Bolser: Gnome Terminal uses only Ctrl+Alt+* shortcuts, so Ctrl+F/B
should work normally, and menu presence should not matter. If any Gnome

To get global menu support for LibreOffice, you need to install lo-
menubar package. It's not installed by default due to some important
bugs (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lo-menubar), but it
will be included in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

OK, in this case it's bug in lo-menubar.
As I state in the report, globalmenu for libreoffice does work for me except
for read only calc documents opened via Firefox (file open or from webmail)
and Evolution. The package you refer to is installed and the only error I do
experience is this
Since Ubuntu uses the latest Chromium, it's fixed here as well.
