This is unlikely related to the kernel. When trying to launch jackd2 -v
-dalsa it fails with a SIGBUS error. With verbose messages on, the last
message printed is:
Jack: JackEngine::NotifyAddClient: name = system
Working on getting a usable stack trace.
** Also affects: jackd2 (Ubuntu)
Ok No problem :-)
Thank you for your help. This bug is not a big problem.

You need fixes for both the kernel and the driver, so ppa:xorg-edgers
and http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-
experimental/ should have updates that you can test.

Strange that the same hardware works flawlessly when running windows,
then? (i.e. 2560x1440 resolution in 60Hz). Unfortunately I've not been
able to run on that computer lately, so I don't know if it has been
fixed or not.

Ups: Ignore my last comment. I forgot which machine that was. I'm
running headless on that one, so I've not tried it for a while. You are
probably right, could very well be hardware issues. Sorry about that,
and thanks for the reply! :-)
