We could probably knock up a bugzilla extension to either attach linked
files from selected URLs or reject pastebin links?

our pastebin? i mean, sabayon pastebin? this means that can be excluded from
this interdiction? is true i never look too close at sabayon pastebin

Toderel, the default expiry for pastebin is never. For anything else
it requires user intervention. Hence the reason I included one that
will be having it's second birthday very soon previously.

theres also the fact many of the logs are pulled from CLI only sources, so
they just pastebin the logs and move on, I wonder how hard it would to be
build a little button in bugzilla that says: copy log from pastebin - with a
url box to the pastebin id... and it just pulls it...

so, we have a little problem here, pastebin is for transient data logs ( max
30 days if i remember correctly) and good bug reports need permanent logs!
why can't both world be happy by just make bug report infrastructure pull
out automaticaly, as permanent cached data, pastebin logs links?
is true
why add something to scrape the Pastebin data into a file when its detected
in the bug input field...
if facebook can manage similar with their status ticker BS why can't we?
also James you comment is invalid as it contains a link to pastebin

Obviously a system needs to be created where by the data on paste bins get
merged into the ticket thus meaning only when the ticket is resolved the data
is "removed" this may require someone copying and pasting this into the
ticket..
The alternative is someone ask HP for a license to use HP SM
Users are use to pastebins, this is what they are told to use in IRC and not
just with our distro. I agree pastebin don't work for bugzilla so Danilo
and Daniél are hitting the nail on the head with teaching them not too.

Agree with Daniél. It's just important to help people to help us: so
we can choose the rules we desire, but we are responsible to correctly
help them with their reports.
Fabio, I understand you are getting upset of people using
pastebin+bugzilla and making tons of mistakes, but instead of
replying
In my opinion, as long as it's clear for the users that they should use
"this" and not "that" because "that" expires. I see nothing wrong with
making "that" invalid. But it should be clear that they should use
"this" instead.

Does that mean that because the sabayon.org redesign will invalidate
broken links due to URL changes and those will also be marked invalid?
Seriously if thats your logic you just invalidated our own forums for
use in reference in the bugtracker.

marking it invalid because it `may` expire? maybe you can also mark
them invalid because the user `may` be wrong. If the data expires THEN
mark it invalid and/or RFC it. Sorry the blanket invalidating it is
simply indefensible.

Seems Fabio mentioned at one point cookbug was going to be required for bug

I'm now going to close any bug as INVALID if submitter uses Pastebin
as a way for providing logs or config files.
Please do NOT use Pastebin and Bugzilla together.
