I decided to Re RIP all my CDs in Flac. Looks like my 300gb Qnap may be
too small. Is the only option to buy a new, bigger capacity QNAP and
copy them over, or could I attach another 300gb by USB or SATA then

Has anyone any tips on how to get FLAC to consistantly stream to 3 No

You can't reconfigure Slimserver for that (without a hack, anyway),
but you don't need to if you can create a link between the new disk and
the folder you have configured for music. Do you get to a command prompt
in any way, or is there a linking facility in the admin. program?

If you create a shortcut in your existing music folder that points to
the appropriate folder on the new disk, then Slimserver will follow it.

I've just bought a SB3 to add to my two old SB1 players.
I can't fathom out how to get the analog VU meters to display.
Should this be a Now playing option? Or is it a screensaver setting?
I'm using SlimServer Version: 6.5b1 - 8713 - Linux - EN - utf8 and the
player is on firmware
It's a screensaver setting, but post back if you don't find it. Somehow
my analog and digital VU meters suddenly disappeared when running an
earlier build of 6.5b. Haven't figured that one out yet..

Saving prefs is automatic, but there's a delay between making a change
and it being saved (something like 30 seconds), so if you shut it off
right after changing something it might not stick. The other
possibility is that the prefs file or directory has somehow been marked
as reasdonly.

There's a command called wget which is available on a lot of *nix
boxes, but I'm not sure if it comes with OSX - can you fire up a
command prompt and see if it's there? It may be useful in diagnosis.

Nope, I have no playlists and the Slimserver doesn't currently search
anywhere for playlists. I had found a previous thread that mentioned
the same thing that you did so I tried that first.
I'd say the duplicates happen for 80 to 90% of the albums, which is a
bit frustrating :).

Hmmn, thanks for the tip, and you weren't stating the obvious as I
hadn't read up on creating objects from asp pages. However, it still
doesn't fix my problem.
I've experimented a bit more and I've made a valid xml file and stored
it in my virtual directory.

Your music library contains 511 albums with 6928 songs by 226 artists.
Most are MP3 but I'm currently re-ripping my CD collection to Flac to

Playlists. Hmmm? I see menu of Home/Browse Playlists and Items 1 to
50 of 123, and finally page numbers. This is on a Mac using Safari.
