I guess the MusicIP plugin is not called to do a scan when you browse

Yes. You'll have to re-apply the patch whenever you install/upgrade SC 7.2

I have a squeezebox #3 - running squeezecenter v7.2 on ubuntu 8.04
(hardy).
The box itself connects to squeezenetwork fine.
Earlier it simply went off and lost connection to the center.
Now it wont connect - and looking at the webserver on my laptop it
seems to have lost its player.
Ive bounced my laptop a couple of times - and power cycled the sqzbx -
now it works fine.(can connect to both).
No player found (still) however.
think my player config needs checking - got a howto ? (link).

I have done a search for 'Synch' but haven't found anything useful,

SBC: Right now WOL from a SBC works only if it's connected directly to
a wireless router which means that isn't an option for you.
SBR: If an SBR gets disconnected from SC and its LED is blue, pressing
the button on SBR sends out a WOL packet. (This was added in fw = 42

this would make a difference.

restrictions to system)

I'm never more than 10 meters away from the AP not to many concrete
