Ok. I managed to get the image into the 8Gb USB. Now I am getting an
alsamixer error on Putty:
cannot open mixer: no such file or directory

I will attempt building a VAMP today. I want to use with my Audioquest
Dragonfly USB DAC. I am hoping it will work fine. This DAC has a volume
control in the analog domain that is usually controlled by the Windows
operating system. It acts exactly like the regular system volume.

I also find the new iPod Touch very attractive. More so than the Nokia
device. I briefly owned a 770 and ultimately found it somewhat lacking.
The stylus operation is a weak point of the design, IMO.
I agree that the Touch will sell millions. A winner in my book.

I don't like the idea of having the hard drive inside the unit. Never

be released. Since the all-black SB3 will remain available, I'm

Even the much lauded Stereophile review is nonsense, IMO. I was reading

If you recently changed the name of your music folder or changed drive
letter designations (common with removable USB drives) then Slim Server
will report twice the songs. The cure is to rescan everything on your
library.

I find Slim Server to be superb. I love it. Never used I-tunes, but
quite frankly I don't see a need for it. I use SB mostly for my CD
collection ripped to FLAC lossless and some old MP3s.
