There is no mechanism to take that digital input signal and send it to
either Squeezebox Server or other Squeezeboxes via WiFi or LAN

I agree with the positives mentioned above and would add that the
current nightlies of SBS are looking very good, which is an encouraging
sign for the future.
I am running 7.4.2 from the nighlies on one server and 7.5 on another.

The reason I ask is that although I am able to listen to BBC streams

able to listen to the streams without the need for my PC to be switched
on.

Why is there so much negativity on these products -- from what I can
see 99% of problems are related to incorrect network setup or Broadband
bandwidth issues.
OK some of these Network problems can be confusing to Non computer
techies -- especially if there is an unseen IP address

Despite a few niggles I am very happy with my 2*SB3's, Squeezebox Radio
and old SB1.
I'm very impressed with the radio, it looks great and works well.
Personally I think the niggles are worth it for the flexibility you get

Looks like the black one came out in Dec 2006, and in Jan 2007 the price
changed 'from $249' to 'from $299'. So it seems reasonable to assume
that that coincides with droping the wired version. The actual buy pages
are not stored.

RealAudio is effectively dead - the BBC will stop all support of
RealAudio by March 2010. So there is no point in SB player supporting
Realaudio as there will be no BBC content.
Since June 2009, all the BBC live streams - National, regional and
local are all available in WMA format for both UK
+1, my SB3, 2*Boom, TP and Controller are great.
In contrast, it's taken me 4 MONTHS to get a workable set-up to hook up
my DLNA-enabled Sony TV to a DLNA media streamer on Vista!

Sorry, I've been gone a while out of frustration. NOTHING I do seems to
help.
I'm currently running 7.4.1, but I've uninstalled and reinstalled
earlier versions to no avail. Running a SB3 btw. Never had a problem
before, but between software upgrade an a new computer it's no longer
working.
I think 90%+ of the people who post here like, or even love, their
Squeezebox products. I own a bunch and overall they're easily one of the
best purchases I ever made. I hope to the Squeezebox system for the rest
of my life and losing it would be a great blow.

I figured it out. You have to get the entire address in the address
window. Normally, it only displays the touch address, but if you begin
typing status after the first part of the address, the entire address
will prefill, and you can bookmark it. I actually have iPeng, but I
can't use it at

When I tried that, it only bookmarked the homepage even though I was on
the status page. I had to go to my laptop and enter the much-longer

SBR and boom) have been ultra reliable from day one and are used on a
daily basis. All ethernet here, none of that new fangled wireless thingy

Ok correct me if I'm wrong but is not lan ip mode= 1 static
If you are using DHCP set lan ip mode= 0
If you are intending to use static ip none of settings below should be
0.0.0.0 you must fill in the correct oip,dns etc for your network.
If you are using DHCP these will be set by your router.
