Interestingly the new server installation streams perfectly to another
PC (still wireless) running Softsqueeze. Something peculiar to the SB3
which it doesn't like?
There have been some firmware versions which didn't like updates. I've needed
to do factory reset on some of my SB2/3s in the
new app the previous version (6.5) will be deleted automatically or do
I have to do it manually beforehand.
If you're on Windows SS6 will be uninstalled before installing SC7, migrating
the settings.

Does the slim device support wma format when playing music from windows
media player.
You can't feed the SqueezeBox using WMP. But you can play WMA files on the
SqueezeBox 2/3/Receiver/Transporter using SqueezeCenter.
Their website says yes. Yet when I look in the sttings it does not show
I know that if I download the m3u files from this site and place them
in my playlists folder, when I play the playlist, it streams from the
site.
It then should probably work with SC as well. Why don't you just try it?

right. This was achieved by simply naming one as thumb and the other as
album.
The idea of thumb and cover was to have a small preview image. If you used it
for other purposes, than yes, that feature is gone. We're now using the one

I have a Squeezebox 3, firmware 81 and I'm having a bit of an issue with
the volume. If I change the volume from 22 to 33 there is no noticeable
change, and then going to 34 it takes a big jump, and similarly no
change from 34 to 45 with another large jump going to 46.

You should update your Slimserver, they added a robots.txt in the latest
stable version. That will solve the googlebot problem. :)
One more idea might be _not_ to publish the web interface to the world.

I just installed SC7 on my WinXP machine
I see that it copied the file from my previous Slimserver 6.54 install
into the new folder under Application Data. But, I also discovered that
there are now many different .prefs files. So, just wondering if my SB3
looks at that slimserver.prefs file

Artwork downloaded from iTunes shop won't work. James iTunes updater plugin
allows to display it in the web interface's player panel, but I'm not
