It is a pity that no Transporters are available any more. I missed to

I can also recommend a Synology NAS. I have a DS 1511+ which is very
fast and gives a very good responsiveness for LMS. The current DS 1512+
presumably is even faster.

An old PC with sufficient power is very cheap and allows very decent
Squeezebox/Logitech Server functionality. Another option are NAS
devices from Synology and similar which also provide decent
Squeezebox/Logitech Server functionality
Finally I have managed to fit my car with LMS (version 7.8.0) as music
source in form of a very stable solution. LMS with Squeezelite of the
Local Player Plugin and MusicIP run on a Fit-PC2i 2GB/2GHz with Windows
Home Server V1 as operating system. The audio-out of the FitPC2i is
connected with

I think the Fit-PC2 is a nice solutions also for other applications. It
appears to be the smallest (101 x 115 x 27 mm) full functional PC
available. It is fanless, uses Intel Atom Z5xx CPU 1.1 1.6 GHz (2 GHz
version was terminated) and has an idle power consumption of 5W and

the technical effort as such, when it is clear what is to be done, is
not very big. The Fit-PC2 is just placed below the driver seat, where

I think that you should upgrade to IPeng on your IPad. Further, you
should consider to upgrade to an newer versions of Logitech Media
Server. LMS Version 7.9.0 works just fine.

Roon is great. I consider to go for it in addition to my LMS-Squeezebox
setup. Squeezebox devices can be supplied directly from Roon with music
streams, but with the disadvantage that the LMS in the network has to be
shut down for achieving that a respective Squeezebox device connects

One short comment: The Bluesound Node 2 and the other Bluesound devices
are perfect endpoints for ROON. The Bluesound app is not needed for
operating Bluesound devices with ROON.

I wondered why suddenly my two LMS server installations didn't work
anymore, but understand now that the shutdown of ickStream was the
reason.
I tinkered several hours over the weekend to get LMS server running
again, and will have to invest further hours to reimplement the multi
library
According to a search with the applicant name / patentee name "Slim
Devices" in the DEPATIS system if the German Patent and Trademark Office
there appear to be no published patents or published patent applications
of Slim Devices Inc. at all. They might have filed in another name
though.
