-functional and I'm getting
erratic behaviour from the TS-101 such that I cannot even use it as a
basic NAS device.

that it will connect
with guest / anonymous access. If so you will disconnect first before
reconnecting with credentials

-101 that was returned due to an unrelated fault did
not have this problem. I also have a Western Digital NAS running with
several partitions/drives which has also never had to be re-mapped
Anyone have any ideas how to cure this?

It's a known fault that occurs with some (older?) units...
Parts of the display disappear when the device warms up. You will have
to get it replaced.

to the live music library on SqueezeNetwork last night,
although that was probably just web traffic bottlenecks.
Definitely a fair bit slower than my laptop and Western Digital NAS
setup at present...

copying from one NAS drive to another via a
router. The big leap forward is that the copying process has been
progressing without hang-ups for a few hours now - hooray!!
Now all I need is my replacement squeezebox to arrive (hint...).

slimserver active on the
computer screen, it's constantly chattering away (updating?), even when
the Squeezebox is switched off. I guess it may be doing the same thing
when sitting on the Qnap.

No idea what's going on, but I'm obviously not going to be able to copy
all of my music to the appropriate Qnap folder via my network as it
stands...

alternatives? Perhaps this is a possibility in the
MoodLogic support? They do, however, state that Moodlogic can only cope
with 10,000 tracks. I have 15,000, so would I have to lose a third of my
collection. How does it choose?

Nope, no obvious ventilation - it's all enclosed and pretty solid. Mine
seems to get hot in the top half of the unit - around the display...
