OK I managed to get some logging infothe skip occurred at about
16:17 today (4/2/19). It was playing Tom Waits "Mr Siegal" (on player
0a:00:27:00:00:02), then skipped before the end and started playing the
Stereophonics "Don't Let Me Down". I don't see anything obvious in here.

I frequently get songs skipping to the next track before completion. I'm

FYI if you want to throw Home Assistant (open source home automation
software) into the mix you can also use Google Home to play specific
tracks, albums, artists, etc from LMS. I've put information on this on

I've been automating my LMS playback using web requests using the
Titlesearch command. I often request tracks that exist on many albums
(e.g. studio, live, cover versions by different artists...). Is there a
way of searching for a specific track on a specific album?

So I finally cracked it, and have Google Home controlling my LMS
server/players. If anyone else should try this, here's an example of the
type of IFTTT request that you need to send to home-assistant - this one
plays the track that you specify:

I finally managed to find a workaround. I created a file called
ChooseMusicSource.lua (which didn't get created when Squeezeplay was
installed, despite me installing/uninstalling it 3-4 times). That file
directs Squeezeplay to the IP address of my LMS server.

connecting" message. If I select the "Switch Library" option it just
tries "Connecting tomysqueezebox.com" again. It seems not to detect

I've just installed Squeezeplay 7.8.0r959 on Windows 10. I can't get it
to connect to my LMS server (v7.9.0 on Windows Server 2008) on the same
LAN. I just get a message saying "Problem Connecting". I can access the
LMS server using the web interface on port 9090. Any tips for diagnosing

Just to confirm - my Windows LMS runs 24/7 and I still get a timeout on
the first connection of the day (or when it's been idle for a few hours
and the HDD has gone into sleep mode). So presumably the timeouts are
happening while waiting for the HDD to spin up.

Oh that's a shame as I remember 7.7.1 being pretty unstable on my server
as well. I'm sure there were earlier releases which were able to handle
folders which simply contained shortcuts to network shares. Or maybe
there was another trick to getting this to work. Does anyone

I have decided to revert to an older version of Squeezecentre Server, as
the latest LMS release is frequently crashing on my Window 2008 Server.
I need to find an older, stable version that supports the use of more
than one Music folder (on separate network shares). I've tried 7.2,
7.3.4 and 7.5.4
I suspected that the Touch would be recommended, but it's hard to
justify as it would be double the cost of the Radio!
