Hmm, the Nook Color can be had pretty cheaply as a refurb and there is a root kit to unlock the full Android OS. And on top of that it seems like the Nook Color 2 will be announced in about a week. I think I should hold off until I see what that's all about. -- tonyptony

I don't think it's a general iPod touch issue, I believe the issue is that since it's a very expensive thing to fix people sell them off when the screen is cracked. My experience is that the screens are actually _very_ robust. I've dropped all of my devices a lot and so far I crashed the screen
