How about the ability to play anything that is coming through the soundcard on my computer? So then I don't have to rip CDs to my harddrive, just put them in and play. If I can hear it on my computer, I can hear it on my Squeezebox, and through my stereo. -- HerrHaHa

Here's a feature that would be cool for me. Support the ability to assign a score to a file format or somehow weight it so that I can state a preference. In other words if I have a track in both FLAC and MP3 formats it'd be really cool if I had a way to say only show/play the FLAC version.

I have a huge music library - a lot of which i don't listen too much if ever. I'd like a system in the slimserver for rating songs you like say on a scale of 1-4 or something so that if you play an album or a particular genre it can miss out ones you don't like and play ones you do first.

For me, parental controls are needed. What with so many tracks containing swearing I'd like a better way of managing what can get played at certain times. As a work around I've tagged albums and tracks I know are dodgy with NotForKids so if I want to play random music I just exclude this genre.
